ONDERHOUD
Zorg dat de machine niet onder spanning staat
wanneer onderhoudswerkzaamheden aan het
mechaniek worden uitgevoerd.
De machines van Ferm zijn ontworpen om gedurende
lange tijd probleemloos te functioneren met een minimum
aan onderhoud. Door de machine regelmatig te reinigen
en op de juiste wijze te behandelen, draagt u bij aan een
hoge levensduur van uw machine.
Reinigen
Reinig de machine-behuizing regelmatig met een zachte
doek, bij voorkeur iedere keer na gebruik. Zorg dat de ven-
tilatiesleuven vrij van stof en vuil zijn.
Gebruik bij hardnekkig vuil een zachte doek bevochtigd
met zeepwater. Gebruik geen oplosmiddelen als ben-
zine, alcohol, ammonia, etc. Dergelijke stoffen beschadi-
gen de kunststof onderdelen.
Smeren
De kompressor heeft geen extra smering nodig. De tacker
daarentegen wel, zoals in de gebruiksaanwijzing is ver-
meld.
Storingen
Indien zich een storing voordoet als gevolg van bijvoor-
beeld slijtage van een onderdeel, neem dan contact op
met uw plaatselijke Ferm-dealer.
MILIEU
Om transportbeschadiging te voorkomen, wordt de
machine in een stevige verpakking geleverd. De verpak-
king is zo veel mogelijk gemaakt van recyclebaar materi-
aal. Maak daarom gebruik van de mogelijkheid om de ver-
pakking te recyclen.
Breng oude machines wanneer u ze vervangt naar uw
plaatselijke Ferm-dealer. Daar zal de machine op milieu-
vriendelijke wijze worden verwerkt.

COMPRESSOR/NAILING KIT
The following symbols are used in these instructions for
use:
Denotes risk of personal injury, loss of life or
damage to the tool in case of non-observance of
the instructions in this manual.
Denotes risk of electric shock.
Carefully read this manual before using the machine.
Make sure that you know how the machine functions and
how to operate it. Maintain the machine in accordance
with the instructions to make sure it functions properly.
Keep this manual and the enclosed documentation with
the machine.
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electric machines always observe the
safety regulations applicable in your country to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal
injury. Read the following safety instructions and
also the enclosed safety instructions.
1. Personal Safety - Avoid wearing loose clothing, jewel-
lery or anything that could get caught in moving parts.
Long hair should be tied back.
Use of safety goggles is recommended (normal glas-
ses are not sufficient for eye protection).
Face or dust masks should be used if dust is produced
or working overhead and ear protection is advised
during periods of extended operation.
2. Clean Work Area - Cluttered areas and benches invite
injuries. Keep floors clearand dry.
3. Dangerous Environment - Do not use your Nailing Kit
in damp or wet locations.
4. Always Use The Correct Power Tool - Do not attempt
to use the Nailing Kit for a purpose for which it was not
designed. The Nailing Kit will give much better service
if you do not use excessive force.
5. Guard Against Electric Shocks - Avoid body contact
with earthing surfaces (e.g. radiators, pipes, dishwas-
hers, refrigerators). Do not touch metal parts of the
Nailing Kit when nailing into walls.
6. General Safety - Secure work with a clamp,
do not over-reach and do not use when tired.
7. Check Before Use - Make sure switch is in the OFF
position before plugging in the mains lead. Always
check the Nailing Kit is not damaged before turning on.
Any damaged parts should be correctly repaired or
replaced.
8. Disconnect the Compressor when not in use, or when
changing accessories or bits. Always unplug when
leaving the Compressor unattended.
9. Protect The Cable - Never carry the Compressor by its
cable, or pull it to remove the plug from the socket. Pro-
tect cable from sharp objects, heat and oil. If dama-
ged, have it replaced.
10. Maintain The Nailing Kit - Keep clean and in good wor-
king order for best and safest performance. Always
follow instructions for changing accessories.
11. Beware Children & Pets - Children and pets should be
kept at a safe distance from the work area.
All tools should be kept out of reach of children and
stored in a safe place.
12. This equipment must not be used in an explosive envi-
ronment.
13. Do not attempt to use the air nailer whilst on a ladder.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Strictly observe the following safety measures:
1) Disconnect the compressor from the mains supply
before making any adjustments to the machine.
2) Do not carry out any electrical or mechanical modifica-
tions to the product. If problems arise, immediately call
the supplier.
3) Do not spray the airline or direct any spraygun or
attachment at flames or heat sources.
4) Avoid prolonged exposure of the machine to the direct
rays of the sun, in order not to overheat plastic parts.

