This easy-to-use machine guarantees excellent results every day.

Thanks to its intuitive interface, you can choose from 12 beverages and customise

them according to your preferences.

Before being packed, each of our high-quality machines undergoes rigorous testing

in our laboratories to ensure that it is operating correctly. As real coffee is used

during testing, some residue may be found in your machine. However, this does

not compromise the integrity of the product. Please be assured that this is a brand

new machine.

In this user manual you will find all the information you need to install, use, clean

and descale your machine. Before using it for the first time, please read carefully

the safety manual provided separately and store it for future use.

Control panel and display

Multifunction buttons

The multifunction buttons on the sides of the display are used to select the

function or the beverage they refer to at that time.

First installation

Before using the machine, it is essential you follow a few simple steps which are

clearly described in the explanatory drawings you found in the quick reference

guide at the beginning of this instruction manual.

Note: for even tastier coffee, we recommend that you initially prepare at least 5

cups of coffee to allow the machine to self-adjust.

Manual rinse cycle

During the rst installation or after a long period of machine inactivity, a manual

rinse cycle must be carried out.

1 Place a container under the coffee dispensing spout, scroll through the

different pages and select an “ESPRESSO LUNGO”.

2 Press the “ “ button until “ “ is selected, without adding pre-ground

coffee.

button to start dispensing. The machine will

dispense hot water.

4 Empty the container and make sure that the hot water dispensing spout is

installed.

5 Place the container under the hot water dispensing spout and select “HOT

WATER”.

6 Press the START/STOP

button to start dispensing.

7 Empty the container and repeat steps 5 to 7 until the water tank is empty.

8 When nished, rell the water tank to the MAX level. The machine is now ready

for use.

Measuring water hardness

You will need to set the water hardness when you install your machine for the rst

time.

Take the water hardness measuring strip contained in the packaging and follow

the steps shown on the display during the installation phase. To change the water

hardness later, press the CLEAN/SET

clean/setting

button then, select “SETTINGS”, and

once in the settings menu, please select “WATER HARDNESS”.

1 Immerse the water hardness measuring strip in a glass of water for 1 second.

Remove the strip from the water and wait for 1 minute.

2 Check how many squares turn red.

3 Use the green “ ” and “ ” buttons to select the water hardness according to

the table below. Conrm the setting by pressing “ ”.

INTENZA+ water lter

We recommend the use of an INTENZA+ water lter to limit limescale formation.

This ensures a longer operating life of your machine and a better coffee aroma

over time.

Water is an essential element in brewing coffee. Therefore, it is extremely

important that water is always ltered adequately.

The INTENZA+ water lter prevents the formation of mineral deposits and

improves the quality of the water.

Installing the INTENZA+ water lter

Immerse the INTENZA+ water lter in cold water, in a vertical position and with the

opening facing upwards. Press both sides of the lter gently to let air bubbles out.

Place the INTENZA+ lter in the water tank, ensuring it is correctly positioned. Rell

the water tank and place it back in its compartment.

1 Press the CLEAN/SET

clean/setting

button and then the SETTINGS“ button.

2 Select “WATER FILTER” and press the “ “ button.

3 Select “ACTIVATE” and follow the instructions on the display to activate the

lter correctly.

Note: the lter activation procedure can be paused by pressing the START/

STOP

button again to resume the lter

activation procedure.

Remove the INTENZA+ water lter from the water. Set the machine according to

the measured water hardness - see the “Measuring water hardness” section. On

the lter base, please set one of the following:

A = soft water – 1 or 2 small squares

B = hard water (standard) – 3 small squares

C = very hard water – 4 small squares

Replacing the INTENZA+ water lter

When the INTENZA+ water lter is exhausted, the warning message appears on

the display.

1 Replace or deactivate by pressing the CLEAN/SET

clean/setting

button and then the

“SETTINGS” button.

2 Select “WATER FILTER” then press the “ “ button.

3 Select “REPLACE” to change the lter or “DEACTIVATE”if you do not intend to

use the lter. Conrm with the “ “ button.

Follow the instructions shown on the display to activate the lter correctly.

Types of beverage

Original recipe Description

Ristretto A ristretto, served in a small cup, is an espresso whose brewing time is

shorter than a regular espresso. As such, a ristretto is a shorter coffee and

has less caffeine.

Espresso Espresso is known around the globe as the real Italian coffee. Served in a

small cup, its unmistakeable features are a full and intense aroma and a

top layer of compact, natural “crema”. It is the result of the pressurized hot

water extraction process invented by Achille Gaggia in 1938.

Espresso lungo Espresso lungo is an espresso with a longer extraction time. It is more

diluted, with a different aromatic intensity and a higher caffeine content. It

is served in a medium-sized cup.

Coffee Coffee is a beverage prepared with more water than espresso. It has a

lighter aroma and is served in a medium-large cup.

Americano Americano is a less intense long coffee, prepared with an espresso to

which hot water is added.

tall, transparent glass to allow the separation of the three different

Espresso tray

This machine was designed to guarantee awless results, from a traditional

espresso to a number of different beverages. If you want to enjoy an Italian

espresso with a delicious layer of its natural “crema” on top and as tradition

dictates, we suggest that you use the “Espresso Tray” which is specically

designed for this purpose. This tray allows the use of traditional espresso cups,

ensuring the perfect height for a compact, homogeneous “crema” and a splash-free

brewing.

