INTRODUCTION
These instructions are for the RPB° ADF lens, part # 16-871. An automatic welding filter is
a device that protects the eyes from glare and dangerous radiation caused by welding. An
automatic welding filter combines a passive UV and a passive IR filter with an active filter,
the luminous transmittance of which varies in the visible region of the spectrum, depending
on the irradiance from the welding arc. The luminous transmittance of the automatic welding
filter has an initial high value (light state). After the welding arc strikes and within a defined
switching time, the luminous transmittance of the filter changes to a low value (dark state).
This product must be inspected and maintained in accordance with this instruction manual at
all times.
See PROTECTION PROVIDED AND LIMITATIONS (page 4) for details.
