Introduction
The MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW sensor module is a USB environmental sensor
extension to the AP-8132 model Access Point. It provides a wireless sensing
mechanisms for ambient lighting conditions, allowing monitoring and reporting
within the AP-8132's radio coverage area. The output of the sensor's detection
mechanisms are reported and viewable within the software architecture.

Warnings
• Read all installation instructions and site survey reports, and verify correct
equipment installation before connecting the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW
environmental sensor module.
•Remove jewelry and watches before installing this equipment.
•Verify any device connected to this unit is properly wired and grounded.
•Verify there is adequate ventilation around the device, and that ambient
temperatures meet equipment operation specifications.
Precautions
Before installing a MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW, verify the following:
•Do not install the MOD-8XXX-6001S-WW in wet or dusty areas.
•Verify the environment has a continuous temperature range between -20°C to
75°C

The MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW environmental sensor module is plenum rated.
CAUTION To maintain the plenum rating, the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW
must be directly attached to the Access Point. Do no install the sensor
module using the optional mounting hardware or an extension cable.

Installing the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW on an AP-8132 Access Point
CAUTION Power off the Access Point prior to installing the
MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW.
No tools are required to install the sensor module. The tabs on the top and
bottom of the module snap into the corresponding slots on the Access Point.
1. Align the tabs on the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW with the corresponding slots on
the Access Point.
2. Securely attach the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW to the Access Point. The module
can be attached to either side of the Access Point.
3. Confirm the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW is operational by observing its LED.
To remove the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW, depress the tabs on the top and
bottom of the sensor module and carefully detach it from the Access Point.
Installing the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW Using the Mounting Hardware
1. Attach the mounting bracket at the desired location using wall anchors and
1/8 inch x 1 1/2 inch screws (customer supplied).
2. Align the tabs on the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW with the corresponding slots on
the mounting bracket and securely attach the sensor module.
3. Connect the MOD-8XXX-0001E-WW to the Access Point using a USB
extension cable (customer supplied).
4. Confirm the sensor module is operational by observing its LED.