Lift the espresso tray off the grill of the drip tray and place it into the dedicated slot

as shown in the drawing.

Warning: only use coffee beans when making espresso. Do not put any ground,

unroasted, freeze-dried or instant coffee in the coffee beans container, as they may

damage the machine.

Tip: Preheat the cups with hot water to enjoy a warmer coffee.

1 Upon positioning the espresso tray, place a cup under the coffee dispensing

spout, raise or lower the coffee dispensing spout according to the size of the

cup you are using.

Hot water Hot water can be used to prepare hot teas, infusions and instant beverages.

Note: In the original recipes the beverages are all set to an average temperature

2 Browse the various pages to nd and select the desired coffee.

3 Upon selection of your desired coffee, two cups can be prepared

simultaneously - besides AMERICANO, using the “ ” button.

Note: The “pre-ground coffee” function excludes two options, i.e. setting the aroma

and brewing two cups of coffee simultaneously. In fact, these are only possible

with coffee beans.

4 Press the START/STOP

Brewing coee using pre-ground coee

Use the measuring scoop provided to insert the correct dose in the pre-ground

coffee compartment.

1 Lift the lid of the pre-ground coffee compartment and add a little less than one

level measuring scoop of pre-ground coffee.

Warning: do not insert anything other than pre-ground coffee, as it may damage

the machine.

2 Place a cup under the coffee dispensing spout and select the desired beverage.

4 Finally, press the START/STOP

button to start brewing.

Note: you can interrupt the brewing at any time by pressing the START/STOP

button.

Preparation of frothed milk based and

coee beverages

Warning: before selecting a milk, frothed milk or coffee-based beverage,

make sure that the milk carafe is installed and the milk dispensing

spout is open. If the milk carafe is not correctly installed, the milk dispensing spout

may spray steam or hot milk.

2 Pour the milk into the milk carafe: the milk level must be between the

minimum (MIN) and the maximum (MAX) level indicators shown on the carafe.

Reposition the lid.

Note: Before using the milk carafe, clean it thoroughly as

described in the “Cleaning and Maintenance” chapter.

Inserting the milk carafe

If installed, remove the water dispensing spout:

1 Press the two side buttons to unlock the dispensing spout and lift it slightly;

2 Pull the water dispensing spout to remove it.

Note: Do not force the carafe while inserting it.

3 Slightly tilt the milk carafe. Insert it all the way into the guides of the machine.

4 Push the carafe downwards while rotating it at the same time until it locks onto

the drip tray.

Dispensing frothed milk based coee beverages

Tip: use only cold milk (at a temperature of approx. 5°C) and with at least a

3% protein content so as to obtain a perfect milk foam. Either whole milk or semi-

skimmed milk can be used. Skimmed, soy or lactose-free milk can also be used.

1 Pull out the milk dispensing spout to the right up to the icon.

Note: if the milk dispensing spout has not been pulled all the way out,

the milk may not be properly frothed.

2 Place a cup under the open milk dispensing spout.

3 Press the HOMEbutton

andchoose the desired beverage from the menu.

- Press the button corresponding to the desired beverage.

- Press the START/STOP

button to start dispensing the selected bever-

age.

4 The machine dispenses a default amount of coffee and frothed milk into the

cup or the glass. Depending on the beverage chosen, either coffee or frothed

milk will be dispensed rst.

If you wish to customise the settings of a specic beverage, please refer to the

“Beverage Customisation” section.

Removing the milk carafe

Rotate the carafe upwards until it is naturally released from the insert in the

drip tray. Then, remove the carafe.

5 After each preparation of frothed milk based and coffee beverages, it is best to

carry out the quick cleaning procedure of the milk circuit within 10 seconds.

However, the procedure can also be carried out later by accessing the cleaning

menu via the CLEAN/SET

clean/setting

button. Press the

“CLEAN” button and select the “QUICK CLEAN” option. Then press the “ ”

button. Then, follow the instructions shown on the display.

Note: we recommend that the machine be cleaned via the quick clean procedure at

least once a day.

Dispensing hot water

Warning: when preparation starts, the hot water dispensing spout may

spray steam and hot water. Before removing the hot water dispensing spout,

wait until the preparation has ended.

Customising beverages and saving

settings (MEMO)

This machine allows you to change the settings of a beverage according to your

preferences and save them (MEMO) by overwriting the previous settings.

Beverage Customisation

1 Press the HOME

HOME

button.

2 Select your beverage.

3 All the settings that can be adjusted and/or selected are displayed on the

screen. Based on the type of beverage, you can adjust and/or select:

- coffee and milk amount;

- coffee temperature;

- brewing two cups at a time;

- pre-ground coffee use;

- aroma intensity (only when using coffee beans);

4 Once the “COFFEE ” or “MILK ” button has been pressed, use

the green “ “ and “ “ buttons to select the desired amount.

Press “ “ to conrm and return to the previous screen, where the new quantity

will be displayed.

5 Press the “TEMP ” button repeatedly to adjust the temperature of the

beverage to one of the following options:

- low;

- medium;

- high;

6 Press “ “ to brew two cups, or “ “ for a single cup. The picture of the

beverage in the middle of the display will indicate the number of cups selected.

Note: this function is not available for beverages with milk, AMERICANO and HOT

WATER.

