Manuel d’utilisation
Utilisant la technologie IPL (lumière intense pulsée), l’épilateur
Homelight® de BaByliss élimine durablement les poils indésirables en
toute sécurité, dans l’intimité et le confort de votre domicile.
Homelight® s’utilise sur le corps (notamment les jambes, les bras et
le dos), les zones sensibles (les aisselles, le maillot) et le visage (joues,
lèvres et menton) grâce à la lampe ash spéciale visage.
Homelight® s’adresse aux hommes et aux femmes âgés de plus de 18
ans.
Avant d’utiliser Homelight® pour la première fois, veuillez lire
attentivement ce manuel d’utilisation dans son intégralité.
Nous vous recommandons de consulter ce manuel avant chaque
utilisation de Homelight®.

1. Consignes de sécurité
ATTENTION
• Lire attentivement les précautions d’emploi pour éviter les effets
secondaires cutanés indésirables ou les lésions oculaires graves.
• Ne pas traiter la même zone de peau plus d’une fois par séance !
• Ne pas utiliser sur et à proximité des yeux. L’appareil n’est pas
prévu pour l’épilation des cils et des sourcils.
• La surface d’application doit être entièrement en contact avec
l’épiderme avant de libérer une impulsion lumineuse. Ne jamais
pointer la surface d’application de l’appareil pour émettre une
impulsion de lumière dans un espace ouvert.
• La surface d’application devient chaude en utilisation prolongée.
• Consulter votre médecin traitant ou votre dermatologue:
- si vous avez pris des médicaments photo-sensibilisants ou
appliqué récemment des crèmes photo-sensibilisantes ou des
huiles essentielles.
- si vous avez le moindre doute concernant les risques présentés
pour vous au sujet de l’utilisation de l’appareil.
SECURITE
• Cet appareil n’est pas prévu pour être utilisé par des enfants
et des personnes dont les capacités physiques, sensorielles ou
mentales sont réduites, ou des personnes dénuées d’expérience
ou de connaissance, sauf si elles ont pu bénéficier, par
l’intermédiaire d’une personne responsable de leur sécurité,
d’une surveillance ou d’instructions préalables concernant

l’utilisation de l’appareil. Il convient de surveiller les enfants pour
s’assurer qu’ils ne jouent pas avec l’appareil.
• ATTENTION : les sachets en polyéthylène contenant le
produit ou son emballage peuvent être dangereux. Tenir
ces sachets hors de portée des bébés et des enfants.
• Ne pas les utiliser dans les berceaux, les lits d’enfants, les
poussettes ou les parcs pour bébés. Le fin film peut coller au nez
et à la bouche et empêcher la respiration. Un sachet n’est pas un
jouet.
• ATTENTION: ne pas utiliser au-dessus ou à proximité de
lavabos, baignoires, douches ou autres récipients
contenant de l’eau. Maintenir l’appareil au sec.
• Utiliser exclusivement l’adaptateur fourni.
• Si l’adaptateur ou le cordon d’alimentation est endommagé ou
si l’appareil est cassé, endommagé et nécessite une réparation,
contacter le service après vente afin d’éviter un danger. Ne pas
essayer d’ouvrir et de réparer vous-même l’appareil. Cela vous
exposerait à de dangereux composants électriques et à l’énergie
de la lumière pulsée, pouvant causer de graves dommages
corporels et/ou des blessures oculaires irréversibles.
• Maintenir l’adaptateur à distance de toute source de chaleur.
• Ne pas utiliser l’appareil s’il est tombé ou s’il présente des traces
apparentes de dommages.
• Débrancher immédiatement en cas de problèmes en cours
d’utilisation.
• Utiliser exclusivement les accessoires recommandés par BaByliss.

• Ne pas laisser l’appareil sans surveillance lorsqu’il est branché.
• Débrancher l’appareil après chaque utilisation et avant de le
nettoyer.
• Afin de ne pas endommager le cordon, ne pas l’enrouler autour
de l’appareil et veiller à le ranger sans le tordre ou le plier.
• Arrêter d’utiliser immédiatement
- si vous constatez une anomalie
- si l’appareil présente une défectuosité, génère un bruit ou une
odeur anormale
- si la lampe flash présente une fissure ou des taches
- si la surface d’application est cassée
- si le bouton ON-OFF devient rouge.
CONTRE-INDICATIONS
Ne pas utiliser en cas de ...
• État anormal de la peau dans la région à traiter : Taches
brunes ou noires, de rousseur, de naissance, verrues ou naevus
pigmentés.
• Eczéma, psoriasis, lésions, plaies ouvertes ou infection évolutive
• Poils blancs, gris ou blonds clairs sur la zone à traiter
• Grossesse ou allaitement.
• Peau foncée. L’utilisation de l’appareil sur la peau foncée peut
entraîner des effets secondaires, tels que des brûlures, des
cloques et des changements de couleur de peau (hyper ou hypo-
pigmentation).
• Forte exposition au soleil ou à une machine UV au cours des 28

derniers jours.
• Tatouage ou maquillage permanent sur la zone à traiter.
• Antécédents de formation de chéloïdes, une sensibilité connue
à la lumière (ou photosensibilité comme la porphyrie, l’éruption
polymorphe à la lumière, urticaire solaire, lupus, etc.) ou causée
par des médicaments, y compris la prise de médicaments anti-
inflammatoires non stéroïdiens (p.ex. : aspirines, ibuprofènes,
acétaminophène), tétracyclines, phénothiazines, thiazide,
diurétiques, sulfonyluraes, sulfamides, DTIC, fluorouracile,
vinblastine, griseofulvin, Alpha-Hydroxy, Acides (AHAs), Acides
Beta-Hydroxy (ABHs), Retin-A®, Accutane® (isotrétinoïne, en
cas de traitement au cours des 6 derniers mois) ou rétinoïdes
topiques (ou d’acide azelaïque).
• État anormal de la peau causé par un diabète, par exemple, ou
par d’autres maladies systémiques ou métaboliques.
• Antécédent de poussée d’herpès sur la zone à traiter, à moins
d’avoir consulté un médecin et reçu un traitement préventif.
• Épilepsie.
• Implant actif, tel qu’un stimulateur cardiaque, un implant pour
incontinence urinaire, une pompe à insuline, etc.
• Vaccination récente.
• Antécédent de cancer de la peau ou zones sujettes à des
malignités dermiques.
• Radiothérapie, chimiothérapie ou régime à base de stéroïdes au
cours des 3 derniers mois.
• Tout autre traitement dermatologique basé sur la lumière

(laser...).
• Tout autre cas que votre médecin jugerait risqué pour le
traitement.
PRECAUTIONS D’EMPLOI
• Ne pas utiliser à d’autres fins que l’épilation.
• Ne pas utiliser sur des enfants.
• Avant utilisation :
- S’assurer que la peau est propre (sans trace de lotion,
maquillage, déodorant, crème autobronzante...)
- Raser la région à traiter (sauf sur le visage).
• Effectuer un test 48 heures avant la première utilisation (voir
chapitre 3.2. «Réaliser un test avec Homelight®» ).
• Veiller également à maintenir propre la surface d’application de
l’appareil (voir chapitre 4.2. «Nettoyage» ).
• Pour éviter les effets secondaires :
- Sélectionner le niveau de puissance recommandé pour votre type
de couleur de peau (voir chapitre 2.3. «Skin Sensor System»).
- Respecter la fréquence d’utilisation de l’appareil en suivant
le calendrier des séances recommandé (voir chapitre 2.4.
«Planification des séances»).
• Consulter votre médecin traitant ou votre dermatologue si vous
ressentez un inconfort persistant après utilisation ou si vous
constatez des effets secondaires sur votre peau.
• Ne pas utiliser sur une peau bronzée ou après une récente
exposition au soleil!
• Ne pas s’exposer aux rayons du soleil sans protection ou aux UV

“S’exposer aux rayons du soleil sans protection” signifie s’exposer
sans protection aux rayons directs pendant une durée continue
d’une quinzaine de minutes ou s’exposer sans protection aux
rayons indirects pendant une heure en continu.
• En cas d’exposition aux rayons du soleil, utiliser une protection
convenable, comme un vêtement couvrant ou une crème solaire
(dont l’indice de protection est supérieur à 50), qui devra être
utilisée régulièrement 3 semaines avant et après le traitement.
• Si des brûlures ou des cloques apparaissent, arrêter
immédiatement l’utilisation !
• Couvrir les marques de naissance, les tatouages, les taches
brunes ou noires, de rousseur, de naissance, les verrues ou les
excroissances avant utilisation.
• Ne pas utiliser sur le scrotum, le vagin, les petites lèvres, l’anus,
les mamelons, les aréoles, l’intérieur des oreilles et du nez.
• Ne pas utiliser sur toute partie du corps où vous pourriez vouloir
une pilosité ultérieurement.
• Ne jamais utiliser de liquides inflammables, comme de l’alcool
(y compris parfum, désodorisant ou toute autre composition
contenant de l’alcool) ou de l’acétone pour nettoyer la peau
avant l’utilisation de Homelight®.

2. Fonctionnement de Homelight®
Homelight® de BaByliss est un épilateur personnel qui élimine
ecacement et durablement les poils indésirables et prévient la
repousse des poils grâce à la technologie IPL (lumière intense pulsée).
2.1. Technologie IPL
Utilisant la technologie IPL, Homelight® élimine les poils sans douleur
grâce à l’émission d’une impulsion lumineuse. L’impulsion lumineuse
cible le pigment présent dans le poil (mélanine) et pour atteindre la
racine et prévenir la repousse du poil. Ainsi, plus le poil contient de
mélanine (c.-à-d. plus le poil est foncé), plus le poil peut absorber
de lumière et plus les résultats sont probants. La technologie IPL a
été utilisée partout par les professionnels depuis plus de 15 ans et
a fait l’objet d’études cliniques qui ont prouvé son ecacité et son
innocuité.
2.2. Cycle de croissance du poil
Le cycle de croissance du poil joue un rôle important dans le
processus d’épilation par IPL avec Homelight®. Il est donc important
de comprendre le fonctionnement du cycle complet de croissance du
poil pour obtenir des résultats durables avec Homelight®.
Le cycle de croissance du poil est composé de trois phases successives:
• Anagène (phase de croissance du poil)
• Catagène (phase de transition du poil)
• Télogène (phase de repos du poil)

La durée du cycle complet de croissance du poil se situe entre 18 mois
et 24 mois en moyenne. La majorité des poils se trouvent dans une des
deux phases de repos (catagène et télogène).
Homelight® n’a aucun eet sur les poils en phases de repos. En
revanche, Homelight® agira sur les poils en phase de croissance
(anagène). Plusieurs séances d’épilation avec Homelight® sont donc
nécessaires pour agir sur l’ensemble des poils et pour obtenir des
résultats durables.
2.3. Skin Sensor System - détection automatique du niveau
d’intensité
Homelight® ore 5 niveaux d’intensité allant du niveau d’intensité le
plus faible (niveau 1) au niveau d’intensité le plus élevé (niveau 5).
Le niveau d’intensité désigne l’intensité de l’impulsion lumineuse
administrée sur la peau lors de l’utilisation de Homelight®.

