The prime advantage of V-Drums, compared to acoustic drums, is that with the push of a button

you can change the sounds to adapt to absolutely any and every style of music. The TD-9 has 522

sounds set up in 50 kits. And sound editing is possible. Start out by switching kits to experience

the wide variety of sonic possibilities.

2. Use the [+/-] buttons or turn the

[VALUE] knob to select dierent

kits.

If you want to use the “cross

stick” function, press the

[F3] button to turn it on

(“XSTICK”).

1. Press the [KIT] button.

The [KIT] button lights up and the “DRUM KIT” name

appears in the display.

Like acoustic drums, V-Drums, no matter what pad conguration you have chosen, will give you

an incredibly natural expressiveness, feeling and response. This allows you to play as you would

on acoustic drums.

2. Playing with the on-board songs

The TD-9 has 50 pre-programmed songs featuring a variety of styles. You can also use the MIX IN

jack to play along with an external audio source (MP3 player or CD player etc). And you can con-

nect a USB Key as well for the same purpose.

1. Press the [SONG] button.

The [SONG] button lights up and the “SONG” screen

appears.

2. Use the [+/-] buttons or turn the

[VALUE] dial to select a song.

3. Press the [ ] button.

The [ ] button lights up, and playback begins.

When you press the [

] button again, the button

goes dark and playback stops.

Playing along with the built-in songs

By pressing the [MUTE]

button you can mute the

pre-programmed drum

part.

Playing along with music from a portable audio player

Use MIX IN jack to connect your MP3 player, CD or other audio source.

1. Connect it to the TD-9’s MIX IN jack as shown in the illustration.

2. Using an external audio source.

For details, refer to the owner’s manual of your audio player.

* The sound received at MIX IN will be output from the main OUTPUT and PHONES jacks.

* The volume/audio level from the external source will determine the balance between it and the level of

your playing on the TD-9. Adjust accordingly.

Playing along with songs from a USB memory key

After you have saved songs on your USB memory key from your

computer, you can use this as an external audio source to play

along with.

We cannot guarantee operation if other products are used.

1. Press the [SHIFT] + [SONG] buttons.

The [SONG] button will light, and the “EXTERNAL SONG” screen

appears.

2. Use the [+/-] buttons or turn the [VALUE] dial.

New horizons by using USB keys

The TD-9’s USB port allows you to

use audio data saved to a USB key for

practice or live performances.

IMPORTANT: Only audio les in the

following formats can be used.

3. Practice applications

V-Drums make practicing more enjoyable. The TD-9 features a Quick Rec function that lets you

easily record your performance. The Quick Play function allows immediate play back of that re-

corded performance. The Scope function lets you see your timing accuracy in the display, a help-

ful tool to improve your drumming technique.

1. Press the [QUICK REC] button.

The [QUICK REC] button lights up, and the “QUICK

REC” screen appears.

3. Press the [QUICK PLAY] button.

The [QUICK PLAY] button lights up, and playback

begins.

* Quick Play only plays back performances you recorded

using the Quick Rec function.

Recording/playing your performance

2. Hit any pad or press the [ ] button.

Recording begins. When you press the [QUICK REC]

button once again, recording stops and the [QUICK

REC] button goes dark.

If you only want to record your drum performance, do

as explained above.

If you want to record your performance together with

a built-in song, press the [QUICK REC] button and then

press the [

] button to start recording.

Practicing and monitoring your timing

The TD-9’s Scope function makes practicing even more fun and challenging by displaying your

timing in real time.

1. Press the [SCOPE] button.

The [SCOPE] button lights up, and the “SCOPE” screen appears.

2. Strike a pad.

The screen will show your timing.

Press the [SCOPE] button again to exit the “SCOPE” function. The button goes dark.

Practicing with the metronome

Practicing with the TD-9’s built in metronome will help you perfect your tempo skills.

Using the metronome

1. Press the [CLICK (TEMPO)] button.

The [CLICK (TEMPO)] button lights up and

the metronome starts. Press the button again

to stop it.

2. While holding down the [SHIFT]

button, press the [CLICK (TEMPO)]

button.

The “TEMPO” screen appears.

3. Use the [+/-] buttons or the [VALUE]

knob to adjust the tempo.

in to see more details.

By pressing the [F2] (ZOOM-) button you can zoom

out to see a broader area.

4. Expanding the drum kit

Connecting an extra tom pad (PD-85: sold separately)

Use a stereo cable to connect the PD-85 to the TD-9 as shown in the illustration.