7 To change the aroma intensity or select the pre-ground coffee, press the “ “

button. You can choose among 5 different degrees of intensity. Every time you

can proceed with dispensing it by pressing START/STOP

Warning: the new saved settings will overwrite those of the previous recipe.

Note: there are two options for restoring the factory recipe settings:

beverage and save them;

- restore the “Default settings” for all the beverages from the “SETTINGS” menu;

Adjusting the grind settings

The grind settings can be adjusted using the grinder adjustment knob on the

coffee beans container. The ceramic coffee grinder guarantees a perfect and

homogeneous grinding for the preparation of every cup of coffee. The aroma is

thus preserved, ensuring a perfect avour every time.

Note: the grind setting can only be adjusted while the machine is grinding the

coffee beans. The difference in taste will be perceived after brewing 2-3 cups of

coffee.

Warning: to avoid damaging the coffee grinder, do not rotate the grinder

adjustment knob more than one notch at a time.

1 Place a cup under the coffee dispensing spout.

2 Remove the lid of the coffee bean container.

3 Prepare an espresso as described in the “Brewing coffee from coffee beans”

chapter.

4 While the machine is grinding coffee, press the grind settings adjustment knob

in the bean container and turn it one notch at a time, to the left or right.

5 There are 5 different grind settings to choose from. The smaller the bar, the

stronger and richer the coffee.

- Coarse grind: lighter taste, for dark roasted coffee blends (3-5);

- Fine grind: stronger taste, for light roasted coffee blends (1-3);

Regular cleaning and maintenance keep the machine in perfect condition and

ensure perfect coffee avour, a constant coffee ow and an excellent milk foam.

Please refer to the following table to know when and how to clean the removable

Cleaning the milk carafe under running water

The milk dispensing spout is composed of 5 components. All the components,

apart from the milk container, can be washed in the dish washer.

1 Remove the milk dispensing unit lid (g. 21).

2 Press the releasing buttons on both sides of the upper part of the milk

dispensing unit (1) and pull out the upper part of the milk container (2). (g.

22).

3 Remove the milk dispensing spout from its dispensing unit. (g. 23).

4 To disassemble the dispensing spout:

- Overturn the milk dispensing unit and hold it rmly in your hand. Pull out

the milk tub from the holder (g. 24);

- Press the release buttons on the Pannarello and remove the Pannarello

from the rubber holder. (g. 25);

- Pull out the connector from the Pannarello. (g. 26);

5 Wash all components under running water.

6 After cleaning, reassemble all the components by following the same

procedure in reverse order.

Cleaning the brew group

Warning: do not wash the brew group in the dishwasher and do not use

dishwashing detergents, since they may cause the brew group to malfunction and

alter the coffee avour.

Removing the brew group

1 Turn off the machine and disconnect the power cord.

2 Remove the drip tray and the coffee pucks container.

3 Open the service door.

4 Press the PUSH lever (1) and pull the handle of the brew group (2) to remove it

from the machine.

Cleaning the brew group under running water

1 Clean the coffee outlet duct thoroughly with a teaspoon handle or with another

round-tipped kitchen utensil.

2 Rinse the brew group and the coffee residues drawer thoroughly with

lukewarm water. Carefully wash the upper lter.

3 Let the brew group air dry.

Note: to avoid the build-up of bres inside, do not dry the brew group with cloths.

Reinserting the brew group

1 Before reinserting the brew group back into the machine, make sure that the

two yellow reference marks on the side match. If this is not the case, perform

the following steps:

Make sure that the lever is in contact with the base of the brew group.

2 Make sure that the yellow locking hook of the brew group is in the correct

position.

To position the hook correctly, push it upwards to the highest possible position.

If the hook is still in the lower position, this means that it is not positioned correctly.

3 Reinsert the coffee residues drawer.

4 Reinsert the brew group into the machine along the side guides until it locks in

position with a click.

Warning: do not press the PUSH lever.

5 Close the service door.

Cleaning the brew group with cleaning tablets for the

removal of oily coee residues

Warning: only use Gaggia cleaning tablets to remove any oily coffee residues.

1 Place a container under the coffee dispensing spout.

2 Press the CLEAN/SET

Lubricating the brew group

To ensure high quality performances of the machine, the brew group needs to

remain lubricated. Refer to the following table for the frequency of lubrication.

1 Turn off the appliance and disconnect the power cord.

2 Remove the brew group and rinse it using lukewarm water (see the “Cleaning

3 Apply a thin layer of the lubricant supplied around the insertion pin on the lower

part of the brew group.

4 Apply a thin layer of lubricant to the guides, on both sides (see gure).

5 Reinsert the brew group (see the “Reinserting the brew group” chapter).

Descaling

Descaling procedure

Descaling needs to be carried out when the machine requires it.

Use only the Gaggia descaling solution designed to guarantee high quality

performance of the machine. The use of different products could damage the

machine and leave residue in the water. Failure to descale the machine will void the

warranty.

1 Press CLEAN/SET

2 Remove the drip tray and the coffee pucks container, empty and place them all

back into the machine.

3 Remove the water tank and empty it. Remove the INTENZA+ lter, if in place.

4 Pour the entire bottle of Gaggia descaling solution into the water tank and ll

the tank with water up to the CALC CLEAN level. Reinsert it into the machine.

5 Fill the milk carafe halfway with water and insert it in the machine.

6 Place a large container (1.5l) under the milk and coffee dispensing spouts.

7 Follow the instructions shown on the display to launch the descaling

procedure. This procedure lasts approximately 25 minutes and consists of

a descaling cycle and a rinse cycle, carried out with dispensing at regular

intervals.