Il est donc important de régler le niveau d’intensité en fonction de
votre couleur de peau. Les peaux plus foncées et donc plus chargées
en mélanine supportant des niveaux d’intensité moins élevés que les
peaux plus claires.
Pour vous orir un traitement ecace en toute sécurité, Homelight®
est équipé du Skin Sensor System, système de détection de la couleur
de peau avec réglage automatique de l’intensité lumineuse appliquée
sur la peau.

2.4. Planication des séances d’épilation avec Homelight®
Planiez vos séances d’épilation avec Homelight® à l’avance!
Il est recommandé de suivre le calendrier ci-dessous, car il a donné
d’excellents résultats:
• Les 4 premières séances d’épilation avec Homelight® doivent être
espacées de 2 semaines.
• Les séances d’épilation suivantes avec Homelight® doivent être
espacées de 4 semaines (jusqu’à obtention du résultat souhaité).
• Ensuite, en cas de repousse du poil, vous utiliserez Homelight®
occasionnellement, jusqu’à obtenir des résultats durables, en
espaçant les séances d’épilation de 4 semaines minimum.

• Traiter la même zone plus d’une fois en deux semaines ne donne pas
de meilleurs résultats et risque de provoquer des eets indésirables.

• Il est recommandé d’utiliser Homelight® de manière raisonnable,
c’est-à-dire de ne pas renouveler le traitement avec Homelight®
indéniment. Un traitement complet (7 à 8 séances d’épilation au
total) réalisé une fois par an est susant pour obtenir des résultats
très satisfaisants.
N.B: En raison des facteurs hormonaux et des changements
physiologiques, les poils au repos peuvent devenir actifs. Des séances
d’épilation en entretien avec Homelight® peuvent être eectuées (en
espaçant les séances de 4 semaines minimum).

2.6. Résultats escomptés de l’épilation avec Homelight®
L’ecacité de Homelight® peut varier :
• d’une personne à l’autre,
• en fonction de la région traitée,
• en fonction de la couleur des poils.
Attention: Homelight® n’est pas ecace contre les poils blancs, gris ou
blonds clairs. Les poils blancs, gris ou blonds clairs sont peu chargés en
mélanine et ne répondent pas de manière satisfaisante au traitement
à la lumière pulsée avec Homelight®.
N.B :
- Il est assez commun que les poils donnent l’impression de continuer
à pousser durant une à deux semaines après une séance d’épilation
avec Homelight® (phénomène d’éjection). Après deux semaines, vous
constaterez toutefois que ces poils tombent ou se détachent de leur
follicule. Nous vous recommandons de ne pas de tirer sur les poils pour
qu’ils se détachent. Laissez tomber les poils naturellement.
- Il est possible que certains poils repoussent plus clairs et plus ns après
une épilation avec Homelight®. Ce phénomène est bien documenté par
les esthéticiennes et les médecins qui utilisent les appareils à la lumière
pulsée pour les traitements d’épilation.
2.7. Dispositif de protection des yeux
Grâce à un dispositif intégré de protection des yeux, Homelight®
libère des impulsions lumineuses uniquement lorsque la surface
d’application est en contact total avec la peau.

3. Utilisation de Homelight®
3.1. Préparation de la peau
Corps
Avant l’utilisation de Homelight® sur le corps, votre peau doit être rasée
(24 heures à l’avance), propre, sèche et sans résidu de poudre ou de
déodorant. Attention : ne vous épilez pas (avec un épilateur électrique, à
la pince à épiler ou à la cire) avant d’utiliser Homelight® . L’épilation (retrait
des poils à la racine) rendrait inecace le traitement par la lumière pulsée
(IPL).
Visage
Ne rasez pas les diérentes zones du visage avant utilisation.
Avant l’utilisation de Homelight® sur le visage, retirez toute trace de
crème, lotion ou maquillage.
Attention : ne vous épilez pas (avec un épilateur électrique, à la pince à
épiler ou à la cire) avant d’utiliser Homelight® . L’épilation (retrait des poils
à la racine) rendrait inecace le traitement par la lumière pulsée (IPL).

3.2. Réaliser un test avec Homelight®
48 heures avant la première utilisation, eectuez un
test avec Homelight®.
1. Branchez la che du cordon de l’adaptateur dans la prise de
l’appareil Homelight® (située sur la poignée de l’appareil) (FIG. 1).
2. Branchez l’autre extrémité de l’adaptateur à une prise secteur.
> Le bouton ON/OFF s’allume et présente une couleur
orange (FIG. 2).
3. Allumez l’appareil en appuyant sur le bouton ON-OFF (FIG. 3).
> Le bouton ON-OFF devient vert.
> Le témoin lumineux du niveau de puissance 1 est allumé.
Le niveau 1 étant programmé par défaut à l’allumage de
l’appareil (FIG. 4).
4. Placez le Skin Sensor de l’appareil sur la zone de peau où vous
souhaitez eectuer le test (nous vous recommandons de le faire sur
une jambe) (FIG. 5)
> Le ou les témoin(s) lumineux indicateur(s) du niveau
d’intensité s’allume(nt) et clignote(nt) attestant que
l’appareil a détecté avec succès le phototype de la
zone de peau à épiler et a adapté le niveau d’énergie
automatiquement (FIG. 6).
5. Appuyez une fois sur le déclencheur pour valider (FIG. 7)
> Le ou les témoin(s) lumineux indicateur(s) du niveau
d’intensité cesse(nt) de clignoter (FIG. 8).
6. Positionnez la surface d’application sur la zone de peau détectée et
maintenir fermement l’appareil en position pour que le contact soit
total.

> Le témoin lumineux Ready clignote quand l’appareil est
correctement positionné sur la peau et prêt à libérer une
impulsion lumineuse (FIG. 9)
7. Appuyez sur le déclencheur pour libérer une impulsion lumineuse
sur la peau (FIG. 10).
N.B : Il se peut que vous ressentiez une légère sensation de chaleur et des
picotements.
8. Déplacez la surface d’application sur une autre zone de peau et
appuyez sur le déclencheur pour une libérer une autre impulsion
lumineuse. Prenez garde à ne pas superposer les impulsions
lumineuses.
Si vous ne constatez pas de réactions anormales ou d’inconfort
(FIG. 11), après les 48 heures qui suivent le test, vous pouvez
commencer le traitement et passez au chapitre «Traitement avec
Homelight®».
Si votre peau ne réagit pas correctement au test (FIG. 12), si vous
constatez des réactions anormales ou d’inconfort après les 48 heures,
faites un second test au niveau 1 d’intensité quel que soit votre
phototype, sans tenir compte du Skin Sensor et attendez 48 heures.

- Si vous réagissez correctement à ce second test, procédez à la
première séance de traitement en sélectionnant manuellement le
niveau 1.
- Si votre peau ne réagit pas correctement à ce second test, il est
recommandé de ne pas utiliser l’appareil.
Pour les séances suivantes et en l’absence totale d’inconfort et
d’eets secondaires, vous avez la possibilité d’augmenter le niveau de
puissance graduellement et au fur et à mesure des séances tout en
respectant le schéma ci-dessous ou en vous aidant du Mémo du choix
d’intensité :

3.3. Traitement avec Homelight®
Il est recommandé de toujours utiliser le Skin Sensor sur votre peau
avant chaque séance d’épilation et à chaque changement de zone
de traitement.
1. Branchez la che du cordon de l’adaptateur dans la prise de
l’appareil Homelight® (située sur la poignée de l’appareil) (FIG. 1).
2. Branchez l’autre extrémité de l’adaptateur à une prise secteur.
> Le bouton ON/OFF s’allume et présente une couleur
orange (FIG. 2).
3. Allumez l’appareil en appuyant sur le bouton ON-OFF (FIG. 3).
> Le bouton ON-OFF devient vert.
> Le témoin lumineux du niveau de puissance 1 est allumé.
Le niveau 1 étant programmé par défaut à l’allumage de
l’appareil (FIG. 4).
4. Placez le Skin Sensor de l’appareil sur la zone de peau où vous
souhaitez eectuer le traitement (FIG. 16)
> Le ou les témoin(s) lumineux indicateur(s) du niveau
d’intensité s’allume(nt) et clignote(nt) attestant que
l’appareil a détecté avec succès le phototype de la
zone de peau à épiler et a adapté le niveau d’énergie
automatiquement (FIG. 17)
5. Appuyez une fois sur le déclencheur pour valider (FIG. 18)
> Le ou les témoin(s) lumineux indicateur(s) du niveau
d’intensité cesse(nt) de clignoter (FIG. 19).

6. Positionnez la surface d’application sur la zone de peau détectée et
maintenez fermement l’appareil en position pour que le contact soit
total.
> Le témoin lumineux Ready clignote quand l’appareil est
correctement positionné sur la peau et prêt à libérer une
impulsion lumineuse (FIG. 20)
7. Appuyez sur le déclencheur pour libérer une impulsion lumineuse
sur la peau. (FIG. 21)
N.B : Il se peut que vous ressentiez une légère sensation de chaleur et des
picotements.
8. Déplacez la surface d’application sur une autre zone de peau et
appuyez sur le déclencheur pour une libérer une autre impulsion
lumineuse. Prenez garde à ne pas superposer les impulsions
lumineuses.
Uniquement en l’absence totale d’eets secondaires à l’issue de la
séance précédente, vous pourrez augmenter le niveau de puissance
manuellement pour gagner en ecacité.
Si vous ressentez un quelconque inconfort, diminuez au niveau de
puissance inférieur.
NB : si un niveau non recommandé est atteint par commande
manuelle par rapport à la couleur de peau déterminée par le Skin
Sensor, le témoin lumineux du niveau de puissance en question
clignotera 3 fois pour signaler un niveau non-recommandé. Il est alors
recommandé de diminuer manuellement le niveau de puissance pour
atteindre un niveau autorisé.
3.4. Modes d’utilisation
Homelight® vous propose deux modes d’utilisation. Le mode précision
et le mode gliss.

