L’Apparecchio è garantito un anno dalla data di acquisto. La nostra

garanzia copre tutti gli eventuali difetti di fabbricazione, escluse tutte

le parti soggette a normale usura. La garanzia non copre i danni causati da urti,

incendi, cortocircuiti e quelli derivanti da un uso improprio. La garanzia prevede

la sostituzione di tutti i pezzi non funzionanti escluso le parti elettriche.

Il giudizio sulla natura del guasto è demandato insindacabilmente ai tecnici dei

servizi assistenza autorizzati dalla POLTI.

La cartolina di garanzia deve essere spedita debitamente compilata e timbrata,

entro e non oltre 10 gg. dall’acquisto.

Il certificato di garanzia, timbrato e compilato in ogni sua parte, va consegnato,

in caso di riparazione dell’apparecchio, al Centro Assistenza. La garanzia è

valida se corredata dallo scontrino fiscale oppure dal timbro del rivenditore con

la data di acquisto. L’elenco ufficiale dei Centri Assistenza è riportato nel

presente manuale istruzioni.

La POLTI declina ogni responsabilità se nella riparazione non vengono utilizzati ri-

cambi originali POLTI. Per ogni controversia è competente il Foro di Como.

POLTI garantiza al titular de la garantía, durante el plazo de un año, a

contar desde la fecha de compra, la reparación totalmente gratuita de

las posibles anomalías de los componentes de la máquina, incluyendo la

sustitución del componente defectuoso y la mano de obra necesaria. Las

reparaciones se realizan, en todos los casos, en los talleres de los Servicios

Oficiales. Quedan excluidas las partes sujetas a desgaste usual. La garantía no

cubre los daños causados por mal o indebido uso, golpes, incendio,

cortocircuito, sobre-tensión o aquellos producidos por la cal. (Ver el

mantenimiento del producto en el libro de instrucciones).

El juicio sobre la reparación a efectuar es exclusivo de los Servicios Oficiales

autorizados por POLTI. Una parte de la tarjeta de garantía, la marcada con

“ENVIAR”, deberá remitirse a POLTI, debidamente cumplimentada y timbrada por

el vendedor, dentro de los primeros 10 días de la adquisición de la máquina.

(Solicite que le cumplimenten la garantia al realizar la compra).

En caso de reparación el aparato debe entregarse al Servicio Oficial más

próximo acompañado del certificado de garantía, correspondiente a la máquina,

debidamente cumplimentado para tener validez. En los supuestos en que la

reparación efectuada durante la garantía, no fuera satisfactoria y el aparato por

defecto proprio, no revistiese las condiciones óptimas al uso a que estuviese

destinado, el titular de la garantía tendrá derecho a la sustitución del objeto

edquirido por otro de idénticas características o a la devolución del precio

pagado. La compañía POLTI declina cualquier responsabilidad si en las

reparaciones no se utilizan recambios originales POLTI.

Les produits POLTI bénéficient d’une garantie totale pièces et main-

d’œuvre d’une durée de 1 an. La garantie légale couvrant les défauts

ou vices cachés (article 1641 et suivants du Code civil) est applicable en tout

état de cause.

La garantie est effective dans la mesure où ce produit est retourné franco, non

démonté dans un de nos Centres Agrées POLTI FRANCE.

L’envoi doit être accompagné d’un avis d’expédition indiquant les anomalies

constatées ainsi que du présent certificat. Sont exclus de la garantie: 1) Les

produits réparés par des tiers; 2) Les pannes dues à une mauvaise utilisation, à

un entretien défectueux et à un entartrage.

caso de reparação o aparelho deve ser enviado ao Serviço Técnico mais

próximo acompanhado por este certificado de garantia, que deverá ser

carimbado pelo revendedor e preenchido totalmente para ter validade.

Todos os acessórios do VAPORETTO podem ser coligados entre si. Para os li-

gar à pega de vaporização, proceda do seguinte modo (fig.6):

1b. Coloque o botão de bloqueio (11) (presente em todos os acessórios) na

posição ABERTO.

2b. Insira na pega o acessório que se pretende usar.

3b. Coloque o botão (11) na posição FECHADO.

4b. Verifique se a conexão está bem bloqueada.

O VAPORETTO está dotado com um instrumento indicador (L) cómodo e exacto,

para a visualização imediata da pressão em exercício.

NOTA: Após a primeira emissão de vapor notará uma momentânea perda de

pressão. Este fenómeno é normal cé devido à saída de ar existente na caldeira.

Após breves instantes a máquina terá pressão normal.

Este aparelho está dotado com uma tampa de segurança com patente Polti,

que impede a abertura mesmo acidental da caldeira enquanto no interior se ve-

rificar uma mínima pressão. Portanto para se poder desenroscar é necessário

efectuar determinadas operações, que em seguida descreveremos.

Todas as vezes que a água acabar proceda do seguinte modo:

1c. Desligue o aparelho com o interruptor da caldeira (B).

2c. Puxe o gatilho de comando do vapor (3) na pistola de vaporização (2) ou

carregue no botão de saída de vapor (R) no ferro de engomar (Q) até sair

todo o vapor.

3c. Desligue a ficha (F) da tomada de corrente eléctrica.

4c. Desenrosque a tampa de segurança (A) no sentido contrário ao dos pontei-

ros do relógio.

5c. Espere 3 ou 4 minutos para que a caldeira arrefeça.

6c. Encha novamente a caldeira procedendo como descrito no ponto 1 do pará-

grafo PREPARAÇÃO. Ao encher o reservatório já quente, recomendamos

que efectue o enchimento com pequenas doses de água de cada vez, para

se evitar a evaporação instantânea da água.

1d. Ligue ao gerador de vapor a ficha monobloco do ferro de engomar (4) pro-

cedendo como indicado no ponto 2a. do parágrafo UTILIZAÇÃO.

2d. Para engomar a vapor, regule a temperatura do ferro colocando o botão de

regulação da temperatura (S) na posição ALGODÃO - LINHO.

Para engomar a seco, regule a temperatura segundo o tipo de tecido.

3d. Espere 3 ou 4 minutos até que o botão luminoso (R) se apague indicando

que a base do ferro atingiu a temperatura estabelecida.

Carregue no botão de saída do vapor (R) para permitir a saída do vapor.

Soltando o botão o fluxo interrompe-se. Durante a primeira utilização do ferro,

pode verificar-se a saída pela base de algumas gotas de água misturada com

vapor, isto deve-se à imperfeita estabilização térmica. Aconselhamos-lhe pois

que não oriente o primeiro jacto de vapor para o tecido que deve engomar.

5d. Para conseguir uma saída de vapor contínua, apertar o botão (U) o vapor

continuará a saír mesmo depois de soltar o botão. Para interromper a saída

de vapor deverá apertar o botão (U).

É possível utilizar o ferro mesmo em vertical, vaporizando cortinados, roupa, etc.

IMPORTANTE:

• Não deixe o ferro de engomar sem vigilância enquanto estiver a funcionar.

• Engome somente sobre superfícies resistentes ao calor e que sejam permeá-

veis ao vapor.

• No caso de queda acidental do ferro e necessárío levar o aparelho a un cen-

tro de assistência técnica autorizado porque poderá ter provocado um mau

funcionamento interno que limita a segurança do aparelho.

PRECAUÇÕES

• Para a limpeza de fornos, frigoríficos, lâmpadas e outros aparelhos eléctri-

cos, aconselhamos que desligue sempre a ficha da tomada de corrente, in-

terrompendo assim a corrente aos aparelhos que pretende limpar.

• Antes de tratar peles, tecidos especiais e superfícies de madeira, consulte as

instruções do fabricante e efectue sempre uma prova numa parte escondida

ou numa amostra. Deixe secar a parte vaporizada para se certificar que não

se tenham verificado modificações na cor ou deformações.