8 Once the descaling cycle is over, rinse the water tank, milk carafe and water

circuit, following the instructions shown on the display.

9 Position the INTENZA+ lter back into the water tank.

Note: the procedure can be paused and resumed at any time by pressing the

START/STOP

button.

Warning: when the descaling procedure is active, the brew group cannot be

removed. Wait for the descaling process to end, then remove the brew group.

What to do if the descaling procedure is interrupted

You can exit the descaling procedure by pressing and holding the ON/OFF

ON/OFF

button for a few seconds on the control panel. If the descaling procedure is

interrupted before it ends, proceed as follows:

1 Empty the water tank and wash it thoroughly.

2 Fill the water tank with running water up to the CALC CLEAN level indicator,

then turn the machine back on. The machine will warm up and perform an

automatic rinse cycle.

3 Before preparing any beverages, carry out a manual rinse cycle as described in

the dedicated chapter.

Note: if the procedure has not been completed, another descaling procedure must

be carried out as soon as possible.

The list below reports some error codes that may appear on the display, their

meanings and how to solve the problem. If the indicated solutions are ineffective

because the display continues to show the error code icon and the machine does

not return to normal operation, or if other error codes are displayed, please call the

authorised service centre or distributors in your country.

Eerste installatie

Voordat u de machine gebruikt, is het van essentieel belang dat u een paar

eenvoudige stappen volgt, duidelijk beschreven in de beknopte handleiding aan het

begin van deze handleiding met verklarende tekeningen.

Opmerking: om een nog heerlijkere koe te verkrijgen, raden we u aan eerst 5

kopjes koe te zetten zodat de machine de zelf-afstelling kan uitvoeren.

Handmatige spoelcyclus

Tijdens de eerste installatie of na een lange periode van inactiviteit van de machine,

moet een handmatige spoelcyclus uitgevoerd worden.

1 Plaats een bak onder de koetuit, blader door de verschillende pagina's en

selecteer een "ESPRESSO LUNGO".

2 Druk op de toets " " tot selectie van " ", zonder voorgemalen koe toe

te voegen.

om de afgifte te starten; de machine begint

met de afgifte van heet water.

4 Leeg het bakje en verzeker u ervan dat de schenkinrichting voor heet water

geïnstalleerd is.

"HEET WATER".

6 Druk op de toets START/STOP

om de afgifte te starten.

7 Leeg het bakje en herhaal de stappen 5 tot en met 7, tot het waterreservoir leeg

is.

8 Vul na beëindiging het waterreservoir opnieuw tot het MAX niveau. De machine

is nu klaar voor gebruik.

Meting van de waterhardheid

Tijdens de eerste installatie, moet de waterhardheid ingesteld worden.

Neem het meetstrookje van de waterhardheid uit de verpakking en volg de

stappen die op het display weergegeven worden tijdens de installatiefase. Om

de waterhardheid later te veranderen, drukt u op de toets CLEAN/SET

clean/setting

, selecteert u "INSTELLINGEN" en selecteert u eenmaal in het instellingenmenu

"WATERHARDHEID".

1 Dompel de strook voor de meting van de waterhardheid gedurende 1 seconde

in een glas water. Haal de strook uit het water en wacht 1 minuut.

2 Controleer hoeveel vierkantjes rood geworden zijn.

3 Gebruik de groene toetsen " " en " " om de waarde te kiezen van de

hardheid die ingesteld moet worden volgens de hiernavolgende tabel, en

bevestig dan met de toets " ".

Waterlter INTENZA+

Wij raden u aan het waterlter INTENZA+ te installeren, om kalkvorming te

beperken. Dit zorgt voor een langere levensduur van de machine en een beter

koearoma in de loop van de tijd.

Water is een heel belangrijk bestanddeel bij het zetten van koe: daarom is het

heel belangrijk dit altijd professioneel te ltreren.

Het waterlter INTENZA+ voorkomt de vorming van mineraalafzettingen, waardoor

de kwaliteit van het water verbeterd wordt.

Installatie van het waterlter INTENZA+

Dompel het waterlter INTENZA+ in verticale positie (met de opening naar boven)

in koud water en druk zachtjes op de zijkanten om de luchtbelletjes eruit te laten

komen.

Plaats het lter INTENZA+ in het waterreservoir en verzeker u ervan dat het correct

geplaatst is. Vul het waterreservoir opnieuw en plaats het in het compartiment.

1 Druk op de toets CLEAN/SET

en vervolgens op de toets

" INSTELLINGEN ".

2 Selecteer "WATERFILTER" en druk op de toets " ".

3 Selecteer "ACTIVEREN" en volg de aanwijzingen op het display om het lter

Verwijder het waterlter INTENZA+ uit het water en stel het in op basis van

de gedetecteerde hardheid van het water (zie het hoofdstuk "Meting van de

waterhardheid") en gespeciceerd aan de onderkant van het lter:

A = zacht water – komt overeen met 1 of 2 vierkantjes

B = hard water (standaard) – komt overeen met 3 vierkantjes

C = zeer hard water – komt overeen met 4 vierkantjes

Vervanging van het waterlter INTENZA+

Wanneer het waterlter INTENZA+ op is, verschijnt het waarschuwingsbericht op

het display.