A. Mode précision
Le mode précision permet un traitement sécurisé des
parties les plus inaccessibles et sensibles de votre
corps (visage, aisselles, maillot...).
Pour le traitement du visage, placez la lampe ash
spéciale visage sur la tête de l’appareil et suivez les
précautions d’emploi décrites dans le chapitre sur
l’épilation du visage avec Homelight®.
Etapes à suivre :
voir les étapes 1 à 8 du chapitre 3.3. «Traitement avec Homelight®»
B. Mode gliss
Avec le mode gliss, les impulsions lumineuses de votre
Homelight® sont libérées automatiquement en continu
sans manipulation supplémentaire (36 impulsions
lumineuses par minute en continu, au niveau 1).
Etapes à suivre :
1. Pour activer le mode gliss, reproduisez les étapes 1 et 6 du chapitre
3.3. «Traitement avec Homelight®». Appliquez ensuite correctement
la surface d’application de Homelight® sur votre peau tout en
maintenant le déclencheur de l’appareil enfoncé.
2. Faites glisser Homelight® sur votre peau de manière ininterrompue
en un geste lent et continu sans faire de mouvements ascendants et
descendants.
N.B:
• Si vous retirez Homelight® de votre peau tout en maintenant le
déclencheur enfoncé, le mode gliss reste actif. Mais, pour votre sécurité,

l’impulsion lumineuse n’est libérée qu’une fois Homelight® en contact
total avec votre peau. Veillez à ce que la surface d’application de
Homelight® soit en contact total avec la peau, pour garantir le mode
gliss.
• Si la surface d’application de Homelight® n’est pas en contact total avec
la peau, vous disposez de 5 secondes pour ajuster Homelight® pour que le
contact avec la peau soit total tout en veillant à maintenir le déclencheur
de l’appareil enfoncé. Passé le délai de 5 secondes, si le contact avec la
peau n’est pas total, le mode gliss est désactivé et vous devez relâcher le
déclencheur puis l’enfoncer à nouveau pour réactiver le mode gliss.
• Si vous soulevez l’appareil en relâchant le déclencheur, le mode gliss est
désactivé.
Le mode gliss convient pour les personnes ayant déjà une certaine
expérience et une certaine dextérité dans l’utilisation de Homelight®.
Avec ses 36 impulsions par minute (au niveau1), le mode gliss permet
un traitement sûr et rapide des zones plus larges du corps (jambes,
dos, bras, torse). Pour les zones sensibles et le visage, utilisez le mode
précision.
3.5. Couverture de la zone de traitement
Pour une bonne couverture de la zone de traitement, il faut
administrer sur votre peau les impulsions lumineuses par rangées,
d’une extrémité à l’autre et en procédant de façon systématique par
rangées successives. Vous éviterez ainsi les eets secondaires dus à la
superposition des impulsions lumineuses.
Les traces de la pression de la surface d’application de Homelight®
faites sur votre peau devraient vous aider à vous aligner correctement

pour administrer une nouvelle impulsion, évitant de superposer des
impulsions ou au contraire de trop les espacer.
3.6. Epilation du visage avec Homelight®
L’épilation du visage requiert une attention toute particulière; la peau
du visage étant particulièrement ne et sensible. Dans cette optique,
Homelight® est équipé d’une lampe ash spéciale visage. Ciblée et
ultra précise, la lampe ash spéciale visage limite le spectre lumineux
pour un traitement adapté à la sensibilité de la peau du visage.
Précautions d’emploi pour l’épilation du visage :
• Ne rasez pas les diérentes zones du visage avant utilisation.
• Veuillez utiliser impérativement la lampe ash spéciale visage pour
l’épilation du visage avec Homelight® .
• Homelight® convient uniquement pour l’épilation de la partie
inférieure du visage (joues, lèvre supérieure et menton).
• Homelight® ne convient pas pour l’épilation des cils, des cheveux et
des sourcils.
• Ne regardez pas la zone de peau traitée pendant l’impulsion
lumineuse.
• N’utilisez pas Homelight® autour des yeux.
• Homelight® ne convient pas au traitement de la barbe de l’homme.
• Pour votre confort et votre sécurité, nous vous recommandons
de vous faire aider par une autre personne pour l’utilisation de
Homelight® sur le visage lors des premières séances.
• Ne pas utiliser le mode gliss pour l’épilation du visage.
• Il est impératif d’attendre 5 secondes entre chaque impulsion
lumineuse, pour l’utilisation sur le visage. La durée de la séance

d’épilation avec Homelight® sur le visage ne doit pas excéder 10
minutes.
Placement de la lampe flash spéciale visage
Pour placer ou retirer la lampe ash spéciale visage, l’appareil doit être
éteint et débranché.
Saisissez délicatement la lampe ash spéciale visage entre le pouce et
l’index pour le placement ou le retrait.
N.B : Veuillez retirer la lampe ash spéciale visage et placer la lampe ash
spéciale corps sur l’appareil Homelight® pour le traitement des jambes,
dos et bras.
Attention surface chaude. Ne touchez pas la surface d’application de
la lampe ash spéciale visage avec les doigts.
4. Après l’utilisation de Homelight®
4.1. Eteindre Homelight®
A la n de votre séance d’épilation, éteignez Homelight® à l’aide du
bouton ON/OFF.
Débranchez l’adaptateur de la prise secteur.
N.B: Homelight® s’arrête automatiquement si vous n’utilisez pas
Homelight® pendant plus de 10 minutes. Le bouton ON/OFF présente
alors une couleur orange. Pour utiliser Homelight® à nouveau, vous devez
appuyer sur le bouton ON/OFF et devez sélectionner à nouveau le niveau
d’intensité requis.

4.2. Nettoyage
Nous vous recommandons de nettoyer Homelight® après chaque
séance d’épilation, en particulier la surface d’application :
• Débranchez Homelight® avant le nettoyage.
• Nettoyez délicatement la coque de Homelight® et surtout la surface
d’application à l’aide d’un chion sec et propre et d’un nettoyant
formulé pour nettoyer l’équipement électronique.
• Après le nettoyage, ranger Homelight® dans sa boîte d’origine et dans
un endroit sec et sûr.
4.3. Soins de la peau après votre séance d’épilation avec
Homelight®
N’exposez pas au soleil, sans protection, les zones de peau traitées
avec Homelight® pendant les 2 semaines qui suivent le traitement.
Protégez votre peau avec de l’écran solaire (indice de protection
supérieur à 50) ou un vêtement couvrant tout au long du traitement
et au moins deux semaines après la dernière séance d’épilation avec
Homelight®.
N’utilisez pas de crème parfumée ou de déodorant après votre séance
d’épilation sur les zones traitées avec Homelight®.
4.4. Eets secondaires éventuels
Les eets secondaires et les complications sont rares lorsque
Homelight® est utilisé conformément aux instructions décrites dans ce
manuel d’utilisation.
Il est normal de ressentir quelque inconfort après une séance
d’épilation avec Homelight®.
Cependant, tout traitement cosmétique, même conçu pour une
utilisation à domicile, comporte certains risques.
En cas de superposition ou administration répétée des impulsions
lumineuses de Homelight® sur la même zone de peau, il est possible

de ressentir ou de constater :
• Une sensation cutanée d’un léger désagrément: même si
Homelight® est généralement très bien tolérée, la plupart des
personnes qui l’utilisent ressentent un léger désagrément durant
l’utilisation, souvent décrit comme une sensation de picotements sur
la zone de peau traitée. En général, cette sensation de picotement
dure le temps de l’application, voire pendant les quelques minutes
qui suivent. Tout inconfort au-delà de ce désagrément est anormal et
signie que vous devriez, soit arrêter le traitement avec Homelight®,
car vous ne le tolérez pas, soit que le niveau d’intensité de l’impulsion
lumineuse sélectionné est trop élevé.
• Une rougeur: votre peau peut rougir juste après l’utilisation de
Homelight® ou dans les 24 heures qui suivent. La rougeur disparaît
généralement dans les 24 heures. Consultez votre médecin si la
rougeur persiste au-delà de 2 à 3 jours.
• Une hypersensibilité de la peau: la peau est plus sensible sur la zone
de peau traitée et pourrait s’assécher et s’écailler.
• Des brûlures ou plaies: très rarement, la peau peut être exposée à
des blessures ou des brûlures suite au traitement avec Homelight®.
Plusieurs semaines peuvent être nécessaires pour une guérison
totale et, dans des cas exceptionnels, une cicatrice peut subsister.
• Une cicatrice: même si ces cas sont très rares, des cicatrices
permanentes peuvent apparaître. Généralement, les cicatrices
prennent la forme d’une lésion supercielle de coloration blanchâtre
(hypotrophique). Toutefois, la cicatrice peut être large et rouge
(hypertrophique) ou large et étendue au-delà de la zone blessée
(chéloïde). Des traitements esthétiques plus poussés peuvent être
requis pour en améliorer l’apparence.
• Un changement de la pigmentation: Homelight® vise la racine
du poil, plus particulièrement les cellules pigmentées du bulbe.
Néanmoins, il existe un risque d’hyperpigmentation temporaire
(augmentation de la pigmentation ou décoloration marron) ou

d’hypopigmentation (blanchissement) de la peau alentour. Le
risque de changement de pigmentation est plus élevé chez les
personnes à la peau foncée. Généralement, le changement de
pigmentation et la décoloration de la peau sont temporaires. Les
cas d’hyperpigmentation ou d’hypopigmentation permanente sont
rares.
• Une rougeur excessive et enflure/gonflement: dans quelques
rares cas, la peau traitée avec Homelight® peut devenir très rouge et
gonée. Cette réaction est plus fréquente sur les zones sensibles du
corps. La rougeur et le gonement devraient disparaître sous 2 à 7
jours pendant lesquels vous appliquerez de la glace régulièrement.
Un nettoyage en douceur ne pose pas de problème, mais vous devez
éviter toute exposition au soleil.
• Une infection: une infection cutanée est extrêmement rare, mais
peut survenir après une brûlure ou une lésion de la peau provoquée
par Homelight®.
• Une ecchymose: très rarement, l’utilisation de Homelight® peut
provoquer une ecchymose bleu mauve pouvant perdurer de 5 à
10 jours. À mesure que le bleu disparaît, la peau peut prendre une
coloration rouille (hyperpigmentation) pouvant être permanente.
Consultez votre médecin, en cas de gêne ou d’inconfort persistant
pendant ou après le traitement avec Homelight®.
5. Dépannage
5.1. Problèmes rencontrés
Homelight® ne démarre pas
Vériez que l’adaptateur soit bien raccordé à votre Homelight®

Il n’y a pas d’impulsion lorsque vous appuyez sur le
déclencheur
• Assurez-vous que la surface d’application de Homelight® soit en
contact total avec la peau et que le témoin lumineux READY clignote.
• Assurez-vous que le témoin lumineux READY est allumé.
> Si au bout de 10 secondes, le témoin lumineux READY
reste éteint, éteignez et rallumez Homelight®, en appuyant
sur le bouton ON/OFF deux fois.
> Si le problème persiste, contactez le service client BaByliss
de votre région.
• Assurez-vous que le bouton ON/OFF est allumé.
> Si le bouton ON/OFF est allumé, éteignez et rallumez
l’appareil à l’aide du bouton ON/OFF
> Si le problème persiste, contactez le service client BaByliss
de votre région.
• Le bouton ON/OFF présente une couleur rouge et clignote
> Eteignez l’appareil. Homelight® se met en mode sécurité
car il a détecté une surchaue ou un problème critique
(ventilateur cassé, problème de condensateur…). Laissez
refroidir Homelight® pendant 15 minutes avant de
l’allumer à nouveau.
> Si le problème persiste, contactez le service client BaByliss
de votre région.
• Le bouton ON/OFF clignote en vert et rouge alternativement.
> L’adaptateur utilisé pour le raccordement de votre appareil
Homelight® à la prise secteur n’est pas celui fourni avec
votre appareil ou bien celui-ci est défectueux.
> Si le problème persiste, contactez le service client BaByliss
de votre région.
• Le bouton ON/OFF présente une couleur rouge.