• Para a limpeza de superfícies de madeira (móveis, portas, etc.) e de pavi-

mentos de tijoleira tratada, recomendamos um cuidado especial, pois uma

utilização do vapor demasiado prolongada pode danificar a cera, o brilho ou

a cor das superfícies que pretende limpar. Aconselhamos o uso do vapor ne-

stas superfícies somente durante breves intervalos de tempo ou efectuar a

limpeza usando um pano previamente vaporizado.

•

Em superfícies particularmente delicadas (por ex. materiais sintéticos, superfícies

lacadas etc.) recomendamos o uso das escovas sempre cobertas com um pano.

• Para a limpeza de superfícies vidradas em estações com temperaturas parti-

cularmente baixas, aqueça previamente os vidros mantendo a pistola de va-

porização a cerca 50 cm de distância da superfície.

• Para os cuidados com as plantas, aconselhamos a vaporização a uma distân-

cia mínima de 50 cm.

PISTOLA DE VAPORIZAÇÃO (2)

Sem montar as escovas, pode usar só a pistola de vaporização para limpezas

especiais que necessitem, segundo o tipo de material e a natureza da sujidade,

de uma vaporização mais ou menos próxima. Quanto mais difícil for a sujidade,

mais próxima deve estar a pistola de vaporização, pois a temperatura e a pres-

são são maiores no momento da saída.

Em todos os casos, após a vaporização, passe com um pano seco ou com uma

esponja abrasiva se a sujidade for mais resistente.

Use a pistola de vaporização para:

- tratar as nódoas das alcatifas ou dos tapetes, antes de passar a escova;

limpar aço inoxidável, vidros, espelhos, revestimentos estratificados e esmaltados;

- limpar ângulos de difícil acesso tais como escadas, caixilhos das janelas, um-

brais das portas, perfis de alumínio;

- limpar o interior dos fornos, dos frigoríficos, dos congeladores (para uma de-

scongelação rápida);

- limpar os botões do fogão, as bases das torneiras;

- limpar persianas, radiadores, o interior do automóvel;

- vaporizar as plantas de apartamento (à distância);

- eliminar os cheiros e as dobras da roupa.

Em caso de necessidade (zonas de difícil acesso) a pistola pode ser comple-

tada com os tubos de extensão.

ESCOVA GRANDE (8)

É composta pela escova grande (8) e por um ou dois tubos de extensão (7). Uti-

lize esta escova para todas as superfícies laváveis amplas.

Para limpar pavimentos, poise a escova em cima dum pano seco e limpo e passe

para a frente e para trás sem fazer pressão. Quando o pano estiver sujo, vire-o do

outro lado. Use a escova sem pano nas zonas sujas e com incrustações e nas

gretas dos mosaicos, com um movimento lateral para desagarrar a sujidade.

Para as esquinas difíceis e para as nódoas, utilize directamente a pistola; passe-

as depois com um pano. Nas superfícies laváveis verticais, papel de parede ou

no tecto cubra a escova com um pano seco e proceda como para o pavimento.

É aconselhável cobrir a escova com um pano, possivelmente de turco (velhas

toalhas de banho).

Para a limpeza das superfícies vidradas, cubra a escova com um pano de al-

godão que não largue pêlo, fixe-o com as molas apropriadas (9), passe nos vi-

dros para desengordurar e para eliminar todos os vestígios dos detergentes usa-

dos anteriormente. Termine vaporizando com a pistola e seque a superfície. Nas

estações com temperaturas particularmente frias, aqueça previamente os vidros

com a pistola a 50 cm de distância da superfície antes de efectuar a limpeza.

Em todos os tipos de alcatifa sintética ou de lã quer estejam colocadas no

soalho ou na parede assim como em todos os tipos de tapetes, VAPORETTO as-

segura a máxima higiene e restitui o aspecto original reavivando as cores.

Passe na superfície com a escova sem pano para fazer com que a sujidade

venha à superfície, cubra a escova com um pano de algodão fixando-o à escova

com as molas apropriadas (9), e em seguida passe na superfície para apanhar

a sujidade. Segundo a delicadeza da alcatifa dobre o pano duas ou três vezes.

Passe rapidamente, sem fazer pressão com a escova para a frente e para trás

e lateralmente sem parar muito no mesmo ponto. O tratamento pode ser repe-

tido quantas vezes desejar sem perigo para as superfícies. A alcatifa seca

quase imediatamente. No caso de alcatifas muito sujas ou saturadas de produ-

tos detergentes, não insista demasiado; os resultados só serão evidentes após

algumas utilizações com o VAPORETTO.

Para limpar nódoas resistentes, antes de efectuar o tratamento acima descrito

trate directamente a nódoa com a pistola de vaporização (a uma distância de 5-

10 cm) e passe energicamente com um pano.

ESCOVA PEQUENA (12)

Utiliza-se a escova pequena quando o emprego da grande for impossível ou de-

masiado incómodo.

A escova pode ser ligada directamente à pistola de vaporização ou a um ou

dois tubo de extensão.

A escova pequena pode ser utilizada para:

- tecidos de decoração (após ter sido efectuada a prova numa parte escondida);

- veludos e peles (à distância);

- interior do automóvel, pára brisas incrustados;

- pequenas superfícies vidradas;

- azulejos e outras superfícies pequenas.

Para a limpeza da madeira (umbrais, pavimentos, etc.) não vaporize directa-

mente, mas sim com a escova, grande ou pequena, coberta com um pano de

algodão dobrado várias vezes.

Para a limpeza dos móveis vaporize um pano seco, depois efectue a limpeza. A

humidade quente do pano retira o pó, as manchas de sujidade e a electricidade

estática, assim o móvel fica limpo durante mais tempo sem que sejam utilizados

produtos prejudiciais.

COMO UTILIZAR A GARAFFA DE ENCHIMENTO ANTI DERRAME (14)

Abra a garrafa, encha-a com água da torneira e volte a fecha-la tendo o cuidado

de colocar primeiro o tubo dentro da garrafa até ao fundo. Abra o tampão da má-

quina e coloque a boca da garrafa de enchimento dentro do orificio. Quando o ni-

vel de água na caldeira antingir a boca da garrafa, a saída de água pára automa-

ticamente e já pode retirar a garrafa de enchimento colocando-a na vertical.

Nota: Nas máquinas onde se pode visualizar o nível de água, ter atenção ao ní-

vel de água máximo indicado.

ACESSÓRIO 120° (16)

O acessório 120°, que se liga directamente à pistola de vaporização, está do-

tado com um bico inclinado que permite orientar o jacto de vapor, com a pistola

de vaporização, para os pontos mais escondidos e de difícil acesso.

É o ideal para a limpeza dos caloríferos, dos umbrais das portas e janelas, da

loiça da casa de banho e das persianas. É um acessório utilíssimo e insubstituível.

ACESSÓRIO PARA LAVAR OS VIDROS (18-19-20)

O acessório para lavar os vidros permite a limpeza eficaz e rápida de todas as

superfícies vidradas sem o uso de detergentes. Os seus vidros permanecerão

A limpeza dos vidros efectua-se em dois tempos:

- passagem do vapor na superfície, para dissolver a sujidade, usando o gatilho

para comando da saída do vapor (3);

- passagem com a espátula para eliminar a sujidade, sem saída de vapor.

Para a limpeza de superfícies particularmente amplas, é possível ligar o aces-

sório para lavar os vidros aos tubos de extensão.

• Antes de efectuar qualquer operação de manutenção, desligue sem-

pre a ficha da tomada de corrente eléctrica.