1 Vervang het lter of schakel het uit door te drukken op de toets CLEAN/SET

clean/setting

en vervolgens op de toets " INSTELLINGEN ".

2 Selecteer "

WATERFILTER" en druk op de toets " ".

3 Kies "VERVANGEN" om het lter te wisselen of "UITSCHAKELEN" indien u het

Oorspronkelijk recept Beschrijving

Ristretto De ristretto, geserveerd in een klein kopje, is een espresso met een kortere

afgiftetijd in vergelijking met de klassieke espresso, wat resulteert in een

kleinere hoeveelheid koe met minder cafeïne.

Espresso De espresso wordt wereldwijd erkend als de echte "Italiaanse koe". Hij

wordt geserveerd in een klein kopje, met als onmiskenbare kenmerken een

vol en intens aroma en een toplaag van compacte, natuurlijke room. Wat u

nu in het kopje vindt, is het resultaat van een drukextractieproces met heet

water, uitgevonden door Achille Gaggia in 1938.

Espresso lungo De espresso lungo is een espresso met een langere extractietijd. Hij is

meer verdund, met een andere aromatische intensiteit en een hoger

cafeïnegehalte. Deze koe wordt in een middelgroot kopje geserveerd.

Koe Koe is een drank gemaakt met een grotere hoeveelheid water dan de

espresso. Hij heeft een lichter aroma en wordt in een middelgroot tot groot

Espresso tray

Deze machine is ontworpen voor een perfect resultaat in het kopje; niet alleen

de traditionele espresso, maar ook tal van andere dranken. Als u een Italiaanse

espresso wilt proeven zoals de traditie vereist, met een heerlijke laag natuurlijke

room op het oppervlak, raden we aan de speciaal daarvoor ontworpen "Espresso

tray" te gebruiken. Met behulp van deze tray kunt u traditionele espressokopjes

gebruiken, waarmee de perfecte hoogte wordt gegarandeerd voor een compacte

en homogene crema en een spatloze afgifte.

Til de Espresso tray uit het rooster van het lekbakje en steek deze in de daarvoor

bestemde gleuf, zoals aangegeven in de tekening.

Koeafgifte

Afgifte van koe met koebonen

Let op: gebruik enkel koebonen voor espresso. Plaats geen gemalen koe,

ongebrande koe of oploskoe in de koebonencontainer, omdat deze de

machine kunnen beschadigen.

Tip: verwarm de kopjes voor met heet water voor hetere koe.

1 Plaats de Espresso tray, zet een kopje onder de koetuit en beweeg de

koetuit omhoog of omlaag, afhankelijk van het formaat van het gebruikte

kopje.

2 Doorloop de verschillende pagina‘s om de gewenste koe te vinden en te

selecteren.

3 Nadat de gewenste koe geselecteerd is, kunt u met de toets " " twee

kopjes tegelijk zetten, behalve bij de AMERICANO.

3 Druk op de toets " ", tot " " geselecteerd is.

Opmerking: de functie "voorgemalen koe" sluit de mogelijkheid uit om twee

kopjes koe tegelijk te zetten en het aroma in te stellen, wat alleen mogelijk is met

koebonen.

4 Druk op de toets START/STOP

om de koeafgifte te starten.

Indien u de instellingen van de drank wilt aanpassen, zie dan het hoofdstuk

"Aanpassing van de dranken".

Opmerking: de afgifte kan op ieder moment onderbroken worden door op de toets

Koe-afgifte met voorgemalen koe

Gebruik de speciale meegeleverde maatlepel en doe de juiste dosis in het reservoir

voor voorgemalen koe.

1 Open het deksel van het reservoir voor voorgemalen koe, en voeg een

afgestreken maatlepel voorgemalen koe toe.

Let op: doe er niets anders dan voorgemalen koe in om de machine niet te

beschadigen.

2 Plaats een kopje onder de koetuit en selecteer de gewenste drank.

4 Druk tenslotte op de toets START/STOP

START/STOP

om de afgifte te starten.

Opmerking: de afgifte kan op ieder moment onderbroken worden door op de toets

Bereiding van dranken op basis van

koe en opgeschuimde melk

Let op: voordat u een drank op basis van koe en melk of opgeschuimde

melk kiest, moet u ervoor zorgen dat de melkkan is geïnstalleerd en dat de

schenkinrichting voor melk geopend is. Als de melkkan niet goed is geïnstalleerd,

kan er uit de schenkinrichting voor melk stoom of hete melk sproeien.

2 Schenk de melk in de kan: de hoeveelheid melk dient tussen het

minimumniveau (MIN) en het maximumniveau (MAX) aangeduid op de

melkkan te liggen. Doe het deksel er weer op.

Vullen van de melkkan

Opmerking: Maak de melkkaraf grondig schoon voordat u hem gebruikt,

zoals beschreven in het hoofdstuk "Reiniging van de melkkan".

De melkkan kan voor of tijdens het gebruik gevuld worden.

Plaatsing van de melkkan

Indien geïnstalleerd, verwijder dan de schenkinrichting voor water:

1 Druk op de twee toetsen aan de zijkant om de schenkinrichting los te maken

en til deze een klein beetje op;

2 Trek aan de schenkinrichting voor water om deze te verwijderen.

Opmerking: Plaats de kan niet met kracht.

3 Houd de melkkan een beetje schuin. Plaats hem helemaal in de geleiders van

de machine.