1. Safety instructions
CAUTION
• Read the instructions for use carefully to avoid any undesired skin
side effects or severe eye damage.
• Do not treat the same area of skin more than once per session!
• Do not use on and near eyes. The appliance is not suitable for
depilating eyelashes and eyebrows.
• The application surface must be in full contact with the surface
of the skin before releasing a light pulse. Never aim the appliance
application surface to emit a light pulse in an open space.
• The application surface becomes hot with prolonged use.
• Consult your doctor or dermatologist:
- if you have taken photo-sensitising medicinal products or recently
applied photo-sensitising creams or essential oils.
- if you have any doubts about the risks involved for you in using the
appliance.

• This device is not intended for use by children and persons whose
physical, sensory or mental capacities are reduced, or by persons
who lack experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised
or have been given instructions beforehand on the use of the

Keep these sachets well away from babies and children.

• WARNING: do not use the device over or near washbasins,
bathtubs, showers or any other recipients containing

• If the adapter or power cord is damaged or if the appliance is

• Unplug it immediately if any problems occur during use.
• Only use the accessories recommended by BaByliss.
• Do not leave the device unattended when it is plugged in.
• Unplug the device from the mains each time after use and before
cleaning.
• To avoid damaging the cord, do not wind it around the device and

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in the event of...
• Abnormal skin condition in the treatment area: Sun spots, freckles,
birthmarks, warts or pigmented nevi.
• Eczema, psoriasis, cuts, open wounds or infection
• White, grey or light blonde hairs in the area to be treated
• Pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Dark brown skin. Use of the appliance on dark brown skin can
cause side effects such as burns, blistering and skin colour changes
(hyper- or hypo-pigmentation).
• High exposure to the sun or a UV sunbed within the last 28 days.
• Tattoos or permanent make-up in the treatment area.
• History of cheloid formation, known sensitivity to light (or
photosensitivity like porphyria, polymorphic light eruption, solar
urticaria, lupus etc.) or caused by medicinal products, including
taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g.: aspirin,

ibuprofen, acetaminophen), tetracyclines, phenothiazines,
thiazide, diuretics, sulfonylureas, sulphonamides, ETIC, fluorouracil,

Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), Retin-A®, Accutane® (isotretinoin, in the
event of treatment during the last 6 months) or topical retinoids (or
azelaic acid).
• Abnormal skin condition caused by diabetes or similar or by other
systemic or metabolic diseases.
• History of herpes flare-ups in the area to be treated, unless a doctor
has been consulted and preventive treatment received.
• Epilepsy.
• An active implant such as a pacemaker, a urinary incontinence
implant, an insulin pump, etc.
• A recent vaccination.
• History of skin cancer or areas prone to dermal malignancies.
• Radiotherapy, chemotherapy or steroid-based treatment in the last
3 months.
• Any other light-based dermatological treatment (laser, etc.).
• Any other situation your doctor may determine as hazardous for
the treatment.

• Do not use for any purpose other than depilation.
• Do not use on children.

- Make sure that the skin is clean (not trace of lotion, make-up,
deodorant, tanning cream, etc.)
- Shave the region to be treated (except for the face).
• Carry out a test 48 hours before first use (see chapter 3.2. “Carrying
out a test with Homelight®”).
• Make sure that the appliance application surface is kept clean (see
chapter 4.2. “Cleaning”).
• To avoid side effects:
- Select the recommended power level for your skin colour type (see
chapter 2.3. “Skin Sensor System”).
- Respect the frequency of appliance use by following the
recommended session planner (see chapter 2.4. “Sessions
planner”).
• Consult your doctor or dermatologist if you feel any persistent
discomfort after use or if you note any side effects on your skin.

“Exposing yourself to sunlight without protection” means exposing
yourself to direct sunlight for a continuous period of fifteen minutes
or exposing yourself to indirect sunlight continuously for an hour.
If you are exposed to sunlight, use adequate protection, such as
a garment or sunscreen (with SPF over 50), which must be used
regularly for the 3 weeks before and after treatment.
• If burns or blisters appear, stop use immediately!
• Cover any birthmarks, tattoos, freckles, birthmarks, warts, verrucas
or growths before use.
• Do not use on your scrotum, vagina, labia minora, anus, nipples,
areolas, inside ears or inside your nose.
• Do not use anywhere on the body where you may later wish to
grow hair.
• Never use flammable liquids such as alcohol (including perfume,
deodorant or any other substance containing alcohol) or acetone to
clean the skin before using Homelight® .

2. How Homelight® works
Homelight® from BaByliss is a personal depilator that uses IPL (intense
pulsed light) for easy and sustained removal of unwanted hair that will
not grow back.
2.1. IPL technology
Using IPL technology, Homelight®painlessly removes hair by emitting
pulsed light. The pulsed light targets the pigment present in the
hair (melanin) to get through to the root and prevent the hair from
growing back. Therefore, the more melanin the hair contains (i.e. the
darker the hair colour), the more light the hair can absorb and the
more conclusive the results will be. IPL technology has been used
widely by professionals for more than 15 years and clinical studies
have proven that it is eective and safe.
2.2. Hair growth cycle
The hair growth cycle plays a key part in the process of IPL depilation
using Homelight®. Therefore, it is important to understand how the
full hair growth cycle works in order to achieve lasting results with
Homelight® .
The hair growth cycle consists of three successive phases:
• Anagen (hair growth phase)
• Catagen (hair transition phase)
• Telogen (hair resting phase)

The full hair growth cycle lasts on average between 18 and 24 months.
Most hairs are in one of the two resting phases (catagen and telogen).
Homelight® has no eects on hairs in resting phases. Homelight® is
eective, however, on hairs in the growth phase (anagen). Therefore,
multiple depilation sessions with Homelight® are required to be
eective on all of the hairs and to achieve lasting results.
2.3. Skin Sensor System - automatic detection of intensity
level
Homelight® features 5 levels of intensity, running from the lowest
(level 1) to the highest (level 5). The level of intensity indicates
the intensity of the pulsed light applied to the skin when using
Homelight® .
It is therefore important to regulate the intensity level according to
your skin colour. Darker skin, which therefore contains more melanin,
withstands lower intensity levels than lighter skin.

2.4. Planning depilation sessions with Homelight®
You should plan your depilation sessions with Homelight®
beforehand !
We recommend you follow the following schedule which has
delivered excellent results:
• The rst 4 depilation sessions with Homelight® should be 2 weeks
apart.
• The following depilation sessions with Homelight® should be 4 weeks
apart (until the desired result is achieved).
• If hair grows back subsequently, you will then use Homelight® on an
occasional basis to achieve lasting results, ensuring at least 4 weeks
between the depilation sessions.

N.B.:
- It is quite common for hair to seem to continue growing for one or two
weeks after a depilation session with Homelight® (this is called ejection).
However, after two weeks you will see these hairs fall out or detach
themselves from the follicles. We advise you against pulling hairs to
make them detach. Let hairs fall out naturally.
- It is possible for some hairs to grow back lighter and ner than before,
following a depilation session with Homelight® . This phenomenon
has been extensively documented by beauticians and doctors who use
pulsed light devices for depilation treatments.
2.7. Eye protection device
Thanks to built-in eye protection, Homelight® only releases light
pulses when the application surface is entirely in contact with the skin.

3. Use of Homelight®
3.1. Preparing the skin
Body
Before you use Homelight® on the body, your skin must be shaved (24
hours beforehand), clean, dry and free from any residue of powder or
deodorant. Warning: do not depilate (with an electric depilator, tweezers
or waxing) before using Homelight®. Epilating (removing hair from the
root) would prevent intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment from having any
eect.
Face
Do not shave the dierent areas of the face before use.
Before using Homelight® on the face, remove all traces of cream, lotion or
make-up.
Warning: do not depilate (with an electric depilator, tweezers or waxing)
before using Homelight®. Epilating (removing hair from the root) would
prevent intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment from having any eect.

3.2. Carrying out a test with Homelight®
Carry out a test with Homelight® 48 hours before the
rst use.
1. Plug the adapter cord into the socket on the Homelight® device
(which is located on its handle) (FIG. 1).
2. Plug the other end of the adapter into a power socket.
> The ON/OFF button turns on and is orange in colour
(FIG.2).
3. Switch on the appliance by pressing the ON-OFF button (FIG. 3).
> The ON-OFF button turns green.
> T he power level 1 LED indicator is on. Level 1 is
programmed by default when the appliance is switched
on (FIG. 4).
4. Place the appliance Skin Sensor on the area of skin where you wish
to perform the test (we recommend a leg) (FIG. 5)
> The intensity level LED indicator(s) switch on and ash,
showing that the appliance has successfully detected the
phototype of the area of skin to be depilated and adjusted
the power level automatically (FIG. 6).
5. Press once on the trigger to conrm (FIG. 7)
> The intensity level LED indicator(s) stop ashing (FIG. 8).
6. Position the application surface on the area of skin detected and
keep the application surface still, in position, to ensure total contact.
> The Ready LED ashes when the appliance is correctly
positioned on the skin and ready to release a light pulse
(FIG. 9)
7. Press on the trigger to release a light pulse onto the skin (FIG. 10).
N.B.: You may feel a slight hot sensation and tingling.
8. Move the application surface to another area of skin and press the
trigger to release another light pulse. Take care not to overlay the
light pulses.