5. GEBRUIKSAANWIJZING TACKER

ALGEMEEN
De tacker dient met de bijgeleverde luchtcompressor en
slang te worden gebruikt. De tacker is gemaakt voor het
verwerken van nummer 18 platte spijkers van 15mm t/m
50 mm lengte in hout. De maximale druk in de tacker
bedraagt 6,12 bar of 90 psi. Gebruik bij deze tacker uitslui-
tend Performance Power Brad Nails. Draag altijd leren
handschoenen en een veiligheidsbril als u met dit product
werkt.

BEDRIJF

Gebruik hiertoe de meegeleverde oliespuit. De tacker
dient regelmatig te worden gesmeerd. Gebruik altijd
luchtslangsmeerolie. Sluit de luchtslang niet aan voor-
dat de tacker met spijkers is geladen. Druk voor het la-
den van de tacker op de sluiting (figuren 5.1 en 5.2), en
schuif het magazijn eruit.
Breng de nagels aan en schuif het magazijn terug op zijn
plaats. Deze dient stevig met de sluiting vergrendeld te
zijn. Sluit de luchtleiding aan op de snelkoppeling, terwijl
de kraan van de luchtuitlaat op de compressor dichtge-
draaid is.
Draai als de luchtcompressortank volledig op druk is, de
kraan langzaam open en stel de rode luchtuitlaatdrukre-
gelaar in.

Electrical safety
Always check that the mains voltage corres-
ponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
Replacing cables or plugs
Immediately throw away old cables or plugs when they
have been replaced by new ones. It is dangerous to insert
the plug of a loose cable in the wall outlet.
Using extension cables
Only use an approved extension cable suitable for the
power input of the machine. The minimum conductor size
is 1.5 mm

. When using a cable reel always unwind the
reel completely.
Regularly inspect all electrical connections and wiring
condition for damage. Any faults detected should be
immediately rectified before further use of the machine.
Always have the wiring checked by a qualified electrician.
When in use, ensure all wiring and extensions are kept
clear of any cutting tool, sharp objects and any other work-
shop hazards such as wet floors or chemicals.
This appliance must be protected by a 13 amp fuse
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this pro-
duct to rain or moisture. There are no user serviceable
parts inside. Always refer servicing to qualified service
personnel. Never remove any part of the casing unless
qualified to do so. This unit contains dangerous voltages.

HET STARTEN VAN DE MACHINE
Let er voor het starten van de machine op, dat
tijdens transport de machine niet beschadigd
is. Als u beschadigingen waarneemt, stel dan onmiddel-
lijk uw leverancier op de hoogte.
- Start de machine door de rode knop (1) naar de aan-
positie te trekken.