• Para manter o aparelho com um rendimento excelente ao longo do tempo,

aconselhamos que despeje e enxagúe a caldeira com água da torneira pelo me-

nos uma vez de 2 em 2 meses ou de 3 em 3 meses; esta operação permite re-

tirar os resíduos de calcário que se depositam no fundo da caldeira. Se a água

da torneira for muito calcária, efectue esta operação com mais frequência. Ne-

ste caso aconselha-se o uso de um descalcificante especial à base de KAL-

STOP TP 2000, à venda em todos os Centros de Assistência POLTI.

de emprego.

• Antes de ligar o VAPORETTO, certifique-se de que a tensão da rede corre-

sponda à indicada nos dados da placa do aparelho e que a tomada esteja do-

tada de fio de terra.

• Nunca utilize detergentes ou substâncias químicas na caldeira. No caso da

água da torneira ser muito calcária, aconselha-se o uso de um descalcifi-

cante especial à base de KALSTOP TP 2000, à venda em todos os Centros

de Assistência POLTI.

Não use, em nenhum caso, água destilada.

• Antes de proceder ao enchimento do aparelho quando já estiver quente,

espere alguns minutos para o deixar arrefecer.

• Durante o enchimento recomendamos que desligue a ficha da tomada de cor-

rente.

• Nunca despeje o VAPORETTO enquanto a água no interior da caldeira ainda

estiver quente.

• Não toque no aparelho com as mãos ou os pés molhados enquanto a ficha

estiver ligada.

• Não mergulhe o aparelho em água ou em qualquer outro lí-

quido.

• Nunca deixe o aparelho sem vigilância quando estiver ligado

à tomada de corrente.

• Não permita que o VAPORETTO seja usado por crianças ou

por pessoas que não tenham conhecimento

de como funciona.

• Se o VAPORETTO permanecer sem ser

usado, recomendamos que desligue a ficha

da tomada de corrente.

Antes de deixarem a fábrica todos os nossos produtos são submetidos a

testes rigorosos. Portanto o Seu VAPORETTO poderá conter água den-

tro la caldeira.

Antes de utilizar o VAPORETTO, proceda à montagem das rodas giratórias

como indicado na figura.

1. Desenrosque a tampa de segurança (A) e encha a caldeira com 1 litro e meio

de água da torneira, utilizando garrafa para o enchimento (14) (fig.1) como in-

dicado no capitulo “Conselhos práticos para a utilização dos acessórios”.

2. Enrosque completamente a tampa com muita atenção (fig. 2).

3. Ligue a ficha do cabo de alimentação (F) a uma tomada de corrente idónea

dotada de fio de terra.

1a. Carregue no interruptor da caldeira (B) e no interruptor dos acessórios (C)

os quais se acenderão.

2a. Abra a portinhola da tomada monobloco (D); introduza a ficha monobloco

(4) carregando no botão apropriado (5) e tomando muita atenção para que

o perno de engate (6) esteja perfeitamente posicionado no orifício de blo-

queio (E) da tomada (fig. 3).

3a. Espere até que interruptor da caldeira (B) se apague. Nesse momento o VA-

PORETTO está pronto para ser usado.

4a. A pega de vaporização (2) está dotada com um botão de segurança (2A)

que impede a activação acidental da saída de vapor por parte de crianças

ou de pessoas que não tenham conhecimento de como funciona o apa-

relho. Com o botão 2A na posição "OFF" o gatilho que comanda a saída de

vapor fica bloqueado. No caso de ter de deixar o tubo momentaneamente

sem vigilância enquanto o aparelho estiver em funcionamento, recomenda-

mos que coloque o botão de segurança na posição "OFF".

Para voltar a comandar a saída de vapor, desloque para trás (ON) o botão

2A e use o gatilho de comando da saída de vapor (fig.4).

Durante a primeira utilização pode verificar-se uma saída de gotas de água, devido

à imperfeita estabilização térmica no interior do tubo. Aconselhamos portanto que

oriente o primeiro jacto de vapor para um pano, até obter um jacto uniforme.

NOTA: interruptor de caldeira (B) ilumina-se e apaga-se durante a utilização do VA-

PORETTO. Isto indica que a resistência eléctrica entra em função para manter a

pressão constante e é pois um fenómeno normal. Se durante a utilização se torcer

excessivamente o tubo, o dispositivo No-Volt interrompe o fluxo de vapor. Para reto-

mar a saída de vapor basta carregar novamente no gatilho do comando do vapor.

Com o VAPORETTO é possível tornar óptimo o fluxo de vapor pretendido, me-

diante o botão de regulação (I) (fig.5). Para obter um maior fluxo gire o botão no

sentido dos ponteiros do relógio. Girando no sentido contrário ao dos ponteiros do

relógio o fluxo diminui. Eis algumas sugestões para o uso da regulação:

para incrustações, nódoas, desinfecções do ambiente, gor-

para alcatifas, tapetes, vidros, pavimentos;

para a vaporização de plantas, a limpeza de tecidos deli-

cados, estofos, sofás, etc.

Nunca despeje o VAPORETTO quando a água na caldeira ainda esti-

ver quente.

• Após o uso das escovas aconselhamos-lhe que deixe arrefecer as cerdas na

sua posição natural, de modo a evitar que se deformem.

• Verifique periodicamente o estado da guarnição colorida que se encon-

tra na ficha monobloco (4). Se for necessário, substitua-a com a peça

de substituição apropriada (15). Efectue o mesmo controle nas guarnições

de ligação dos tubos de extensão (7) e da pistola de vaporização (2).

• Para a limpeza externa do aparelho utilize simplesmente um pano húmido.

Evite o uso de solventes ou detergentes os quais podem danificar a superfí-

cie de plástico.

• No caso de avaria ou de mau funcionamento, nunca tente desmontar o

aparelho e contacte o Centro de Assistência autorizado mais próximo.

• Em caso de reparação ou para a substituição da tampa de segurança espe-

cial, utilize exclusivamente peças de substituição originais Polti.

• Este aparelho está dotado com um limitador térmico de segurança e com

uma válvula da máxima pressão cuja substituição requer a intervenção de um

técnico autorizado.

• No caso de ser necessária a substituição do cabo de alimentação recomen-

damos que contacte com um Centro de Assistência autorizado, pois é neces-

sário o uso dum instrumento especial.

VAPORETTO é garantido por um ano a partir da data de aquisição, contra defei-

tos de fabrico e materiais defeituosos. A garantia não é válida se a avaria for

causada por um uso impróprio. No caso de avaria ou de mau funcionamento do

aparelho, contacte imediatamente o Centro de Assistência autorizado mais

próximo. Eventuais alterações do aparelho por parte de pessoal não autorizado

invalidarão automaticamente a garantia.

• A Polti S.p.A declina toda e qualquer responsabilidade no caso de

acidentes derivantes de uma utilização do VAPORETTO que não re-

speite as presentes instruções para o modo de emprego.

2d. Om met stoom te strijken, stelt u de temperatuur van het strijkijzer met de

regelknop (S) in op de stand COTONE-LINO (katoen-linnen).

Om zonder stoom te strijken, stelt u de regelknop in op de juiste soort textiel.

3d. Wacht 3 tot 4 minuten totdat het lampje (R) uitgaat. Het strijkijzer heeft dan

de juiste temperatuur.

4d. Druk op de stoomknop (R) om stoom te geven. Wanneer u de knop loslaat,

stopt de stoom. Het kan zijn dat tijdens het eerste gebruik van het strijkijzer

er een paar druppeltjes water met stoom verschijnen doordat er nog geen

perfect thermisch evenwicht is bereikt. We bevelen dan ook aan om de eer-

ste stoomstoot niet te richten op het te strijken goed.