If you do not experience any abnormal reactions or discomfort
(FIG. 11) 48 hours after the test, you may start treatment and move
onto the chapter “Treatment with Homelight®”.
If your skin does not react correctly to the test (FIG. 12), if you
experience any abnormal reactions or discomfort after 48 hours,
perform a second test at intensity level 1, whatever your phototype,
without considering the Skin Sensor, and wait 48 hours.

session, you may increase the power level manually to increase
eectiveness.
If you experience any discomfort, reduce to the previous power level.
Note: if a not recommended level has been reached using the manual
control with respect to the skin colour determined by the Skin Sensor,

the power level LED indicator in question will ash 3 times to indicate
a not recommended level. We therefore recommend manually
reducing the power level to an authorised level.
3.4. Operating modes
Homelight® features two operating modes. Precision mode and Glide
mode.
A. Precision mode
Precision mode allows you to safely treat the more
hard-to-reach, sensitive areas of the body (face,
armpits, bikini line, etc.).
To treat the face, t the special facial lamp to the top of
the device and follow the safety precautions described
in the chapter on facial depilation with Homelight® .
Follow these steps:
see steps 1 to 8 of chapter 3.3. “Treatment with Homelight®”
B. Glide mode
In Glide mode, the light pulses from your Homelight®
are released automatically and constantly without any
additional actions being necessary (36 light pulses per
minute, constantly, at level 1).

Follow these steps:
1. To activate Glide mode, repeat steps 1 and 6 of chapter 3.3.
“Treatment with Homelight®”. Then correctly place the application
surface of Homelight® against your skin whilst holding down the
trigger button on the device.
2. Glide Homelight® over your skin without interruptions, in a
slow, continuous movement, without making any up or down
movements.
N.B.:
• If you remove Homelight® from your skin whilst holding down the trigger
button, it will stay in Glide mode. However, for your own safety, the
pulsed light will only be released if Homelight® is in full contact with your
skin. You should ensure that the application surface of Homelight® is in
full contact with your skin in order to allow it to glide.
• If the application surface of Homelight® is not in full contact with your
skin, you will have 5 seconds in which to ensure that Homelight® is in
full contact, whilst holding down the trigger button. If that window of 5
seconds is exceeded and there is still not complete contact with the skin,
Glide mode will be deactivated and then you release the trigger button
and press it again to reactivate Glide mode.
• If you lift up the device and release the trigger, Glide mode will be
deactivated.
Glide mode is suitable for people who already have some experience
and prociency when using Homelight® . With 36 pulses per minute (at
level 1), Glide mode provides safe and fast treatment of larger areas of
the body (legs, back, arms, torso). For sensitive areas and the face, you
should use Precision mode.

3.5. Coverage of the treatment area
For proper coverage of the treatment area, the light pulses need
to be applied to your skin in lines, from one extremity to the other,
systematically continuing in successive lines. This prevents the side
eects caused by overlapping the light pulses.
The imprints left on your skin by the pressure from the application
surface of Homelight® should help you to align yourself correctly to
apply each new pulse, to avoid pulses overlapping or - on the other
hand - to avoid the pulses being spaced too far apart.
3.6. Facial depilation with Homelight®
Depilating the face needs very special attention because the skin on
the face is particularly delicate and sensitive. This is why Homelight®
is equipped with a special facial ash lamp. The special facial lamp
is targeted and extremely precise, limiting the light spectrum for
treatment that is appropriate for sensitive facial skin.
Safety precautions for facial depilation:
• Do not shave the dierent areas of the face before use.
• You must use the special facial ash lamp to depilate the face using
Homelight® .
• Homelight® is only suitable for depilating the lower part of the face

(cheeks, upper lip and chin).
• Homelight® is not suitable for depilating eyelashes, hair and
eyebrows.
• Do not look at the area of skin being treated while the light pulses
are being released.
• Do not use Homelight® around the eyes.
• Homelight® is not suitable for treating men’s beards.
• For your comfort and safety, we recommend that you have someone
help you use Homelight® on your face for the rst few sessions.
• Do not use Glide mode for depilating the face.
• You must wait 5 seconds between each pulse of light when using
the device on the face. Any facial depilation session with Homelight®
must not last any longer than 10 minutes.
Positioning the special facial flash lamp
To t or remove the special facial ash lamp, the device must be
switched o and unplugged.
Gently grasp the special facial ash lamp between the thumb and
index nger to t or remove it.
N.B.: Remove the special facial ash lamp and place the special body ash
lamp on the Homelight® appliance to treat legs, back and arms.
Warning: hot surfaces. Do not touch the application surface of the
special facial ash lamp with your ngers.
4. After using Homelight®
4.1. Switching o Homelight®
At the end of your depilation session, switch o Homelight® by
pressing the ON/OFF button.

Unplug the adapter from the power socket.
N.B.: Homelight® will stop automatically if you do not use the device
for more than 10 minutes. The ON/OFF button is now orange. To use
Homelight® again, you have to press the ON/OFF button and select the
required level of intensity again.
4.2. Cleaning
We recommend that you clean Homelight® , especially the application
surface, after every depilation session:
• Unplug Homelight® before cleaning.
• Gently clean the casing of Homelight® and especially the application
surface, using a clean, dry cloth and a cleaner formulated for cleaning
electronic equipment.
• After cleaning, store Homelight® in its original box in a dry, safe place.
4.3. Caring for the skin following an epilation session with
Homelight®
Do not expose areas of the skin treated with Homelight® to the sun
without protection for 2 weeks following treatment. Protect your skin
with sunscreen (SPF of over 50) or a covering garment throughout the
treatment period and for at least two weeks after the nal depilation
session with Homelight® .
Do not use perfumed creams or deodorant following your depilation
session on areas treated with Homelight® .
4.4. Possible side eects
Side eects and complications are rare when Homelight® is used in
accordance with the instructions in this instructions manual.

It is normal to feel some discomfort after a depilation session with
Homelight® .
However, any cosmetic treatment, even if designed for home use, has
its risks.
If light pulses applied by Homelight® are overlapping or repeated on
the same area of skin, it is possible you may feel or see:
• A slightly unpleasant skin sensation: although Homelight®
is generally very well tolerated, most people using it feel some
discomfort during use, often described as a tingling sensation on
the area of skin treated. In most cases, this tingling sensation is felt
during application and even possibly for a few minutes afterwards.
Any other discomfort apart from this mild pain is not normal and
either means that you need to stop treatment with Homelight®
because you do not tolerate it, or that your selected light pulse
intensity level is too high.
• Redness: your skin may redden just after using Homelight® or during
the following 24 hours. The redness usually disappears within 24
hours. See your doctor if the redness lasts longer than 2 to 3 days.
• Skin hypersensitivity: skin is more sensitive on the treated area of
skin and may dry and scale.
• Burning or blistering: very rarely, skin can be exposed to injury or
burns following treatment with Homelight®. Full recovery can take
several weeks and, in exceptional cases, a scar may remain.
• Scarring: even though these are very rare cases, there may be
permanent scarring. In most instances these scars take the form of a
surface lesion with whitish colouration (hypotrophic). However, scars
may be wide and red (hypertrophic) or wide and extended behind
the injured area (keloid). More extensive cosmetic treatments may be
required to improve their appearance.

• Change to pigmentation: Homelight® targets the root of the hair,
specically the pigmented cells in the bulb. However, there is a
risk of temporary hyperpigmentation (increased pigmentation or
brown discolouration) or hypopigmentation (whitening) or the
surrounding skin. People with darker skin are more at risk of changes
to pigmentation. In most cases, any changes to pigmentation
and discolouration of the skin are temporary. Permanent
hyperpigmentation and permanent hypopigmentation are rare.
• Excessive redness and inflammation/swelling: in some rare cases,
skin treated with Homelight® can become very red and swollen. This
reaction is more common in sensitive areas of the body. Redness and
swelling should disappear within 2 to 7 days of regular application of
ice. Gentle cleaning is no problem, but you should avoid exposure to
sunlight.
• Infection: a skin infection is extremely rare but can occur after a burn
or skin injury caused by Homelight®.
• Bruising: very rarely, using Homelight® can cause bluish-purple
bruising which can last for 5 to 10 days. As the blue fades, the skin
can take on a rusty colour (hyperpigmentation) which may be
permanent.
Speak to your doctor if discomfort persists or bothers you during or
after treatment with Homelight®.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1. Problems encountered
Homelight® does not start
Check whether the adapter is properly connected to your Homelight®
and plugged into a power socket.

No pulses are released when you press the trigger button
• Make sure that the application surface of Homelight® is fully in
contact with the skin and the READY LED indicator is ashing.
• Make sure that the READY LED indicator is on.
> If the READY LED indicator is still o after 10 seconds,
switch Homelight® o and on again by pressing the ON/
OFF button twice.
> If the problem persists, contact BaByliss Customer Services
for your region.
• Make sure that the ON/OFF button is on.
> If the ON/OFF button is on, switch the appliance o and on
again using the ON/OFF button
> If the problem persists, contact BaByliss Customer Services
for your region.
• The ON/OFF button is glowing red and ashing
> Switch the appliance o. Homelight® goes into safety
mode because it has detected overheating or a critical
problem (broken fan, problem with the capacitor, etc.). Let
Homelight® cool down for 15 minutes before turning it on
again.
> If the problem persists, contact BaByliss Customer Services

> The adapter used to connect your Homelight® device to

1. Veiligheidsinstructies
OPGELET
• Lees de voorzorgsmaatregelen en veiligheidsinstructies
aandachtig om ongewenste huidbijwerkingen of ernstige
oogschade te voorkomen.
• Behandel dezelfde huid niet meer dan één keer per sessie!
• Gebruik het apparaat niet op en rond de ogen. Het dient niet om
de wimpers en de wenkbrauwen te ontharen.
• Het gebruiksoppervlak moet de huid volledig raken voordat
u een lichtpuls uitzendt. Richt het gebruiksoppervlak van het
apparaat nooit zo dat u een lichtpuls in open ruimte afgeeft.
• Het gebruiksoppervlak wordt warm na langdurig gebruik.
• Raadpleeg uw arts of dermatoloog:
- als u lichtgevoeligmakende geneesmiddelen hebt genomen of
onlangs lichtgevoeligmakende crèmes of essentiële oliën hebt
gebruikt.
- als u ook maar enige twijfel hebt over uw persoonlijke risico’s
met betrekking tot het gebruik van het apparaat.
VEILIGHEID
• Dit apparaat is niet geschikt om te worden gebruikt door
kinderen en personen van wie de fysieke, zintuiglijke of
mentale capaciteiten beperkt zijn. Dit geldt ook voor mensen
zonder ervaring of kennis, behalve wanneer iemand die

verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid toezicht houdt, of
vooraf instructies geeft met betrekking tot het gebruik van het
apparaat. Het is raadzaam om toezicht te houden op kinderen,
om te voorkomen dat ze met het apparaat gaan spelen.
• LET OP: de zakken van polyethyleen die om het product
of de verpakking heen zitten, kunnen gevaarlijk zijn.
Houd de zakken buiten bereik van baby’s en kinderen.
• Gebruik ze niet in wiegjes, kinderbedjes, kinderwagens of boxen.
De dunne folie kan aan de neus of mond blijven plakken en de
ademhaling belemmeren. Een zak is geen speelgoed.
• LET OP: niet gebruiken boven of in de buurt van een
wastafel, bad, douche of andere met water gevulde
reservoirs. Houd het apparaat droog.
• Gebruik uitsluitend de meegeleverde adapter.
• Als de adapter of het snoer beschadigd is of als het apparaat stuk
of beschadigd is en moet worden gerepareerd, dient u contact
op te nemen met de klantenservice om gevaar te voorkomen.
Probeer het apparaat niet zelf te openen en te repareren.
Hierdoor zou u zich blootstellen aan gevaarlijke elektrische
onderdelen en aan de energie van het gepulseerde licht, wat
ernstige lichamelijke verwondingen en/of onomkeerbare
oogschade kan veroorzaken.
• Houd de adapter uit de buurt van warmtebronnen.
• Gebruik het apparaat niet meer nadat het is gevallen of als u
zichtbare schade aan het apparaat opmerkt.