Sluit de slang op de kraan van de luchtuitlaat aan.
Verdraai vervolgens de rode knop van de regelaar
totdat de gewenste werkdruk bereikt is (trek de knop
omhoog om in te stellen en duw hem weer naar be-
neden om te blokkeren).
Als u dit gedaan heeft, is de compressor klaar voor
gebruik.
Voordat u de aansluitingen losmaakt, dient de
slang volledig drukvrij te zijn. Dit om te voorko-
men dat de slang rond gaat springen, met als gevolg
mogelijke persoonlijke verwondingen.
HET UITZETTEN VAN DE COMPRESSOR
- De compressor is uitgerust met een luchtdrukscha-
kelaar (3), waarmee automatisch het starten en
stoppen van de elektrische compressormotor gere-
geld wordt. Met de algemene rode schakelaar (1)
kan de compressor echter onafhankelijk van de
luchtdrukschakelaar uitgeschakeld worden.
- Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact, draai de kraan
dicht en verwijder de slang van de kraan. Open ver-
volgens de ontluchtingsklep (Fig. 3.1 - 5) om de druk
uit de compressor te laten ontsnappen.
Stop de compressormotor nooit door de stek-
ker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Gebruik al-
tijd de aan/uit-schakelaar op de compressor.
ONDERHOUD - LUCHTFILTER
Verwijder de schroef van de kap (8) en vervolgens de
kap. Deze kan worden verwijderd door aan de boven-
kant te trekken en tegelijkertijd de beide klemmen aan
de zijkanten onderaan vrij te houden. De filterbehuizing
is een zwarte dop aan de bovenkant van de machine.
Schroef het filterhuis los (1 schroef) en verwijder het fil-
ter.
CONDENSVORMING
Door de snelle luchtcompressie in de tank kan er con-
densatie optreden. Om te voorkomen dat er zich water
in de tank verzamelt, dient u de tank periodiek af te tap-
pen door de ontluchtingsklep aan de onderkant van de
tank (5) los te maken. Maak de tank volledig drukvrij
door de luchtkraan aan de uitlaat volledig open te draai-
en. Draai de ontluchtingsklep weer vast voordat u de
compressor weer op drukt brengt.
De elektrische motor is beveiligd met een ther-
mische onderbreker, die aanspreekt in het on-
waarschijnlijke geval van een oververhitte motor.
Het aanspreken van de thermische onderbreker heeft
plotseling stoppen of intermitterende werking tot gevolg.
Let er in dit geval op dat:
a) De voedingsspanning overeenkomt met de aange-
geven spanning op de compressor.
b) De maximale kalibratiedruk van de drukregelaar
minder bedraagt dan of gelijk is aan 8,0 bar of 116
psi. De maximale werkdruk van de tacker als deze
door de compressor wordt gevoed, bedraagt 6,12
bar of 90 psi en mag niet worden overschreden.
c) Er geen vreemde geluiden of trillingen tijdens het
draaien van de compressor worden waargenomen.

STARTING THE MACHINE
Make sure no damage has occurred during
transportation, before you start the machine. If
any damage is visible, notify the retailer immediately.
- Start the electric motor by pulling the red knob (1) to
the "on" position.
USING THE COMPRESSOR

- The set pressure is indi-
cated by a scale on the
pressure regulator (2).
Connect the hose to the air outlet tap, and then turn the
red knob (pull up to adjust and push down to lock) of
the regulator until the desired working pressure is rea-
ched.
After this operation is completed the compressor is
ready for use.
Ensure that all pressure is discharged from the
hose before removing the connections to avoid
a hose whipping problem, and potential personal injury.
TURNING THE COMPRESSOR OFF
- The compressor is equipped with an air pressure
switch (3) which automatically controls the starting
and stopping of the compressor electric motor. Never-
theless, to stop the compressor independently from
the air pressure switch use the general red switch (1)
to switch off the compressor.
- Disconnect the plug from the mains outlet socket,
ensuring the tap is closed and disconnect the hose
from the tap, then discharge the compressed air by
opening the drain valve (Fig. 3.1 - 5).
Never stop the compressor motor by unplug-
ging the unit from the mains supply always use
the on/off switch on the compressor.
MAINTENANCE - AIR FILTER
Remove the fairing screw (8) followed by the fairing which
is removed by pulling at the top, whilst releasing the clips
at each side of the bottom. The filter housing is a black
knob located at the top of the machine. To remove the fil-
ter, unscrew the filter housing unit (1 screw) and then pull
out the filter.
CONDENSATION BUILD-UP
Because of the rapid compression of the air inside the tank
condensation can occurr. To reduce the possibility of a
build up of water,
periodically drain the tank by loose-
ning the drain valve at the bottom of the tank (5). Ensure
that any pressure has been released from the tank by
fully opening the air tap outlet. Retighten the drain valve
before repressurising the compressor.
The electric motor is protected by a thermal cir-
cuit breaker that is activated in the unlikely event
of the motor overheating.
The activation of the thermal circuit breaker will cause
sudden stops or intermittent working. In this case, make
sure that:
a) The supply voltage corresponds to the one indicated
on the compressor.
b) The maximum calibration pressure of the pressure
regulator is less than or equal to 8.0 bar or 116 p.s.i.
The maximum working pressure of the nail gun, sup-
plied with the compressor, is 6.12 bar or 90 p.s.i. and
should not be exceeded.
c) No strange noise or vibration is noted when the com-
pressor is functioning.