5d. Voor een continu stoomuitstroming dient knop (U) naar voren gezet te wor-

den. Er vindt een constante toevoer van stoom plaats, ook als knop wordt lo-

sgelaten. Om de toevoer te onderbreken dient knop (U) weer naar achteren

gezet te worden.

6d. Het strijkijzer kan ook verticaal worden gebruikt voor gordijnen, kleding etc.

BELANGRIJK:

• Laat het strijkijzer niet onbewaakt achter wanneer het aan staat.

• Gebruik alleen strijkplanken die bestand zijn tegen hitte en die stoom doorlaten.

• Als het ijzer gevallen is, moet U het apparaat door een goedgekeurde techni-

sch centrum late controleren. Er kunnen interne schade bestaan dat de veili-

gheid van het apparaat beperken.

VOORZORGSMAATREGELEN

• Voor het reinigen van ovens, koelkasten, lampen en andere elektrische appa-

raten raden we aan om de stekker van deze apparaten uit het stopcontact te

halen, zodat ze niet meer onder spanning staan.

• Lees voordat u leder, speciale weefsels of houten oppervlakken gaat behan-

delen, eerst de instructies van de fabrikant. Probeer eerst een staal te behan-

delen of een deel dat niet in het zicht staat. Laat het met stoom behandelde

deel drogen om te controleren of de kleur niet verandert en of er geen ver-

vormingen optreden.

• Bij het reinigen van tegels met was, moet men aandacht brengen aan het niet

beschadigen van het was, de glans of de kleur door een te hard en langdurig

gebruik van stoom.

• Wanneer u houten oppervlakken behandelt (meubels, deuren enz.) raden wij u

aan om goed op te letten, omdat een te langdurige behandeling de waslaag,

de glanslaag of de kleur van de te reinigen oppervlakken kan aantasten. Wij

adviseren daarom de stoom alleen met korte intervallen op deze opperv-

lakken toe te passen of eerst een doek te behandelen en hiermee de houten

oppervlakken te reinigen.

• Op zeer gevoelige oppervlakken (bij voorbeeld synthetische materialen, gelakte

oppervlakken etc.) kunt u het beste de borstels gebruiken met een doek

eromheen.

• Voor het reinigen van ruiten tijdens seizoenen met bijzonder lage temperatu-

ren, kunt u de ruiten het beste voorverwarmen door het stoompistool op een

afstand van ca. 50 cm van het raam te houden.

• Voor de verzorging van uw planten adviseren wij een afstand van minimaal 50

cm aan te houden.

STOOMPISTOOL (2)

Wanneer u de borstels niet monteert, kunt u het stoompistool gebruiken voor

speciale toepassingen. Denk hierbij aan toepassingen waarvoor, afhankelijk van

het type materiaal of van de aard van het te verwijderen vuil, het stoompistool

min of meer dicht bij het te behandelen oppervlak moet worden gehouden. Hoe

hardnekkiger het vuil, hoe dichter het stoompistool erbij moet worden gehou-

den. De temperatuur en de druk van de stoom zijn het hoogst op het moment

dat de stoom het spuitstuk verlaat.

U moet steeds na de behandeling met stoom het oppervlak nawrijven met een

droge doek of, wanneer het vuil hardnekkig is, met een schuursponsje.

Gebruik het stoompistool om:

• vlekken op vloerbedekking of vloerkleden te behandelen voordat u de borstel

gebruikt;

• roestvrij staal, glas, spiegels, coatings en email te reinigen;

• schoon te maken in moeilijk bereikbare hoekjes bij trappen, raamkozijnen,

deurstijlen en aluminiumprofielen;

• ovens, koelkasten, diepvriezers van binnen schoon te maken (snel ontdooien);

• knoppen van kookplaten of de onderkant van kranen te reinigen;

• jaloezieën, radiatoren of het interieur van uw auto te reinigen;

• om kamerplanten te besproeien (op afstand);

• kwalijke geuren of vouwen uit kleding te verwijderen.

Indien nodig, kan op het pistool een verlengstuk worden gezet (voor moeilijk be-

reikbare stukken).

GROTE BORSTEL (8)

Bestaat uit de grote borstel (8) en één of twee verlengstukken (7). Gebruik deze

borstel voor alle grote oppervlakken die te reinigen zijn.

Om vloeren te reinigen, plaatst u de borstel op een droge, schone doek.

Beweeg de doek naar voren en naar achteren zonder er druk op uit te oefenen.

Wanneer een kant van de doek vuil is, draait u hem om.

Gebruik de borstel zonder doek voor vuile plekken of plaatsen met aangekoekt

vuil en voor voegen tussen tegels. Maak zijwaartse bewegingen met de borstel

om het vuil te verwijderen.

Voor moeilijk bereikbare hoeken en hardnekkige vlekken gebruikt u rechtstreeks

het pistool. Wrijf de plekken die op deze manier behandeld zijn, na met een

doek. Voor verticale, reinigbare oppervlakken of op stoffering en plafonds ge-

bruikt u een droge doek om de borstel en gaat u te werk zoals bij de vloer. Het

beste is om een absorberende doek om de borstel te doen (oude badhand-

doeken). Om ruiten schoon te maken, doet u een katoenen doek die geen plui-

zen achterlaat, om borstel. Bevestig deze in de klemmen (9). Beweeg de borstel

over de ruiten om ze te ontvetten en om alle sporen van reinigingsmiddelen te

verwijderen. Werk de ruiten af door ze met het stoompistool te besproeien en ze

daarna te drogen. In seizoenen met bijzonder lage temperaturen moet u de rui-

ten voorverwarmen door het pistool op 50 cm afstand van de ruit te gebruiken

voordat u ze gaat schoonmaken.

VAPORETTO zorgt ervoor dat alle soorten synthetische of wollen vloerbedekking

of wandbekleding en alle soorten vloerkleden volledig hygiënisch worden en er

weer gaan uitzien als nieuw door de kleuren weer op te frissen. Deze behande-

ling kunt u zo vaak herhalen als u maar wilt zonder gevaar voor de oppervlakken.

De oppervlakken zijn vrijwel onmiddellijk droog. Haal de borstel zonder doek

over het oppervlak om het vuil te verwijderen. Doe daarna een katoenen doek

om de borstel en zet deze doek vast met de klemmen (9). Als de vloerbedekking

meer voorzichtigheid behoeft, vouwt u de doek dubbel of driedubbel.

Beweeg de borstel vlotjes van voren naar achteren en van links naar rechts over

de vloerbedekking zonder er druk op uit te oefenen. Blijf niet te lang op één punt

stilstaan.

Wanneer uw vloerbedekking erg vuil is of verzadigd is met reinigingsmiddelen,

moet u niet blijven poetsen. Pas na enkele keren werken met de VAPORETTO

worden de resultaten zichtbaar.

Om hardnekkige vlekken te verwijderen, kunt u eerst proberen de vlek weg te

krijgen door rechtstreeks het stoompistool te gebruiken (op een afstand van 5-

10 cm) en stevig te boenen met een doek voordat u met de boven beschreven

behandeling begint.

KLEINE BORSTEL (12)

De kleine borstel kunt u gebruiken wanneer u de grote niet kunt gebruiken of

wanneer dat te onhandig is.

De borstel kan direct op het stoompistool worden aangesloten of op één of twee

verlengstukken.

De kleine borstel kan worden gebruikt voor:

• stoffering (eerst uitproberen op een deel dat niet in het zicht staat);

• fluweel en leder (op een afstand);

• interieur van een auto, vuile ruiten;

• kleine glasoppervlakken;

• tegels en andere kleine oppervlakken.