4 Druk en draai de kan naar beneden totdat deze bevestigd wordt aan het

lekbakje.

Afgifte van dranken op basis van koe en

opgeschuimde melk

Tip: gebruik koude melk (op een temperatuur van ongeveer 5 °C) met een

proteïnegehalte van minstens 3% voor het beste schuimresultaat. U kunt zowel

volle als halfvolle melk gebruiken. U kunt daarnaast ook magere melk, sojamelk en

lactosevrije melk gebruiken.

1 Trek de schenkinrichting van de melk naar rechts tot het symbool.

Opmerking: als de schenkinrichting van de melk er niet helemaal uitgetrokken

wordt, kan het zijn dat de melk niet goed opgeschuimd wordt.

2 Plaats een kopje onder de geopende schenkinrichting van de melk.

3 Druk op de toets HOME

en kies uw drank op het menu.

- Druk op de toets van de gewenste drank.

- Druk op de toets START/STOP

om de afgifte van de gekozen drank te

4 De machine geeft een vooraf bepaald volume opgeschuimde melk en koe af

in het kopje of in de beker. Afhankelijk van de gekozen drank, wordt eerst de

koe of eerst de opgeschuimde melk afgegeven.

Indien u de instellingen van de drank wilt aanpassen, zie dan het hoofdstuk

"Aanpassing van de dranken".

Verwijdering van de melkkan

Draai de kan naar boven totdat deze soepel uit de inzet op het lekbakje

loskomt. Verwijder hem vervolgens.

kunt u binnen 10 seconden de procedure voor snelle reiniging van het

Aanpassing van de dranken en opslag

van de instellingen (MEMO)

Met deze machine kunt u de instellingen van een drank aanpassen aan uw

voorkeuren en deze opslaan (MEMO), door de vorige instellingen te overschrijven.

Aanpassing van de dranken

1 Druk op de toets HOME

HOME

2 Kies uw drank.

3 Op het scherm worden alle instellingen weergegeven die u kunt aanpassen en/

of selecteren op basis van uw voorkeuren. Al naargelang het type drank, kan u

de volgende waarden afstellen of selecteren:

- het volume van de koe en van de melk;

- de temperatuur van de koe;

- de afgifte van twee kopjes tegelijkertijd;

- het gebruik van voorgemalen koe;

- de intensiteit van het aroma (enkel bij gebruik van koebonen);

4 Na de toets "KOFFIE " of de toets "MELK ", ingedrukt te hebben,

gebruikt u de groene toetsen " " en " " om het gewenste volume in te

stellen.

Druk vervolgens op de knop " " om te bevestigen en terug te keren naar het

vorige scherm, waar de nieuwe ingestelde hoeveelheid weergegeven wordt.

5 Druk de toets "TEMP " meerdere malen in om de temperatuur van de

drank te wijzigen met de volgende opties:

- laag;

- gemidd.;

- hoog;

6 Druk op de toets " " om twee kopjes te zetten, of op de toets " " om

slechts een kopje te zetten. De afbeelding van de drank in het midden van het

display geeft het gekozen aantal kopjes weer.

Opmerking: deze functie kan niet gebruikt worden voor de dranken met melk, de

AMERICANO en HEET WATER.

7 Druk op de toets " " om de intensiteit van het aroma te wijzigen of

de voorgemalen koe te selecteren. U kunt kiezen uit 5 verschillende

intensiteitsniveaus. Bij elke druk op de toets " ", wordt de intensiteit van het

aroma met een graad gewijzigd. Het display toont de gekozen intensiteit of de

selectie van voorgemalen koe.

8 Nadat u de drank aan uw smaak hebt aangepast, kunt u de afgifte starten met

START/STOP

9 Als u een van de bovenstaande parameters heeft gewijzigd, wordt u aan het

einde van de afgifte gevraagd of u het recept met de aangebrachte wijzigingen

wilt opslaan.

Let op: de nieuwe opgeslagen instellingen overschrijven die van het vorige recept.

Opmerking : om terug te gaan naar de fabrieksinstellingen van de recepten zijn er

twee opties:

- voer handmatig voor iedere drank de instellingen in die zijn aangegeven in de

paragraaf "Type drank" en sla deze op;

- reset alle dranken via " Standaardinstellingen " in het menu "INSTELLINGEN";

Aanpassing van de maaljnheid

U kunt de maaljnheid aanpassen met de instelknop voor de maaljnheid die zich

in het koebonenreservoir bevindt. De keramische koemolen garandeert een

perfecte en homogene maling voor de bereiding van elk kopje koe. Het aroma

Opmerking: de maaljnheid kan enkel afgesteld worden terwijl de machine de

koebonen maalt. Het verschil in smaak zal na de afgifte van 2-3 kopjes koe

geproefd worden.

Let op: om beschadiging van de koemolen te voorkomen, de selectieknop van de

maaljnheid niet meer dan één klik tegelijk draaien.

1 Plaats een kopje onder de koetuit.

2 Open het deksel van het koebonenreservoir.

3 Zet een espresso zoals beschreven in het hoofdstuk "Afgifte van koe met

koebonen".

4 Terwijl de machine de koe maalt, drukt u op de instelknop van de

maaljnheid in het koebonenreservoir en draait u deze met één klik per keer

naar links of rechts.

