RESIDUAL RISK DUE TO THE REMOVAL OF SHELTERS FIXED INTERVENTION ON FAULTY OR WORN PARTS
For any case the operator should never groped to open or remove a fixed guard
or tampering with asafety device.
During the maintenance and cleaning, and during all further manual operations that occur by
introducing hands or other body parts of electrical equipment in hazardous areas, there remains
a residual risk due primarily to:
1. Collisions with building parts of electrical equipment,
2. Creep and/or abrasion with rough parts of electrical equipment
The operator and the maintenance as well as being adequately informed and trained, whenever
performing the above operations, must use protective devices of the head, hands, feet
and clothing appropriate.
In addition, the operator and the maintainer must be trained for the intervention
connected to the operations manual, must be educated about the consequent risks
involved and must be authorized by the person responsible.
RESIDUAL RISK DUE TO LIFTING OPERATIONS AND TRANSPORT
The lifting and transport of the electrical, involve a residual risk mainly due to shock, crushing,
dragging, sliding or abrasion. The operations manager of transportation/handling must
adequately inform the staff of these residual risks.
Both the staff handling both the operator, the maintainer as well as being adequately informed
and trained and to respect the rules of intended use, must use protective devices of the
head, hands, feet and clothing appropriate.
RISK DUE TO POSSIBLE BURNING
For the operator in the front area (loading area) and on the fixed plane, there is still a residual
risk in the phase loading / unloading of maintenance and cleaning and during all the subse-
quent manual operations that take place by introducing the hands or other body parts in the
areas dangerous, due to the possible burn, due to the presence of parts that have a
temperature higher than the level of burn (45° C).
Therefore both the driver and the maintenance, in addition to being adequately informed and
trained, must operate with caution, respect the instructions given on the labels affixed near the
fixed guards and the various access points and proceeding with extreme caution, avoiding
contact with these parts.
From arrest, or in an emergency or to stop functional or absence of electricity
supply:
1. The operator for the activities of loading and unloading, must always use appropriate protection
devices for the hands for the limbs, such as gloves and clothing against the thermal hazard,
resistant and suitable for the particular nature of the risk.
2. The maintainer to perform interventions, before the expiry of the aforementioned time, must
always use appropriate protective equipment above.
3. Both the operator and maintainer, to perform cleaning, maintenance, replacement parts
etc... must not access any part of the body, including the hands and arms, on the inside of
the machine, but must wait at least 4 hours after ‘outage (cooling time of the parts with a
temperature considered to burn) as indicated in the labels are in proximity of access points and
shelters fixed / mobile.
The workers should not wear rings, watches, jewelry, apparel bargain, scarves, ties, or any
other garment or accessory drooping that can be a source of risk; tighten the sleeves around the
wrists, and always keep the hair collected.