Om hout te reinigen (deurposten, vloeren enz.), niet direct met stoom spuiten,

maar een dubbel of meerdere malen gevouwen katoenen doek om de (grote of

kleine) borstel wikkelen.

Om meubels te reinigen, behandelt u eerst een droge katoenen doek. Deze vo-

chtige, warme doek neemt de stof, de vlekken en de statische elektriciteit weg.

Op deze manier blijft het meubelstuk langer schoon zonder dat u schadelijke

produkten gebruikt.

GEBRUIKSAANWIJZING VAN DE ANTI-LEK VULFLES (14)

De dop opendraaien en de vulfles met water invullen. Het buisje vast in de dop

doen en het geheel op de vulfles sluiten.

De tuit van de vulfles in de ingang van de kuip doen. Het water toevoer stopt au-

tomatisch als het waterniveau in de kuip tot aan de tuit van de vulfles komt. U

gaat dan de vulfles eruit halen en weer in vertikaal stand plaatsen.

Nota: voor de apparaten uitgerust met een kijkvernster voor het waterniveau,

gelieve tot het maximum niveau in te vullen.

120°-STUK (16)

Het 120°-stuk kan direct worden gekoppeld aan het stoompistool. Dit opzetstuk

heeft een gebogen mondstuk waarmee de stoomstoot kan worden gericht naar

de verst verscholen en moeilijk met het stoompistool bereikbare punten.

Ideaal voor het reinigen van radiatoren, deurposten, raamkozijnen, sanitair en ja-

loezieën. Het is een zeer nuttig en ongeëvenaard hulpstuk.

RAMENWASSERS (18-19-20)

Met de ramenwasser kunt u efficiënt en snel alle glazen oppervlakken reinigen

zonder reinigingsmiddelen. Uw ruiten blijven langer schoon doordat er geen

laagje op uw ruit achterblijft, zoals dat wel het geval is bij gewone reinigingsmid-

delen. Op zo’n laag blijven stof en vette dampen kleven.

Ruiten worden in twee stappen gereinigd:

• eerst stoomt u het te reinigen oppervlak om het vuil los te weken; gebruik de

stoomhendel (3);

• dan gebruikt u de borstel zonder stoom om het vuil te verwijderen.

Om erg grote oppervlakken te reinigen, kunt u de ramenwasser op de verleng-

stukken zetten.

• Alvorens onderhoud te plegen, haalt u de stekker uit het stopcontact.

• Om in de loop der tijd het rendement optimaal te houden, raden wij u aan om

minstens om de twee à drie maanden de ketel leeg te maken en om te spoe-

len met kraanwater. Op deze manier haalt u kalkresten weg die zich op de bo-

dem afzetten. Nooit de VAPORETTO leeg maken wanneer het water in

de ketel nog warm is.

• Na gebruik van de borstels kunt u de borstelharen het beste laten afkoelen in

hun natuurlijke stand. Zo voorkomt u vervorming.

• Controleer regelmatig de staat van de gekleurde pakking die zich in

de monoblokstekker (4) bevindt. Indien nodig dient u deze te vervan-

gen met het bijgeleverde onderdeel (15).

Controleer ook de pakkingen van de verlengbuizen (7) en van het stoompi-

stool (2).

• Gebruik voor het reinigen van de buitenkant van het apparaat alleen een voch-

tige doek. Vermijd oplosmiddelen of reinigingsmiddelen die het plastic op-

pervlak kunnen beschadigen.

• Wanneer het apparaat stuk is of slecht werkt, probeer het dan niet te

demonteren, maar ga naar de dichtstbijzijnde officiële technische

centrum.

• Bij reparatie of vervanging van de speciale veiligheidsdop uitsluitend originele

reserve-onderdelen van POLTI gebruiken.

• Het toestel is voorzien van een thermische beveiliging. Wanneer deze laatste

gesprongen is dient U zich uitsluitend te richten tot een officiële naverkoops-

dienst-centrum.

• Als de voedingskabel moet worden vervangen, kunt u het beste naar een offi-

cieel technisch centrum gaan, omdat u speciaal gereedschap nodig heeft.

De VAPORETTO heeft een garantie van 1 jaar tegen fabricage- en materiaalfou-

ten, ingaande op de datum van aankoop. De garantie geldt niet wanneer de

• Controleer voordat u de VAPORETTO aansluit, of de netspanning overeenkomt

met de gegevens op het typeplaatje op het apparaat en of het stopcontact

geaard is.

• Nooit reinigingsmiddelen of chemicaliën in de ketel doen. Bij hard leidingwa-

ter, moet u gebruik maken van de ontkalker KALSTOP TP 2000, te kopen bij

de Polti verdeler. In geen geval gedistilleerd water gebruiken.

• Laat de ketel, als deze nog warm is, enkele minuten afkoelen alvorens hem te

vullen.

• Het is beter om de stekker uit het stopcontact te halen wanneer u het appa-

raat gaat bijvullen.

• De VAPORETTO nooit leegmaken wanneer er nog warm water in zit.

• Het apparaat nooit onderdompelen in water of in andere vloeistoffen.

• Het apparaat nooit onbewaakt achterlaten wanneer de stekker in het stopcon-

tact zit.

• Het apparaat nooit aanraken wanneer de stekker in het stopcontact zit en uw

handen of voeten zich in water bevinden.

• Laat het apparaat niet gebruiken door kinderen of door personen die niet we-

ten hoe het werkt.

• De stekker uit het stopcontact halen wanneer u de VAPO-

RETTO niet gebruikt.

• Niet met de handen in de buurt van de stoomstoot komen.

Voordat onze produkten de fabriek verlaten, worden ze allemaal on-

derworpen aan strenge controles.

Bij het gebruiken uw VAPORETTO kan er water in de ketel blijven.

Monteer voordat u de VAPORETTO gaat gebruiken, de zwenkwielen zoals aange-

geven in de tekening.

1. Draai de veiligheidsdop (A) los en vul de ketel met 2 liter kraanwater. Ge-

bruik daarbij de speciale anti-lek vulfles (14) (fig. 1) als beschreven in de “Prakti-

sche tips voor het gebruik van hulpstukken”.

2. Draai de veiligheidsdop (fig. 2) stevig en met aandacht dicht.

3. Stop de stekker van de voedingskabel (F) in een geaard stopcontact waar

een spanning van op staat.

1a. Druk op de schakelaar van de ketel (B) en op die van de hulpstukken (C). De

controlelampjes gaan branden.

2a. Open het klepje van de monoblokaansluiting (D). Stop de monoblokstekker

erin (4) en druk op de knop (5). Let erop dat het veiligheidspalletje goed in

de opening (E) van de stekker valt (fig. 3).

3a. Wacht totdat het lampje van de schakelaar ketel (B) uitgaat. Nu kan de VA-

PORETTO worden gebruikt.

4a. De handgreep van het pistool (2) is voorzien van een beveiliging (2A). Met

behulp van deze beveiliging wordt voorkomen dat het apparaat per ongeluk

wordt ingeschakeld door kinderen of personen die niet op de hoogte zijn van

de werking van het apparaat. Indien schakelaar 2A in de positie “OFF” staat

is de hendel die de afgifte van stoom regelt, geblokkeerd. Indien men de

slang enige tijd onbeheerd achterlaat terwijl het apparaat aanstaat, dan

wordt aangeraden om de beveiliging in de positie “OFF” te zetten. Om de

stoomafgifte weer te activeren, dient knop 2A in de positie “ON” gezet te

worden en dient men vervolgens de hendel voor de stoomafgifte in te

drukken (fig. 4). Het kan zijn dat u bij het eerste gebruik een paar drup-

peltjes water ziet verschijnen. Dit komt doordat er nog geen perfect thermi-

sch evenwicht is bereikt in het huis. Wij adviseren u daarom de eerste

stoomstoten te richten op een poetsdoek totdat u een uniforme stoomstraal

krijgt.