5 Er zijn 5 verschillende graden van maaljnheid beschikbaar waaruit u kunt

kiezen. Hoe kleiner het streepje, des te sterker en voller de koe.

Reiniging en onderhoud

Regelmatige reiniging en onderhoud houden de machine in optimale staat en

garanderen een altijd uitstekende koe, constante doorstroming en voortreffelijk

melkschuim. Raadpleeg de onderstaande tabel om te weten wanneer en hoe u

alle verwijderbare delen van de machine moet reinigen. Lees de desbetreffende

hoofdstukken voor meer gedetailleerde informatie.

melkcircuit met heet water.

- Programma voor intensieve reiniging

Het programma voor intensieve reiniging van de melkkan bestaat uit

een zorgvuldige reiniging van het hele melkcircuit met gebruik van het

reinigingsproduct voor de melkcircuits van Philips "Milk Circuit Cleaner".

Reiniging van de melkkan onder stromend water

De schenkinrichting voor melk bestaat uit 5 onderdelen. U kunt alle onderdelen

(behalve het melkreservoir) ook in de vaatwasser reinigen.

1 Melkslang

5 Behuizing van de schenkinrichting voor de melk

1 Verwijder het deksel van de melkafgifte-unit (afb. 21).

2 Druk op de ontgrendelingsknoppen aan beide zijden van de bovenkant van de

melkafgifte-unit (1) en trek de bovenkant van de melkhouder (2) naar buiten

(afb. 22).

3 Trek de schenkinrichting voor de melk uit de afgifte-unit (afb. 23).

4 Voor het demonteren van de schenkinrichting:

- Draai de melkafgifte-unit ondersteboven en houd hem stevig in de hand.

Trek de melkslang uit de houder (afb. 24);

- Druk op de ontgrendelingsknoppen op de Pannarello en haal de Pannarello

uit de rubberen houder (afb. 25);

- Trek de aansluiting uit de Pannarello (afb. 26);

5 Was alle onderdelen onder stromend water.

6 Plaats na de reiniging alle onderdelen terug door de procedure in omgekeerde

volgorde uit te voeren.

Reiniging van de zetgroep

Let op: reinig de zetgroep niet in de vaatwasmachine en gebruik geen afwas- of

reinigingsmiddelen, omdat dit de zetgroep kan beschadigen en de smaak van de

koe kan beïnvloeden.

Verwijdering van de zetgroep

1 Schakel de machine uit en koppel de voedingskabel los.

2 Verwijder het lekbakje met het koeresidureservoir.

3 Open de servicedeur.

4 Druk op de PUSH-hendel (indrukken) (1) en trek aan de handgreep van de

zetgroep (2) om deze uit de machine te halen.

Reiniging van de zetgroep onder stromend water

1 Reinig de koeleiding grondig met de steel van een lepeltje of met een ander

Terugplaatsen van de zetgroep

dat de twee gele referentietekens aan de zijkant overeenkomen. Indien dit niet

zo is, doet u als volgt:

Om de haak correct te plaatsen, duwt u hem omhoog tot de maximaal bereikbare

positie.

is.

3 Verwijder de koeopvanglade.

4 Plaats de zetgroep opnieuw in de machine langs de geleiders aan de zijkanten

totdat hij met een klik op zijn plaats blokkeert.

Let op: druk niet op de hendel PUSH.

5 Sluit de servicedeur.

Reiniging van de zetgroep met tabletten om de

olieachtige resten van de koe te verwijderen

Let op: Gebruik voor het schoonmaken alleen Gaggia-tabletten om de olieachtige

resten van de koe te verwijderen.

1 Plaats een bakje onder de koetuit.

Smering van de zetgroep

Om optimale machineprestaties te garanderen, moet de zetgroep gesmeerd

worden. Raadpleeg de volgende tabel voor de smeerfrequentie.

Ontkalking

Ontkalkingsprocedure

Wanneer de machine daarom vraagt, moet de ontkalking worden uitgevoerd.

Gebruik alleen de ontkalkingsoplossing van Gaggia die ontwikkeld is om optimale

machineprestaties te garanderen. Het gebruik van andere producten zou schade

aan de machine kunnen veroorzaken en resten in het water kunnen achterlaten.

Indien de ontkalking van de machine niet uitgevoerd wordt, vervalt de garantie.

1 Druk op de toets CLEAN/SET

2 Verwijder het lekbakje met het koeresidureservoir, leeg ze en plaats ze terug

in de machine.

3 Verwijder het waterreservoir en leeg het. Verwijder vervolgens, indien aanwezig,

het lter INTENZA+.

4 Giet de hele es Gaggia-ontkalkingsoplossing in het waterreservoir en vul het

met water tot u het niveau CALC CLEAN bereikt. Plaats het vervolgens weer in

de machine.

5 Vul de melkkan voor de helft met water en plaats hem in de machine.

6 Plaats een grote bak (1,5l) onder de schenkinrichting voor melk en de koetuit.

7 Volg de aanwijzingen die weergegeven worden op het display om de

ontkalkingsprocedure te starten. Deze procedure duurt ongeveer 25 minuten

en bestaat uit een ontkalkingscyclus en een spoelcyclus, uitgevoerd met

regelmatige afgiftes.

8 Als de ontkalkingscyclus voltooid is, moet u het reservoir, de melkkan en het

watercircuit spoelen volgens de instructies op het display.