1. Attach the Pad Mount (MDH-10U : sold separately) to the stand.

2. Connect the cable included with the

pad to the TD-9’s AUX jack.

There are dierent ways to expand the size of the TD-9K2/9KX2 to adapt to your playing style.

By adding a V hi-hat, you can enjoy the same playing feel and expressiveness as with an acoustic

hi-hat.

Use a stereo cable to connect the CY-8 to the TD-9 as shown in

the illustration.

1. Attach the Cymbal Mount to the

stand.

2. Connect the cable included with the

pad to the TD-9’s CRASH2 jack.

The V hi-hat is a prime example

of Roland’s V-Drums technology

The main feature of the V hi-hat (VH-

11) is the design that creates the

movement, weight and playing feel of

a acoustic hi-hat.

The VH-11 can be mounted on a just

about any hi-hat stand, allowing

normal bow/edge playing technique,

smooth transition between the open

and closed position and even foot

splashes.

Connecting a V hi-hat (VH-11: sold separately)

Use the existing cables to connect the VH-11 to

the TD-9 as shown in the illustration.

1. Connect the HH (hi-hat trigger) cable

to the TRIGGER OUT jack.

2. Connect the HHC (hi-hat control) cable

to the CONTROL OUT jack.

* The hi-hat stand is sold separately.

Quellen stammen: a) aus dem TD-9 selbst (das TD-9 besitzt 50 vorprogrammierte Songs),

b) von einem Audio-Player (mp3, CD, MD etc.), der am MIX IN des TD-9 angeschlossen ist, oder

c) von einem USB Stick, der am TD-9 angeschlossen ist.

Quick Play-Funktion wird die Aufnahme sofort abgespielt.

Mit der Scope-Funktion wird das eigene Spiel in Echtzeit überprüft.

Die [QUICK REC]-Anzeige leuchtet, und das “QUICK

REC”-Display erscheint.

4. Erweitern des Drum-Kits

Schließen Sie das PD-85 (zusätzliches Zubehör) mithilfe eines Stereokabels an das TD-9 an.

1. Befestigen Sie die Pad-Halterung (MDH-10U, zusätzliches Zube-

hör) am MDS-Ständer.

2. Schließen Sie das mit dem Pad

mitgelieferte Stereokabel an die

AUX-Buchse des TD-9 an.

Sie können Ihr TD-9K2 bzw. TD-9KX2 V-Drum Kit durch Hinzufügen weiterer Pads vergrößern, z.B.

Die V Hi-hat (Beispiel: VH-11) besitzt

Die VH-11 V Hi-hat kann auf einem

konventionellen Ständer montiert

werden und erlaubt alle Hi-hat-ty-

pischen Spieltechniken.

Anschließen der V hi-hat VH-11

Verwenden Sie die vorhandenen Kabel, um die

VH-11 an das TD-9 anzuschließen.

1. Verbinden Sie das HH (Hi-hat Trigger)-

ple de la technologie V-Drums

La caractéristique principale du “V-Hi-

Hat” VH-11 tient à sa conception qui

recrée le mouvement, le poids et la

réponse d’un charleston acoustique.

Le VH-11 peut être monté sur n’importe

quel pied de charleston, ce qui permet

de conserver des techniques de jeu sur

le corps/bord, une transition continue

quello che avete registrato. La funzione Scope vi permette di vericare sullo

schermo la vostra precisione

La caratteristica principale del V hi-hat

(VH-11) sta nel fatto che ricrea il movi-

Il VH-11 può essere montato su di un

Grabar/reproducir la interpretación

Golpee algún pad o pulse el botón [ ].

Se inicia la grabación. Cuando vuelva a pulsar

el botón [QUICK REC], la grabación se detendrá y se

apagará el botón [QUICK REC].

Si sólo quiere grabar la interpretación de batería,

proceda como se explica arriba.

Si desea grabar la interpretación junto con una canción

Practicar y controlar la temporización

La función “Scope” del TD-9 consigue que practicar sea aún más divertido y motivador, ya que le

Meespelen met muziek op een draagbare audiospeler

3. Oefentoepassingen

Met V-Drums wordt oefenen veel leuker. De TD-9 beschikt over een Quick Rec-functie waarmee u heel

eenvoudig uw eigen performance kunt opnemen. De Quick Play-functie speelt deze opgenomen

performance ook onmiddellijk weer af. De Scope-functie toont in de display hoe accuraat uw timing is,

een waardevol hulpmiddel om uw drumtechniek te verbeteren.

1. Druk op de [QUICK REC]-toets.

De [QUICK REC]-toets licht op en het “QUICK REC”-

scherm verschijnt.