OPMERKING: het lampje van de schakelaar (B) gaat af en toe aan en uit wan-

neer u met de VAPORETTO werkt. Dit betekent dat de elektrische weerstand weer

gaat werken om de druk constant te houden. Dit verschijnsel is dus normaal.

Indien tijdens het gebruik een te grote kracht wordt uitgeoefend op het verbin-

dingsstuk, wordt de stoomtoevoer onderbroken door het No-Volt systeem. Voor

het weer inschakelen van de stoomtoevoer hoeft u slechts opnieuw de

stoomhendel te drukken.

Met uw VAPORETTO kunt u de hoeveelheid stoom naar wens instellen met

behulp van de regelknop (I) (fig. 5). Voor meer stoom draait U de knop met de

wijzers van de klok mee, voor minder stoom tegen de wijzers van de klok in.

Een paar tips voor het gebruik van de regelknop:

veel stoom:

voor aangekoekt materiaal, vlekken, reiniging, smeer;

(2-3) -

normaal stoom:

voor vloerbedekking, vloerkleden, ramen, vloeren enz.;

(1) -

weinig stoom:

om planten te besproeien, om tere weefsels te reinigen,

stoffering; divans enz.

Alle hulpstukken van de VAPORETTO kunnen op elkaar worden aangesloten.

Om de hulpstukken op de handgreep van het stoomapparaat aan te sluiten, gaat

u als volgt te werk (fig. 6):

1b. Zet de blokkeerknop (11) (zit op ieder hulpstuk) op de stand APERTO (open).

2b. Zet het gewenste hulpstuk op de handgreep.

3b. Zet de knop (11) op de stand CHIUSO (dicht).

4b. Controleer of het hulpstuk stevig is aangesloten.

Op de VAPORETTO zit een praktische en nauwkeurige indicator (L) waarmee de

werkdruk direct kan worden afgelezen.

NOTA: bij het eerste gebruik gaat de stoomdebiet sterk dalen. Dit is normaal

want de lucht in de kuip moet verwijdert worden. Na een paar momenten

gaat het apparaat terug naar zijn normale druk.

Dit apparaat is voorzien van een gepatenteerde veiligheidsdop die ervoor zorgt

dat de ketel niet, zelfs niet per ongeluk, kan worden geopend zolang er ook

maar een minimale druk op de ketel staat. Om de dop te openen moeten er een

paar handelingen worden verricht waardoor de VAPORETTO in een voor de ge-

bruiker absoluut veilige toestand komt.

Steeds wanneer het water op is, moet u als volgt te werk gaan:

1c. Zet het apparaat uit met de ketelschakelaar (B).

2c. Druk net zolang op de stoomschakelaar (3) op het stoompistool (2) of op de

stoomknop (R) op het strijkijzer (Q) totdat er geen stoom meer komt.

3c. Haal de stekker (F) uit het stopcontact.

4c. Maak de veiligheidsdop (A) los door deze tegen de wijzers van de klok in te

draaien.

5c. Wacht 3 tot 4 minuten totdat de ketel is afgekoeld.

6c. Vul de ketel zoals aangegeven in punt 1 van de paragraaf VOORBEREIDING.

Wanneer het reservoir nog warm is, adviseren we met kleine hoeveelheden

water te werken om te voorkomen dat het water meteen verdampt.

1d. Sluit de monoblokstekker van het strijkijzer (4) aan op de stoomgenerator

zoals aangegeven in punt 2a van de paragraaf GEBRUIK.

6d. The iron can also be used in a vertical position e.g. for removing creases

from curtain, clothing etc.

IMPORTANT

• Do not leave the iron unattended whilst connected to the mains.

• Iron only on heat resistant surfaces and on surfaces that allow the steam to

escape e.g. mesh ironing boards.

• If you accidentally drop your iron, you should have it checked by an authorized

Polti Service Centre because some internal malfunctionings might have oc-

cured, limiting the safety of the product.

• When cleaning electric ovens, refrigerators, or other electrical equipment, al-

ways disconnect the electrical item to be cleaned from the mains before

cleaning. Allow to dry before reconnecting.

• For cleaning leather, wood or delicate fabrics especially dralon, velvet and

other pile surfaces, consult the manufacturers instructions. Clean only by us-

ing the hand gun at a safe distance together with a soft cloth and always do a

test on a non visible part of the item first or on a sample. Allow the test area

to dry completely before observing results and effects on surface or colour

before proceeding to clean further areas, ensuring that exactly the same dis-

tance and technique are applied as for the test area. If in doubt, and on sensi-

tive surfaces like fabrics, leather and wood it is always better to ask advice

from your Steam Cleaner dealer.

• For cleaning wood surfaces (furniture, doors etc.) take great care as a too

long application of the steam could alter the waxed appearance, the shine or

the colour of the surfaces cleaned. We therefore recommend you apply the

steam on such surfaces only for brief periods or to clean these surfaces us-

ing a cloth first held in the steam.

• Please pay particular attention while cleaning brick floors: a too long applica-

tion of steam could damage wax, brightness or colour of these surfaces.

• Delicate surfaces (e.g. synthetic materials, lacquered surfaces etc.) we rec-

ommend that the small brush should always be covered with at least two

cloths to reduce the intensity of the steam, and (on machines with steam vari-

ation control) with the steam set at low level.

• If cleaning glass surfaces in particularly low temperatures preheat the glass

using the hand gun from about 50 centimetres distance from the surface to

be cleaned.

• For care of your plants vaporise at a minimum distance of 50 centimetres.

STEAM GUN (2)

The steam gun can be used directly on all spots requiring a stronger, closer

treatment without connecting the brushes. The more resistant the stain, the

closer you should hold the gun; the steam pressure and temperature being

higher at the source. You should however always wipe with a dry cloth (or a

slightly abrasive sponge-if the spot is a difficult one to remove) after using the

gun.

The steam gun is particularly efficient at:

- breaking down rug and carpet stains before they are treated with the large

brush;

- cleaning stainless steel surfaces, panes, mirrors, enamelled surfaces;

- cleaning hard-to-reach corners, such as stairs, window sills, door posts;

- cleaning ovens, refrigerators and freezers (quick defrost) cleaning stove

knobs, or tap - bases;

- cleaning window shutters, heaters, car interiors;

- spraying plants (from a distance);

- removing odours and creases from clothes.

To reach higher points, the steam gun can be connected to one or both exten-

sion tubes.

LARGE BRUSH (8)

Use the large brush (8) with one or two extension tubes (7) on all large washable

surfaces. To wash floors, put a clean, dry kitchen cloth under the brush and

swing back and forth without applying any pressure. Use the other side of the

cloth when the first one is impregnated with dirt. Use the brush directly without

the cloth on particularly dirty or incrusted areas and in spaces between the tiles:

swing the brush sideways to detach the dirt. Highly obstinate stains may require

a steam gun treatment before the brush and cloth are used (an old bath towel is

an ideal cloth) . The same procedures apply to ceilings and vertical surfaces,

like wallpaper: in this case the cloth can easily be fastened around the brush and

held in place by the 4 clips (9) on the brush itself. Vaporetto Ecological System

is ideal for both synthetic and wool rugs as well as for all types of carpets. Its

use will ensure total hygiene, revive colours and restore the original brilliance of

the pile. The treatment can be repeated as frequently as you wish, with no dam-

age whatsoever. Drying occurs practically at once. Fold a cotton cloth over 2 or

3 times (according to the length and resistance of the pile) and fasten it onto the

brush. Move the brush rapidly in all directions without applying any pressure. You

should avoid lingering in the same place, as this may soak the area. Particularly

dirty rugs may need several treatments. Obstinate stains may require the use of

the steam gun prior to treatment.