• Trek de stekker meteen uit het stopcontact als er zich tijdens het
gebruik problemen voordoen.
• Gebruik uitsluitend de accessoires die BaByliss aanbeveelt.
• Laat het apparaat niet onbewaakt achter wanneer het aanstaat.
• Trek na gebruik de stekker van het apparaat uit het stopcontact
alvorens het te reinigen.
• Wikkel het snoer niet rondom het apparaat en zorg dat u het
apparaat opbergt zonder het snoer te draaien of te vouwen zodat
het snoer niet beschadigd raakt.
• Stop het gebruik onmiddellijk
- als u een onregelmatigheid constateert
- als het apparaat defect is of een abnormaal geluid of abnormale
geur genereert
- als de flitslamp een barst of vlekken vertoont
- als het gebruiksoppervlak gebroken is
- als de ON/OFF-knop rood wordt.
CONTRA-INDICATIES
Gebruik het apparaat niet in geval van ...
• Abnormale toestand van de huid in het te behandelen
gebied: Bruine of zwarte vlekken, sproeten, moedervlekken,
gepigmenteerde wratten of naevi.
• Eczeem, psoriasis, verwondingen, open wonden of een
evolutieve infectie
• Witte, grijze of lichtblonde haren op het te behandelen gebied

• Zwangerschap of borstvoeding.
• Donkere huid. Het gebruik van het apparaat op een donkere huid
kan bijwerkingen veroorzaken, zoals brandwonden, blaren en
veranderingen van de huidskleur (hyper- of hypopigmentatie).
• Hoge blootstelling aan zonlicht of een uv-machine gedurende de
laatste 28 dagen.
• Tatoeage of permanente make-up op het te behandelen gebied.
• Voorgeschiedenis van keloïdvorming, een bekende
overgevoeligheid voor licht (of fotosensibiliteit zoals porfyrie,
polymorfe huiduitslag door licht, netelroos veroorzaakt door
zon, lupus, etc.) of veroorzaakt door geneesmiddelen, inclusief
non-steroïde ontstekingsremmers (bijv. aspirine, ibuprofen,
paracetamol), tetracycline, fenothiazine, thiazide, diuretica,
sulfonylureum, sulfamide, DTIC, fluorouracil, vinblastine,
griseofulvine, Alpha-Hydroxyzuren (AHAs), Beta-Hydroxyzuren
(ABHs), Retin-A®, Accutane® (isotretinoïne, in geval van
behandeling in de loop van de voorbije 6 maanden) of topische
retinoïden (of azelaïnezuur).
• Abnormale huidaandoening veroorzaakt door diabetes,
bijvoorbeeld, of andere systemische of metabolische ziekten.
• Voorgeschiedenis van een plotse uitbraak van herpes op het te
behandelen gebied. Zorg dat u een arts raadpleegt en hiervoor
preventief wordt behandeld.
• Epilepsie.
• Actief implantaat zoals een pacemaker, een implantaat voor

urine-incontinentie, een insulinepomp, enz.
• Recente inenting.
• Voorgeschiedenis van huidkanker of gebieden met
huidaandoeningen.
• Radiotherapie, chemotherapie of een regime op basis van
steroïden tijdens de laatste 3 maanden.
• Elke andere huidbehandeling op basis van licht (laser …).
• Elk ander geval dat uw arts als riskant voor de behandeling
beschouwt.
VOORZORGSMAATREGELEN
• Gebruik dit apparaat niet voor andere doeleinden dan voor het
ontharen.
• Gebruik het apparaat niet bij kinderen.
• Voor gebruik:
- De huid moet schoon zijn (zonder sporen van lotion, make-up,
deodorant, zelfbruinende crème ...)
- Scheer het te behandelen gebied (behalve op het gezicht).
• Doe een test 48 uur voor het eerste gebruik (zie hoofdstuk 3.2
‘Een test doen met de Homelight®’ ).
• Houd het gebruiksoppervlak van het apparaat schoon (zie
hoofdstuk 4.2. ‘Reiniging’).
• Om bijwerkingen te voorkomen:
- Kies de lichtintensiteit die aanbevolen wordt voor uw
huidskleur (zie hoofdstuk 2.3. ‘Skin Sensor System’).

- Respecteer de gebruiksfrequentie van het apparaat en volg het
aanbevolen tijdsschema (zie hoofdstuk 2.4. ‘Sessieplanning’).
• Raadpleeg uw arts of uw dermatoloog als u een blijvend
ongemak ervaart na gebruik of als u bijwerkingen op uw huid
waarneemt.
• Gebruik het apparaat niet op een gebruinde huid of na een
recente blootstelling aan de zon!
• Geen blootstelling aan zonlicht zonder bescherming of aan de
uv-stralen van een zonnebank:
- gedurende de 4 weken die aan een behandeling met de
Homelight® voorafgaan
- gedurende de 2 weken na een behandeling met de
Homelight®.
Onder “zich onbeschermd aan de zon blootstellen” wordt
verstaan: zich zonder bescherming aan direct zonlicht blootstellen
gedurende een ononderbroken periode van vijftien minuten
of zich zonder bescherming aan indirect zonlicht blootstellen
gedurende een uur.
• Bij blootstelling aan zonlicht moet u de juiste bescherming
dragen, zoals een bedekkend kledingstuk of zonnebrandcrème
(waarvan de beschermingsfactor hoger dan 50 is) die 3 weken
voor en na de behandeling regelmatig moet worden gebruikt.
• Stop de behandeling meteen wanneer de huid brandwonden of
blaren vertoont!
• Dek wijnvlekken, tatoeages, bruine of zwarte vlekken, sproeten,

geboortevlekken, pigmentvlekken en aanhangsels af voordat u
het apparaat gaat gebruiken.
• Gebruik de Homelight® niet op het scrotum, de vagina, de
schaamlippen, de anus, de tepels, in de oren en neus.
• Gebruik het apparaat niet op lichaamsdelen waar u later
mogelijk weer beharing zou willen.
• Gebruik nooit ontvlambare vloeistoffen zoals alcohol (inclusief
parfum, deodorant of eender welke andere samenstelling
met alcohol) of aceton om de huid te reinigen voordat u de
Homelight® gebruikt.

2. Werking van de Homelight®
De Homelight® van BaByliss is een persoonlijk epileerapparaat
dat doeltreend en langdurig ongewenst haar verwijdert en de
teruggroei van het haar voorkomt dankzij de IPL-technologie (Intense
Pulsed Light).
2.1. IPL-technologie
Met behulp van de IPL-technologie verwijdert de Homelight® het haar
pijnloos, dankzij het uitzenden van een lichtpuls. De lichtpuls richt
zich op het pigment in het haar (melanine) om de wortel te bereiken
en teruggroei van het haar te voorkomen. Hoe meer melanine het
haar dus heeft (dit wil zeggen, hoe donkerder het haar is), hoe meer
licht het haar kan absorberen en hoe beter de resultaten zijn. De
IPL-technologie wordt al meer dan 15 jaar overal door professionals
gebruikt en is het onderwerp geweest van klinische studies die haar
werkzaamheid en veiligheid bewezen hebben.
2.2. Haargroeicyclus
De haargroeicyclus speelt een belangrijke rol bij de IPL-
ontharingsprocedure met de Homelight®. Het is dus belangrijk de
werking van de volledige haargroeicyclus te begrijpen om langdurige
resultaten met de Homelight® te behalen.
De haargroeicyclus bestaat uit drie opeenvolgende fasen:

• Catageen (overgangsfase van het haar)

De duur van de volledige haargroeicyclus bedraagt gemiddeld tussen
18 en 24 maanden. De meerderheid van de haren bevindt zich in een
van de twee rustfasen (catageen en telogeen).
De Homelight® heeft geen enkel eect op de haren in de rustfase.
De Homelight® werkt daarentegen wel op de haren in de groeifase
(anageen). Er zijn dus meerdere ontharingssessies met de Homelight®
nodig om het haar volledig te behandelen en langdurige resultaten te
behalen.
2.3. Skin Sensor System - automatische detectie van het
sterkteniveau
De Homelight® biedt de keuze uit 5 sterkteniveaus, gaande van
het laagste (niveau 1) tot het hoogste sterkteniveau (niveau 5). Het
sterkteniveau geeft de sterkte weer van de lichtpuls die bij gebruik
van de Homelight® de huid raakt.
Het is dus belangrijk dat u het sterkteniveau aanpast aan uw

huidskleur. Een donkerdere huidskleur, dus met meer melanine,
verdraagt minder hoge sterkteniveaus dan lichtere huidskleuren.
Om u in alle veiligheid een eciënte behandeling te bieden,
is de Homelight® uitgerust met het Skin Sensor System, een
detectiesysteem van de huidskleur met automatische regeling van de
lichtintensiteit die op de huid wordt toegepast.

2.4. Planning van de ontharingssessies met de Homelight®
Plan uw ontharingssessies met de Homelight® op voorhand!
Aanbevolen wordt om onderstaande kalender te volgen omdat deze
uitstekende resultaten geeft:
• De 4 eerste ontharingssessies met de Homelight® moeten om de 2
weken gebeuren.
• De volgende ontharingssessies met de Homelight® moeten om de 4
weken gebeuren (totdat het gewenste resultaat bereikt is).
• Als het haar vervolgens opnieuw begint te groeien, gebruikt u de
Homelight® af en toe, totdat u langdurig resultaat bereikt en de
ontharingssessies minstens om de 4 weken doet.

• Hetzelfde gebied meer dan eens in de twee weken behandelen geeft
geen betere resultaten en kan ongewenste eecten hebben.