3. Druk op de [QUICK PLAY]-toets.

De [QUICK PLAY]-toets licht op en de weergave begint.

* Quick Play speelt enkel performances af die werden

opgenomen met de Quick Rec-functie.

Uw performance opnemen/afspelen

2. Sla op een pad of druk op [ ].

De opname begint. Als u nogmaals op de [QUICK

REC]-toets drukt, stopt de opname en dooft de

[QUICK REC]-toets uit.

Als u enkel uw drumpartij wil opnemen, doe dan zoals

hierboven beschreven is.

Als u uw drumpartij samen met een interne song wil

opnemen, druk dan op de [QUICK REC]-toets en druk

daarna op de [

]-toets om de opname te starten.

Tijdens het spelen uw timing controleren

De Scope-functie van de TD-9 maakt oefenen nog leuker en uitdagender doordat u in de display

uw timing in real time kunt aezen.

1. Druk op de [SCOPE]-toets.

De [SCOPE]-toets licht op en het “SCOPE”-scherm verschijnt.

2. Sla een pad aan.

Op het scherm verschijnen de gegevens van uw timing.

Druk nogmaals op de [SCOPE]-toets om de “SCOPE”-functie te verlaten. De toets dooft uit.

Oefenen met de metronoom

Door te oefenen met de metronoom van de TD-9, leert u perfect in het tempo spelen.

De metronoom gebruiken

1. Druk op de [CLICK (TEMPO)]-toets.

De [CLICK (TEMPO)]-toets licht op en de

metronoom start. Druk nogmaals op de toets

om hem te stoppen.

Het tempo wijzigen

2. Houd de [SHIFT]-toets ingedrukt en

druk op de [CLICK (TEMPO)]-toets.

Het “TEMPO”-scherm verschijnt.

3. Stel het tempo in door middel van

de [+/-]-toetsen of het [VALUE]-

wiel.

Met de [F3] (ZOOM+)-toets kunt u inzoomen om

meer details te zien.

Met de [F2] (ZOOM-)-toets kunt u uitzoomen om

een globaler beeld te zien.

4. De drumkit uitbreiden

Een extra tom pad aansluiten (PD-85: apart verkocht)

Sluit de PD-85 aan op de TD-9 met behulp van een stereokabel, zoals hieronder getoond.

1. Bevestig de montageklem (MDH-10U : apart verkocht) op de

stand.

2. Sluit de kabel die bij de pad werd

bijgeleverd, aan op de AUX jack

van de TD-9.

U kunt de TD-9K2/9KX2 op verschillende manieren uitbreiden om hem aan te passen aan uw

eigen speelstijl. Door bv een V hi-hat toe te voegen, kunt u hetzelfde speelgevoel en expressieni-

veau verkrijgen als met een akoestische hi-hat.

die hier in het lichtgrijs zijn afgebeeld. Deze conguratie

is makkelijk uit te breiden.

Een crash-cimbaal aansluiten

(CY-8: apart verkocht)

Sluit de CY-8 aan op de TD-9 met behulp van een stereo-

kabel, zoals hieronder getoond.

1. Bevestig het cimbaalstatief op de

stand.

2. Sluit de bijgeleverde kabel aan op

de CRASH2 jack van de TD-9.

De V hi-hat is een typevoorbeeld

van Roland’s V-Drums-technologie.

Het hoofdkenmerk van de V hi-hat

(VH-11) is het design, dat de beweging,

het gewicht en het speelgevoel van

een akoestische hi-hat reconstrueert.

U kunt de VH-11 op zowat elke hi-hat

stand monteren, zodat een nor-

male boog/rand-speeltechtniek, een

naadloze overgang tussen open en

gesloten positie en zelfs foot splashes

mogelijk zijn.

Een V hi-hat aansluiten (VH-11: apart verkocht)

Sluit met de bijgeleverde kabels de VH-11 aan op

de TD-9, zoals hiernaast getoond.

1. Sluit de HH (hi-hat trigger)-kabel aan

op de TRIGGER OUT jack.

2. Sluit de HHC (hi-hat control)-kabel aan

op de CONTROL OUT jack.

* De hi-hat stand wordt apart verkocht.

* De cimbaalpad (CY-5) die oorspronkelijk voor de

hi-hat werd gebruikt, kan ook dienen als splash- of

crash-cimbaal. Monteer deze op een cimbaalstatief

(MDY-12: apart verkocht) of een Cymbal Parts Set

(CYM-10: apart verkocht).