SMALL BRUSH (12)

The small brush is designed to perform the same operation as the large brush,

only on smaller surfaces. It can be connected to the steam gun with one or two

extension tubes (7) .

For cleaning furniture spray the steam onto a dry cotton cloth then wipe with the

cloth. The warm moist cloth will pick up dirt and static, so that the furniture re-

mains cleaner longer thanks to the absence of sticky film from chemical clean-

ing products.

Smooth cotton cloths are suitable for the treatment of glass surfaces: fasten the

cloth around the brush then pass it over the window pane (or mirror) to remove

the greasy film. Finally, spray the surface with the steam gun and wipe dry with a

clean cloth. In cold weather, window panes will require pre-heating with the

steam gun (from a distance of 10/15 cm), prior to the actual cleaning with the

brush.

HOW TO USE THE NON-DRIP BOTTLE (14)

Unscrew the cap and fill the bottle with water, put the cap back on the neck of

the bottle by inserting first the small tube into the body and then screwing tight.

Put the spout of the bottle close to the filling duct and then insert it. When the

level of water in the boiler reaches the tip of the spout, the water flow stops au-

tomatically. You can then move the bottle back to a vertical position.

120° STEAM NOZZLE (16)

The 120° nozzle (which can be connected directly to the gun or together with

the extension tubes) allows you to concentrate a powerful jet of steam to other-

wise inaccessible locations, such as radiators, door posts, sills and shutters, as

well as for sterilising toilet bowls.

WINDOW SQUEEGEE TOOL (18,19,20)

The Window Squeegee Tool allows you to clean effectively and rapidly all glass

surfaces without using detergents. Your glass wilI remain cleaner longer thanks

to the absence of layers of film normally left behind by chemical cleaning prod-

ucts on which new dust and grease can attach itself.

Cleaning glass is done in two stages:

- Spraying the steam onto the surface to be cleaned to loosen the dirt (not

touching with blade).

- Pulling the blade straight down the window surface from top to bottom with-

out applying the steam, to take away the dirt.

- To clean especially large glass surfaces, attach the Window Squeegee Tool

to the extension tubes.

• Before attempting any maintenance operation, be sure to always disconnect

the appliance from the mains

• To maintain efficient performance, we recommend emptying and flushing out

the generator with tap water at least once a month; this operation flushes

away the scale deposits inside the generator. Never empty the Vaporetto

when the water in the generator is still hot.

• Apply a little Vaseline to the cap thread every 4-5 months to prevent sticking.

• We recommend that the bristles of the brushes are allowed to cool down in

their normal position after use, so as to avoid any mis-shaping.

• Check periodically the condition of the coloured washer connections

on the the central connector (4). If necessary, replace the washers

with the spare washers supplied (15).

Make the same check also on the connection washers of the extension tubes

(7) and of the steam gun (2).

• To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a moist cloth. Do not use sol-

vents or detergents which may harm the body material.

• If cap sticks closed after cooling, eliminate all residual pressure from system.

With generator “on/off” switch on machine in “off” position and accessories

switch on machine at “on” position, operate hand gun until all pressure is ex-

hausted. This allows safety cap to open.

• In the case of a breakdown or malfunction do not attempt to repair

the aplliance yourself but refer to your nearest authorised service

Centre.

• If repairs or replacement parts are required, use only original Polti replace-

ment parts.

• The appliance is fitted with a safety thermostat, which should only be re-

placed by an authorised technician.

• If it is necessary to replace the power supply cable, please refer to the nearest

Poltl authorised service centre, since the use of a special tool is necessary.

The Vaporetto is guaranteed to the original purchaser for one year from pur-

chase date against manufacturing or raw material defects. The guarantee is not

valid if the appliance has been misused in any way. Unauthorised alterations or

repairs to the machine will automatically invalidate this guarantee.

fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a replacement,

available from the appliance manufacturer, is obtained. It is important that the

colour of the replacement fuse cover corresponds with the colour marking on

the base of the plug.

If the plug requires to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or

becomes damaged, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted following

the wiring instruction (below). The plug removed must be disposed of safely as

insertion into a 13A socket is likely to cause an electrical hazard.

These wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following

code.

• Green-and-yellow: Earth

• Blue: Neutral

• Brown: Live

As the colours of the wires in the mains leads of this appliance may not corre-

spond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-

ceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal

in the plug which is marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol or green-

and-yellow.

The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is

marked with the letter “N” or coloured black.

The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is

marked with the letter “L” or coloured red.

• Before using your VAPORETTO carefully read these usage instructions.

• Before connecting VAPORETTO to the mains make sure that the current is the

same as that indicated for the machine and that the plug is an earthed plug.

• Do not introduce any detergent or chemical substance into the generator

tank.

If your tap water is very hard, please use our special decalcifier KALSTOP TP

2000 with natural basis.

Do not use in any event distilled water or descaler.

• Do not refill the tank while it is still hot, allow it to cool down for a few minutes

before refilling.

• During filling and refilling we recommend you disconnect the machine from

the mains supply.

• Never empty VAPORETTO when the water inside the generator tank is still hot.

• Do not place the appliance or any of the tools whilst connected in water or in

any other liquids.

• Do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet whilst the appliance is con-

nected to the mains.

• Never leave the appliance unattended whilst it is connected to the mains.

• Do not allow VAPORETTO to be used by children or by people

who are not familiar with the usage instructions.

• Do not direct the steam jet at people or animals.

• We recommend that the appliance is discon-

nected from the mains whenever it is not in

use.

Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested.

However, your VAPORETTO may contain some residual water in the

boiler.

Before using VAPORETTO for the first time assemble the pivoting wheels as indi-

cated in the diagram.

1. Unscrew the patented safety cap (A) and fill the generator with 1.7 litres of

normal tap water, using the special anti-drip filler bottle (14) (Fig. 1), as de-

scribed in the “Tips for better unit performance”. Do not overfill.

2. Carefully screw on the safety cap to hand tight (Fig. 2).

3. Connect the power supply cable (F) into an earthed power supply of the cor-

rect voltage.

1a. Press down the generator on/off switch (B) and the accessories on/off

switch (C) which will light up.

2a. Open the cover of the central connector block (D) and insert the central con-

nector (4) pressing the connector button (5) and taking care that the locking

tab (6) is correctly positioned in the lock-in aperture (E) on the block (Fig. 3).

3a. Wait for the pressure warning light (K) (where available) to go out. (Note: on

some models where there is no separate pressure indicator light, instead

wait for the light inside the generator on/off switch to go out) (c. 10 min.).

VAPORETTO is now ready for use.

4a. The steam gun (2) is equipped with a safety switch (2A) which prevents the

accidental start of the steam jet by children or people who do not know how

to operate the appliance. With the switch 2A in the “OFF” position, the lever

controlling the steam jet is locked. Should the hose be left unattended for a

moment whilst the appliance is connected to the mains, it is recommended

to put the safety switch in the “OFF” position.

To start the steam jet, move the 2A switch backwards (ON) and activate the

steam request lever (Fig. 4).

The first burst of steam may contain some water droplets, due to imperfect

thermic stabilisation inside the flexible hose. We would therefore advise that

the first jet of steam is played onto an old cloth until a constant pressure of

steam is obtained.

Note: The on/off switch (B) may go on and off from time to time during use of

VAPORETTO. This indicates the machine maintaining the correct and constant

pressure and is quite normal.