2.6. Verwachte resultaten van de ontharing met de

De doeltreendheid van de Homelight® kan verschillen:
• naargelang van de persoon,
• naargelang van het behandelde gebied,
• naargelang van de kleur van de haren.
Opgelet: De Homelight® is niet doeltreend tegen wit, grijs of
lichtblond haar. Wit, grijs of lichtblond haar bevat weinig melanine en
reageert niet voldoende op de behandeling met gepulseerd licht van

de Homelight® .
NB:
- Het is heel gebruikelijk dat de haren lijken te blijven groeien gedurende
een tot twee weken na een ontharingssessie met de Homelight®
(ejectiefenomeen). Na twee weken zult u echter vaststellen dat deze
haren uitvallen of zich van hun follikel losmaken. Wij raden u aan niet
aan deze haren te trekken zodat ze zich losmaken. Laat de haren op een
natuurlijke manier uitvallen.
- Het is mogelijk dat sommige haren lichter en jner teruggroeien na een
ontharing met de Homelight®. Dit fenomeen is goed gedocumenteerd
door schoonheidsspecialisten en artsen die apparaten met gepulseerd
licht voor ontharingsbehandelingen gebruiken.
2.7. Beschermingsfunctie voor de ogen
Dankzij een geïntegreerde functie om de ogen te beschermen,
zendt de Homelight® uitsluitend lichtpulsen uit wanneer het
gebruiksoppervlak de huid volledig raakt.

3. Gebruik van de Homelight®
3.1. Voorbereiding van de huid
Lichaam
Voor u de Homelight® op uw lichaam gebruikt, moet uw huid geschoren
(24 uur op voorhand), schoon en droog zijn. Er mogen geen sporen van
poeder of deodorant op zitten. Opgelet: onthaar u niet (met een elektrisch
epileerapparaat, een pincet of wax) voordat u de Homelight® gebruikt.
Door ontharing (het haar bij de wortel verwijderen) zou de behandeling
met lichtpulsen (IPL) niet werken zoals het hoort.
Gezicht
Scheer de verschillende delen van het gezicht niet voor u het
apparaat gebruikt.
Verwijder resten van crème, lotion of make-up voordat u de Homelight®
op het gezicht gebruikt.
Opgelet: onthaar u niet (met een elektrisch epileerapparaat, een pincet of
wax) voordat u de Homelight® gebruikt. Door ontharing (het haar bij de
wortel verwijderen) zou de behandeling met lichtpulsen (IPL) niet werken
zoals het hoort.

3.2. Een test doen met de Homelight®
Voer 48 uur voor het eerste gebruik een test uit met
de Homelight®.
1. Steek de stekker van het snoer van de adapter in het contact van de
Homelight® (op het handvat van het apparaat). (afb. 1).
2. Steek het andere uiteinde van de adapter in een stopcontact.
> De ON/OFF-knop licht oranje op (afb. 2).
3. Schakel het apparaat in door op de ON/OFF-knop te drukken
(afb.3).
> De ON/OFF-knop wordt groen.
> Het verklikkerlicht van sterkteniveau 1 licht op. Het
apparaat is standaard ingesteld op het laagste niveau
(niveau 1) (afb. 4).
4. Plaats de Skin Sensor van het apparaat op het gebied van de huid
waar u de test wilt uitvoeren (we raden aan om dit op een been te
doen) (afb. 5)
> Het of de verklikkerlicht(en) van het sterkteniveau licht(en)
op en knippert (knipperen) om aan te geven dat het
apparaat met succes het huidtype van het te ontharen
gebied heeft gevonden en het sterkteniveau automatisch
heeft aangepast (afb. 6).
5. Druk eenmaal op de ontspanner om te bevestigen (afb. 7)
> Het of de verklikkerlicht(en) van het sterkteniveau stopt
(stoppen) met knipperen (afb. 8).
6. Plaats het gebruiksoppervlak op het gedetecteerde gebied en druk
het stevig op de huid zodat het volledig contact maakt.
> Zodra het gebruiksoppervlak volledig in contact met de
huid is en klaar is om een lichtpuls uit te zenden, begint
het lampje ‘Ready’ te knipperen (afb. 9)
7. Druk op de ontspanner om een lichtpuls op de huid uit te zenden
(afb. 10).
NB: Het is mogelijk dat u lichte warmte en tintelingen voelt.

8. Plaats het gebruiksoppervlak op een ander gebied en druk op de
ontspanner om een andere lichtpuls uit te zenden. Voorkom dat u
meerdere lichtpulsen op een gebied uitzendt.
Als u geen abnormale reacties of ongemakken waarneemt
(afb. 11), na 48 uur na de test, kunt u de behandeling starten en naar
het hoofdstuk ‘Behandeling met de Homelight®’ gaan.
Als uw huid niet goed reageert op de test (afb. 12), als u abnormale
reacties of ongemakken waarneemt na 48 uur, moet u een nieuwe
test op niveau 1 uitvoeren, ongeacht uw huidtype, zonder rekening te
houden met de Skin Sensor en nog eens 48 uur wachten.

- Als u goed reageert op deze tweede test, kunt u beginnen met de
eerste ontharingssessie door handmatig niveau 1 te selecteren.
- Als uw huid niet goed reageert op deze tweede test, raden we aan
om het apparaat niet te gebruiken.
Voor de volgende sessies, wanneer er geen ongemakken of
bijwerkingen zijn, kunt u het sterkteniveau geleidelijk aan en
naargelang de sessies verhogen. Houd hierbij evenwel rekening met
onderstaand schema of doe een beroep om het sterktegeheugen.

3.3. Behandeling met de Homelight®
We raden aan om de Skin Sensor voor elke ontharingssessie en bij
elk nieuw te behandelen gebied te gebruiken.
1. Steek de stekker van het snoer van de adapter in het contact van de
Homelight® (op het handvat van het apparaat). (afb. 1).
2. Steek het andere uiteinde van de adapter in een stopcontact.
> De ON/OFF-knop licht oranje op (afb. 2).
3. Schakel het apparaat in door op de On/OFF-knop te drukken
(afb.3).
> De ON/OFF-knop wordt groen.
> Het verklikkerlicht van sterkteniveau 1 licht op. Het
apparaat is standaard ingesteld op het laagste niveau
(niveau 1) (afb. 4).
4. Plaats de Skin Sensor van het apparaat op het gebied van de huid
dat u wilt behandelen (afb. 16)
> Het of de verklikkerlicht(en) van het sterkteniveau licht(en)
op en knippert (knipperen) om aan te geven dat het
apparaat met succes het huidtype van het te ontharen
gebied heeft gevonden en het sterkteniveau automatisch
heeft aangepast (afb. 17)
5. Druk eenmaal op de ontspanner om te bevestigen (afb. 18)
> Het of de verklikkerlicht(en) van het sterkteniveau stopt
(stoppen) met knipperen (afb. 19).
6. Plaats het gebruiksoppervlak op het gedetecteerde gebied en druk
het stevig op de huid zodat het volledig contact maakt.
> Zodra het gebruiksoppervlak volledig in contact met de
huid is en klaar is om een lichtpuls uit te zenden, begint
het lampje ‘Ready’ te knipperen (afb. 20)
7. Druk op de ontspanner om een lichtpuls op de huid uit te zenden
(afb. 21)
NB: Het is mogelijk dat u lichte warmte en tintelingen voelt.
8. Plaats het gebruiksoppervlak op een ander gebied en druk op de
ontspanner om een andere lichtpuls uit te zenden. Voorkom dat u

meerdere lichtpulsen op een gebied uitzendt.
Uitsluitend wanneer er geen bijwerkingen zijn na een voorgaande
sessie mag u het sterkteniveau handmatig verhogen om de
behandeling doeltreender te maken.
Als u ook maar een ongemak waarneemt, moet u het sterkteniveau
verlagen.
NB: Als een niet-aanbevolen niveau wordt bereikt met de handmatige
bediening op basis van de huidskleur die door de Skin Sensor werd
bepaald, zal het verklikkerlicht van het sterkteniveau in kwestie 3 keer
knipperen om het niet-aanbevolen niveau te signaleren. Het is dus
aanbevolen om het sterkteniveau te verlagen om een toegestaan
niveau te bereiken.
3.4. Gebruiksmodi
De Homelight® biedt u twee gebruiksmodi. De precisiemodus en de
gliss-modus.
A. Precisiemodus
In de precisiemodus kunt u veilig de meest
ontoegankelijke en gevoelige delen van uw lichaam
(gezicht, oksels, bikinilijn…) behandelen.
Zet voor behandeling van het gezicht de speciale
itslamp voor het gezicht op de kop van het apparaat
en volg de voorzorgsmaatregelen voor gebruik die
in het hoofdstuk over gezichtsontharing met de
Homelight® beschreven worden.

B. Gliss-modus
In de gliss-modus zendt uw Homelight® automatisch
een continue opeenvolging van lichtpulsen uit, zonder
dat daar verdere handelingen voor nodig zijn (continu
36 lichtpulsen per minuut, op niveau 1).
Te volgen stappen:
1. Volg om de gliss-modus te activeren stap 1 en 6 van hoofdstuk 3.3.
‘Behandeling met de Homelight®’. Zet het gebruiksoppervlak van
de Homelight daarna op de juiste manier op uw huid en blijf de
schakelaar van het apparaat inhouden.
2. Laat de Homelight® op een langzame en voortdurende
manier ononderbroken over uw huid glijden zonder op-en-
neerbewegingen te maken.
NB:
• Als u de Homelight® van uw huid verwijdert en de schakelaar blijft
indrukken, dan blijft de gliss-modus actief. Voor uw veiligheid worden
er echter uitsluitend lichtpulsen uitgezonden als de Homelight® uw huid
volledig raakt. Zorg ervoor dat het gebruiksoppervlak van de Homelight®
de huid volledig raakt om er zeker van te zijn dat de gliss-modus actief is.
• Als het gebruiksoppervlak van de Homelight de huid niet volledig raakt,
hebt u 5 seconden om de Homelight®
zo te plaatsen dat deze de huid wel
volledig raakt. Hierbij moet u er wel op letten dat u de schakelaar blijft
indrukken. Als het apparaat de huid na die 5 seconden nog niet volledig
raakt, wordt de gliss-modus gedeactiveerd en moet u de schakelaar
loslaten en opnieuw indrukken om de gliss-modus opnieuw te activeren.
• Als u het apparaat verwijdert en de schakelaar loslaat, wordt de gliss-
modus gedeactiveerd.
De gliss-modus is bedoeld voor mensen die al wat ervaring en
vaardigheid in het gebruik van de Homelight® hebben. Met zijn 36
pulsen per minuut (op niveau 1) zorgt de gliss-modus voor een veilige

en snelle behandeling van grotere gebieden van het lichaam (benen,
rug, armen, borst). Gebruik voor de gevoelige gebieden en het gezicht
de precisiemodus.
3.5. Dekking van het behandelingsgebied
Voor een goede dekking van het te behandelen gebied moeten de
lichtpulsen uw huid raken, in rijen van het ene uiteinde naar het
andere en op een systematische manier in opeenvolgende rijen. U
voorkomt op die manier de bijwerkingen die door overlapping van de
lichtpulsen veroorzaakt kunnen worden.
De sporen die de druk van het gebruiksoppervlak van de Homelight®
op uw huid veroorzaakt, zouden u moeten helpen om de juiste lijnen
te vinden om een nieuwe puls uit te zenden en te vermijden om
pulsen te laten overlappen of ze juist te ver uit elkaar toe te dienen.
3.6. Gezichtsontharing met de Homelight®
Het gezicht ontharen vergt speciale aandacht; de gezichtshuid is
bijzonder dun en gevoelig. Daarom is de Homelight® uitgerust met
een speciale itslamp voor het gezicht. De speciale itslamp voor
het gezicht is gericht en nauwkeurig, en beperkt het lichtspectrum
voor een behandeling die aan de gevoeligheid van de gezichtshuid
aangepast is.