9 Plaats het lter INTENZA+ weer in het waterreservoir.

Opmerking: de procedure kan op ieder moment onderbroken worden door op de

toets START/STOP

START/STOP

te drukken.

Let op: wanneer de ontkalkingsprocedure actief is, is het niet mogelijk om de

zetgroep te verwijderen. Wacht tot het ontkalkingsproces voltooid is en verwijder

dan de zetgroep.

Wat te doen in geval van onderbreking van de

ontkalkingsprocedure

U kunt de ontkalkingsprocedure beëindigen door de toets ON/OFF

controlepaneel enkele seconden ingedrukt te houden. Als de ontkalkingsprocedure

onderbroken wordt voordat deze is voltooid, voer dan het volgende uit:

1 Leeg het waterreservoir en reinig het zorgvuldig.

2 Vul het waterreservoir met stromend water tot aan de indicatie van het

CALC CLEAN-niveau en schakel de machine opnieuw in. De machine wordt

voorverwarmd en voert een automatische spoelcyclus uit.

3 Voer, voordat u een drank klaarmaakt, een handmatige spoelcyclus uit zoals

beschreven in het betreffende hoofdstuk.

Opmerking: als de procedure niet voltooid is, moet er zo snel mogelijk nog een

ontkalkingsprocedure uitgevoerd worden.

Betekenis van de foutcodes

Hieronder staan een aantal foutcodes die het display kan weergeven, hun betekenis

en hoe het probleem op te lossen. Als de aangegeven oplossingen niet werken

en het display het pictogram van de foutcode blijft weergeven en de machine niet

correct werkt, of als er andere foutcodes worden weergegeven, moet u contact

opnemen met een erkend servicecentrum of met de dealers in uw land.

Podczas pierwszej instalacji należy ustawić twardość wody.

Wyjąć z opakowania pasek testowy do pomiaru twardości wody i postępować

zmienić twardość wody w innym momencie, należy nacisnąć przycisk CLEAN/SET

Przygotowywanie napojów na bazie

kawy i spienionego mleka

Uwaga: przed wybraniem napoju na bazie kawy i mleka, lub spienionego mleka,

sprawdzić, czy dzbanek na mleko jest zainstalowany i dozownik mleka jest

otwarty. Jeżeli dzbanek na mleko nie został prawidłowo zainstalowany, dozownik

mleka może pryskać para lub gorące mleko.

2 Wlać mleko do dzbanka: mleko musi znajdować się między poziomem

minimalnym (MIN) i poziomem maksymalnym (MAX) oznaczonym na

Jednostki miary

Wybierając opcję „JEDNOSTKI MIARY”:

można ustawić jednostkę miary w „ml” lub „uncjach”.

Licznik napojów

Dla każdego napoju można wyświetlić liczbę liżanek przygotowanych od

momentu pierwszego uruchomienia urządzenia. Danych tych nie można

Ustawienia fabryczne

Ustawienia urządzenia można przywrócić do wartości fabrycznych. Urządzenie

zażąda podwójnego potwierdzenia, zanim będzie można przejść dalej.

Twardość wody

Po wybraniu opcji „TWARDOŚĆ WODY” postępować zgodnie z instrukcjami na

wyświetlaczu i z opisem w rozdziale „Pomiar twardości wody”.

Dźwięk przycisków

Jeśli przeszkadza dźwięk przycisków, można go wyłączyć, naciskając „OFF”.

Poniżej wymieniono niektóre kody błędów, jakie mogą się pojawiać na

wyświetlaczu, ich znaczenie oraz instrukcje rozwiązania problemów. Jeśli

wskazane rozwiązania okażą się nieskuteczne, ponieważ na wyświetlaczu nadal

będzie wyświetlana ikona kodu błędu i urządzenie nie zacznie działać prawidłowo,

lub gdyby pojawiły się inne kody błędu, należy się skontaktować z autoryzowanym

centrum obsługi klienta lub z dystrybutorami w swoim kraju.

Sprawdzić, czy komora zbiornika na wodę

jest czysta.

W przypadku korzystania z ltra

„INTENZA+”: wyjąć ltr ze zbiornika na

wodę i potrząsnąć nim, aby usunąć z

ltra całe powietrze. Następnie włożyć

ponownie ltr „INTENZA+” do zbiornika na

wodę.

14 Urządzenie jest

przegrzane.

Przyczyn może być

występować w tym urządzeniu. Jeśli problemu nie uda się rozwiązać, korzystając

Centrum obsługi klienta bądź dystrybutorami w swoim kraju.

wyłączone, wtedy licznik cykli kawy nie zeruje

się. Wówczas na wyświetlaczu widoczna jest

wspomniana ikona, nawet jeśli pojemnik nie

jest pełny.

Pojemnik na fusy został ustawiony

zbyt szybko.

Poczekać zawsze około 5 sekund, kiedy

ustawia się na miejscu pojemnik na fusy.

Wówczas licznik wyzeruje się.

Urządzenie żąda

nałożona na ltr „INTENZA+”.

Sprawdzić opakowanie i nałożyć uszczelkę na

Nie można uaktywnić

ltra „INTENZA+”.

Jest już aktywny ltr. Urządzenie wskazuje wykorzystanie ltra

w procentach. Jeśli zamierza się mimo to

aktywować nowy ltr, przed utratą ważności

ltra używanego, ten ostatni należy najpierw

zdezaktywować, jak opisano w punkcie