Some VAPORETTO models come equipped with a steam regulator control (I)

(Fig. 5). You can use this control to increase the steam flow by turning in a clock-

wise direction. Turning the control in an anti-clockwise direction reduces the

steam flow. Here are some suggestions for the choice of steam flow level:

For encrusted dirt, stains, sanitising, grease

For carpets, rugs, glass, tiles etc.

Delicate steam:

For vaporising plants and cleaning delicate fabrics, uphol-

stery, wallpaper etc. Please read separate warning about use on draylon,

velvet and other delicate fabrics, or on sensitive wood surfaces.

To connect the accessories tools to the hand gun proceed as follows (Fig. 6)

1b. Move the connector button (11) on the accessory to the “open” position.

2b. Attach the required tool to the hand gun.

3b. Move the connector button (11) back to the position ‘closed’

4b. Check that the connector button has engaged and the accessory is fully

connected.

All POLTI machines are equipped with the unique Polti patented safety cap, which

prevents opening of the generator tank as long as there is any pressure remain-

ing inside the tank. This is an important and indispensable safety device, and it is

necessary to follow certain procedures when re-filling the tank.

According to model, ‘water out’ is indicated by a warning light (J), or by an audi-

ble alarm signal from the machine, or on more basic models by the exhaustion

of the steam output.

Whenever you have used up all the water in the tank, follow the following proce-

dures:

1c. Switch off the machine at the generator on/off switch (B)

2c. Press the steam request lever (3) on the hand gun (2) or, if using the iron,

the steam request button (R) on the iron (Q) so as to fully exhaust the steam

supply from the tank.

3c. Disconnect the power supply cable (F) from the mains.

4c. Unscrew anti-clockwise the patented safety cap (A)

5c. Wait 3 to 4 minutes to allow the generator tank to cool down.

6c. When cool proceed to carefully refill the tank as described in paragraph 1 of

the section “Preparation for Use” in the instructions. If refilling the generator

when not completely cooled, we recommend that you carefully pour only

very small quantities of water at each pouring into the tank, so as to avoid

spitting from the tank and cover exposed skin whilst filling.

1d. Connect the connector block at the end of the iron hose (4) to the generator

as shown in point 2a of the section “Instruction for Use”.

2d. For all steam ironing, position the temperature indicator dial (F) to the posi-

tion “COTONE - LINO”. For dry ironing set the temperature control dial ac-

cording to the fabric to be ironed as indicated on the dial.

3d. Wait three to four minutes for the indicator (R) to go out indicating that the

sole plate of the iron has reached the correct temperature.

4d. Press the steam request button on the iron (R) to allow the steam to exit.

Releasing this button stops the steam flow. At first you may find that the

steam contains some water globules and we recommend that the first jet of

steam is therefore played onto an old cloth, and is not directed onto the gar-

ment to be ironed.

For dry ironing do not press the steam request button (R).

5d. In order to have a continuous steam jet, move the button (U) forwards.

Steam will keep on coming out, even if you release the button. To interrupt

the outlet, move the button (U) backwards.

verdeckter Stelle. Dazu dampfen Sie die verdeckte Stelle inten-

siv ein und lassen Sie trocknen. So läßt sich feststellen, ob Farb-

oder Formveränderungen auftreten.

Die schmutzlösende Wirkung des Dampfes wird umso intensiver,

je näher der Dampf an die zu reinigende Stelle herankommt.

Druck und Temperatur des Dampfes sind direkt nach Austritt aus

der Dampfpistole am größten.

ACHTUNG! Leeren Sie das Gerät nie, wenn das Wasser im Tank

noch heiß ist. (Verbrühungsgefahr)

Füllen Sie nie Reinigungsmittel oder chemische Substanzen in

den Kessel.

In Störfällen darf nur der zuständige Kundendienst eingeschaltet

werden.

Die Anschlußleitungen dürfen nicht beschädigt sein. Austausch

nur durch den Kundendienst. Bei unsachgemäßer Handhabung

entfällt die Garantie.

Falsches, nicht passendes oder defektes Zubehör beeinträchtigt

die Funktion des Gerätes. Verwenden Sie deshalb nur Original -

Zubehör.

Beim Nachfüllen von Wasser in den noch erhitzten Kessel, füllen

Sie das Wasser bitte langsam, in kleinen Portionen ein, damit

kein heißes Wasser herausspritzen kann.

Die zulässige Umgebungstemperatur bis 45° C sollte nicht über-

schritten werden.

Das Gerät darf nur auf waagerechten Flächen betrieben werden.

Der Kontakt mit heißen Flächen (z.B. Herdplatten oder Bügelei-

sen) ist zu vermeiden.

Das Gerät nur in trockenen Räumen lagern. Bei Verschmutzung

des Generators, diesen nur mit einem leicht angefeuchteten

Tuch reinigen.

ÖÖ

Nach Betätigung des Generator und Zubehörschalters heizt das Gerät nicht auf

(Kontroll. aus).

Schalter richtig betätigt ? Bitte noch einmal versuchen!

Stromanschluß hergestellt ? Bitte Netzstecker prüfen!

Nach betätigen des Hebels am Handgriff tritt kein Dampf aus.

Bitte prüfen Sie, ob die Dampfregulierung geöffnet ist ?

Prüfen Sie ob der Zubehörschalter eingeschaltet ist !

Bei Gebrauch des Gerätes tritt Wasser aus.

Es wurde Wasser am Einfüllstutzen vorbei geschüttet.

Dieses läuft durch ein im Gehäuseinneren durch- geführten Ablaufschlauch

zum Gehäuseboden und tritt dort wieder aus.

Während des Gebrauchs kommt kein Dampf mehr.

Der Tank ist leer. Bitte erst Druck ablassen, wie in der Bedienungsanleitung

beschrieben und dann mit dem Nachfüllen beginnen.

Das Zubehörteil läßt sich nicht zusammenstecken.

Steht der weiße Schiebeschalter auf “offen” ? Falls nicht bitte öffnen und zu-

sammenstecken.

Es tritt Dampf an der Dampfkupplung oder an einem Zubehörteil aus.

Evtl. Gummidichtung am Blockstecker (blau) oder an den Verlängerungsroh-

ren (schwarz) austauschen.

Es tritt Dampf am Sicherheitsverschluß aus.

Vergewissern Sie sich, ob die weiße Teflondichtung im lnnern des Gewinde-

stückes vorhanden ist. Bei Bedarf austauschen.

Der Dampfreiniger ist aus stoßfestem Kunststoff gefertigt

Der weltweit patentierte Sicherheitsverschluß kann bei unter Druck stehendem

Kessel nicht geöffnet werden.

Das Sicherheitsventil verhindert das Überschreiten des maximal zulässigen Be-

triebs- überdrucks von 5 bar.

Der Druckwächter (Pressostat) schaltet die Heizung bei Erreichen des Betriebs-

drucks aus und bei Dampfabnahme wieder ein.

Das Sicherheitsthermostat unterbricht bei zu starker Erwärmung des Tankober-

teils oder bei Ausfall des Druckwächters die Stromversorgung der Heizung.

Die patentierte POLTI- Null-Volt Dampfschaltung am Handgriff verhindert Fehl-

funktionen im Stromfluß.

Ein spezielles Thermostat unterbricht die Stromzufuhr der Heizung, wenn eine zu

hohe Erwärmung des Tankunterteils, z.B. durch Wasserleerstand besteht.

Der Spritzwasserschutz verhindert das Eindringen von Wasser und sonstiger

Feuchtigkeit in den Generator und schützt diesen vor Fehlfunktionen und Be-

schädigungen.

Der Druckbehälter aus einer speziellen EXTRA-AL-P -Legierung, ist auf den 6-fa-

chen des max. zul. Betriebsüberdruckes geprüft und hält somit einem Druck von

min. 30 bar stand.