Voorzorgsmaatregelen bij gebruik voor gezichtsontharing:
• Scheer de verschillende delen van het gezicht niet voor u het
apparaat gebruikt.
• U moet absoluut de speciale itslamp voor het gezicht gebruiken als
u uw gezicht wilt epileren met de Homelight® .
• De Homelight® is alleen bedoeld voor het onderste deel van het
gezicht (wangen, bovenlip en kin).
• De Homelight® is niet bedoeld om de wimpers, het haar en de
wenkbrauwen te ontharen.
• Kijk niet naar het behandelde gebied tijdens de lichtpulsen.
• Gebruik de Homelight® niet rond de ogen.
• De Homelight® is niet bedoeld om de baard van een man te
behandelen.
• Voor uw comfort en veiligheid raden we u aan om hulp te vragen aan
een andere persoon de eerste paar keren dat u de Homelight® op het
gezicht gebruikt.
• Gebruik de gliss-modus niet voor gezichtsontharing.
• Bij gebruik op het gezicht moet u tussen elke lichtpuls 5 seconden
wachten. De ontharingssessie met de Homelight® op het gezicht
mag niet langer dan 10 minuten duren.
Plaatsing van de speciale flitslamp voor het gezicht
Om de speciale itslamp voor het gezicht te plaatsen en verwijderen,
moet het apparaat uitstaan en mag de stekker ervan niet in het
stopcontact zitten.
Neem de speciale itslamp voor het gezicht voorzichtig tussen de
duim en de wijsvinger bij het plaatsen en verwijderen.

NB: Verwijder de speciale itslamp voor het gezicht en plaats de itslamp
voor het lichaam op de Homelightt® wanneer u uw benen, rug en armen
wilt ontharen.
Let op met warme oppervlakken. Raak het gebruiksoppervlak van de
speciale itslamp voor het gezicht niet aan met uw vingers.
4. Na het gebruik van de Homelight®
4.1. De Homelight® uitschakelen
Zet de Homelight® aan het eind van uw ontharingssessie uit met
behulp van de ON/OFF-knop.
Haal de stekker van het andere uiteinde van de adapter uit het
stopcontact.
NB: De Homelight® gaat automatisch uit als u de Homelight®
gedurende
meer dan 10 minuten niet gebruikt. De ON/OFF-knop heeft dan een
oranje kleur. Om de Homelight® opnieuw te gebruiken, moet u op de ON/
OFF-knop drukken en opnieuw het nodige sterkteniveau kiezen.
4.2. Reiniging
Wij raden u aan de Homelight® en meer bepaald het
gebruiksoppervlak, na elke ontharingssessie te reinigen:
• Haal de stekker van de Homelight® uit het stopcontact alvorens deze
te reinigen.
• Reinig voorzichtig de romp en vooral het gebruiksoppervlak van
de Homelight® met behulp van een droge en schone doek en een
schoonmaakproduct voor elektronische toestellen.
• Doe de Homelight® na reiniging terug in zijn oorspronkelijke doos en
bewaar deze op een droge en veilige plaats.

4.3. Verzorging van de huid na de sessie met de Homelight®
Stel de gebieden die met de Homelight® behandeld zijn, gedurende
de 2 weken na de behandeling niet onbeschermd aan de zon bloot.
Bescherm uw huid met zonnecrème (SPF hoger dan 50) of een
bedekkend kledingstuk, zowel tijdens de behandeling als tot ten
minste twee weken na de laatste ontharingssessie met Homelight®.
Gebruik na uw ontharingssessie met de Homelight® geen
geparfumeerde crème of deodorant op de behandelde gebieden.
4.4. Mogelijke bijwerkingen
Bijwerkingen en complicaties zijn uitzonderlijk als de Homelight®
gebruikt wordt volgens de richtlijnen die in deze gebruiksaanwijzing
beschreven worden.
Het is normaal om na een ontharingssessie met de Homelight® wat
ongemak te ervaren.
Toch houdt elke cosmetische behandeling, zelfs als deze voor
thuisgebruik bedoeld is, een zeker risico in.
Bij overlapping of herhaaldelijke toediening van de lichtpulsen van
de Homelight® op dezelfde huid, is het mogelijk om het volgende te
voelen of vast te stellen:
• Een licht onprettig gevoel van de huid: hoewel de Homelight®
gewoonlijk goed wordt verdragen, ervaren de meeste mensen die
hem gebruiken een licht onprettig gevoel tijdens het gebruik, dat
vaak omschreven wordt als een prikkend gevoel op de behandelde
huidzone. Over het algemeen voelt men deze tinteling alleen tijdens
de behandeling of tot een paar minuten erna. Elk verder ongemak
is abnormaal en betekent dat u ofwel de behandeling met de
Homelight® moet stoppen omdat u deze niet verdraagt, ofwel dat
het gekozen sterkteniveau van de lichtpuls te hoog is.

• Roodheid: uw huid kan rood worden net na het gebruik van
de Homelight® of in de 24 uur na de behandeling. De roodheid
verdwijnt over het algemeen binnen 24 uur. Raadpleeg uw arts als de
roodheid langer dan 2 of 3 dagen blijft duren.
• Overgevoeligheid van de huid: de huid is gevoeliger op de
behandelde zone en kan uitdrogen en gaan schilferen.
• Brandwonden of wondjes: in zeer uitzonderlijke gevallen kunnen er
wondjes of brandwonden ontstaan als gevolg van een behandeling
met de Homelight®. Het kan weken duren voordat die volledig
genezen zijn en in uitzonderlijke gevallen kunt u er een litteken aan
overhouden.
• Een litteken: ook al is dit zeer uitzonderlijk, toch kunnen er blijvende
littekens optreden. Over het algemeen hebben de littekens de vorm
van een oppervlakkige wond met een witachtige kleur (hypotroe).
Het litteken kan echter ook breed en rood zijn (hypertroe) of tot
buiten het gewonde gebied gaan (keloïd). Meer geavanceerde
esthetische behandelingen kunnen nodig zijn om het uiterlijk ervan
te verbeteren.
• Een verandering in de pigmentatie: De Homelight® richt zich op
de haarwortel, en meer bepaald op de gepigmenteerde cellen
die zich daarin bevinden. Toch bestaat er een risico op tijdelijke
hyperpigmentatie (verhoogde pigmentatie of bruine verkleuring) of
hypopigmentatie (verbleking) van de omringende huid. Het risico op
verandering in de pigmentatie is groter bij mensen met een donkere
huid. Over het algemeen zijn de verandering van de pigmentatie en
de verkleuring van de huid tijdelijk. Gevallen van hyperpigmentatie
of permanente hypopigmentatie zijn zeldzaam.
• Overmatige roodheid en zwelling/opgezwollen huid: in
uitzonderlijke gevallen kan de behandelde huid zeer rood en
opgezwollen worden. Deze reactie komt vaker voor op gevoelige
lichaamsdelen. De roodheid en de zwelling zouden moeten

verdwijnen na 2 tot 7 dagen waarin u er regelmatig ijs op legt. Een
zachte reiniging is geen probleem, maar u moet blootstelling aan de
zon vermijden.
• Infectie: een huidinfectie komt uitzonderlijk weinig voor, maar
kan ontstaan na verbranding of een verwonding van de huid,
veroorzaakt door de Homelight®.
• Bloeduitstorting (ecchymose) in zeer zeldzame gevallen kan het
gebruik van de Homelight® een paarsblauwe bloeduitstorting
veroorzaken die 5 tot 10 dagen kan duren. Naarmate de blauwe kleur
verdwijnt, kan de huid een roestkleur (hyperpigmentatie) krijgen die
permanent kan zijn.
Raadpleeg uw arts bij blijvend ongemak tijdens of na de behandeling
met de Homelight.
5. Probleemoplossing
5.1. Mogelijke problemen
De Homelight® start niet
Controleer of de adapter wel met uw Homelight®
verbonden is en de stekker in het stopcontact zit.
Er is geen puls als u op de schakelaar drukt
• Zorg ervoor dat het gebruiksoppervlak van de Homelight® de huid
volledig raakt en het READY-verklikkerlicht knippert.
• Controleer dat het READY-verklikkerlicht oplicht.
> Als het READY-verklikkerlicht na 10 seconden niet oplicht,
zet de Homelight® dan uit en weer aan door twee keer op
de ON/OFF-knop te drukken.
> Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neem dan contact

op met de BaByliss-klantenservice in uw regio.
• Controleer dat de ON/OFF-knop oplicht.
> Als de ON/OFF-knop brandt, schakel het apparaat uit en
weer in met de ON/OFF-knop
> Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neem dan contact
op met de BaByliss-klantenservice in uw regio.
• De ON/OFF-knop heeft een rode kleur en knippert.
> Schakel het apparaat uit. De Homelight® gaat in
veiligheidsmodus omdat deze oververhitting of een
kritiek probleem gedetecteerd heeft (defecte ventilator,
probleem met de condensator…). Laat de Homelight®
15minuten afkoelen voordat u deze opnieuw aanzet.
> Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neem dan contact
op met de BaByliss-klantenservice in uw regio.
• De ON/OFF-knop knippert afwisselend groen en rood.
> De adapter die u hebt gebruikt om uw Homelight® met
het stopcontact te verbinden, is niet de adapter die bij uw
apparaat geleverd is, of de adapter is defect.
> Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neem dan contact
op met de BaByliss-klantenservice in uw regio.
• De ON/OFF-knop heeft een rode kleur.
> Het apparaat is aan het einde van zijn levensduur.