Elektrische veiligheid
Controleer altijd of uw netspanning overeen-
komt met de waarde op het typeplaatje.
Controleer regelmatig alle elektrische aansluitingen en
de conditie van de bedrading op beschadigingen. Gevon-
den defecten dienen onmiddellijk te worden gerepareerd
voordat u de machine weer in gebruik neemt. Laat de
bedrading altijd door een gekwalificeerde elektromonteur
nakijken.
Tijdens het werken met het apparaat dient u alle kabels en
verlengkabels vrij te houden van snijdend gereedschap,
scherpe voorwerpen of andere gevaarlijke omstandighe-
den in de werkplaats, zoals natte vloeren of chemicaliën.
Dit apparaat dient met een zekering van 13A te worden
beveiligd.
Ter voorkoming van elektrische schokken dient dit appa-
raat niet aan regen of vocht te worden blootgesteld. In het
apparaat bevinden zich geen onderdelen die gerepa-
reerd kunnen worden. Laat eventuele reparaties altijd
door een gekwalificeerde monteur uitvoeren. Verwijder
nooit delen van de behuizing tenzij u ervoor gekwalifi-
ceerd bent. In dit apparaat komen gevaarlijke spanningen
voor.
Bij gebruik van verlengsnoeren
Gebruik uitsluitend een goedgekeurd verlengsnoer, dat
geschikt is voor het vermogen van de machine. De aders
moeten een doorsnede hebben van minimaal 1,5 mm
2
.
Wanneer het verlengsnoer op een haspel zit, rol het snoer
dan helemaal af.

5. NAIL GUN OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL
The nailing gun must be used with the air compressor and
hose supplied. The nailing gun is designed to fire 18
gauge brad nails from 15mm to 50mm long, into timber.
The maximum operating pressure of the nailing gun is
6.12 bar or 90 p.s.i. Use only Performance Power Brad
Nails with this gun. Always wear leather gloves and eye
protection when using this product.

OPERATION
Before each period
of use, insert seve-
ral drops of airline
lubricating oil, using
the oiler provided,
into the air intake
connector. The nail
gun must be regularly lubricated. Always use airline-lubri-
cating oil. Do not connect the airline until the nail gun is
loaded with nails. To load the nail gun with nails, press the
clasp (Figs. 5.1 & 5.2), and slide the magazine out.

Slowly open the air outlet tap and adjust the red outlet
pressure regulator, with the air compressor tank fully
charged.
TO USE THE NAIL GUN
Hold the Nail gun in one hand and keep the other hand well
away. Firstly push the nose of the nailer firmly onto the
tumbler at the point that is to be nailed. This will depress
the safety switch.

In deze gebruiksaanwijzing worden de volgende picto-
grammen gebruikt:
Duidt op mogelijk lichamelijk letsel, levensge-
vaar of kans op beschadiging van de machine
indien de instructies in deze gebruiksaanwij-
zing worden genegeerd.
Geeft elektrische spanning aan.
Lees deze gebruiksaanwijzing aandachtig door voor u de
machine in gebruik neemt. Zorg dat u kennis heeft van de
werking van de machine en op de hoogte bent van de
bediening. Onderhoud de machine volgens de instructies
opdat deze altijd goed functioneert. Bewaar deze
gebruiksaanwijzing en de bijgevoegde documentatie bij
de machine.
VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN
Neem bij het gebruik van elektrische machines altijd
de plaatselijk geldende veiligheidsvoorschriften in
acht in verband met brandgevaar, gevaar voor elektri-
sche schokken en lichamelijk letsel. Lees behalve
onderstaande instructies ook de veiligheidsvoor-
schriften in het apart bijgevoegde veiligheidskatern
door.
Bewaar de instructies zorgvuldig!
1. Persoonlijke veiligheid - draag geen losse kleding,
juwelen of andere zaken die in bewegende delen ver-
strikt zouden kunnen raken. Bind lang haar naar ach-
teren.
Draag bij voorkeur een veiligheidsbril (een normale
bril biedt onvoldoende bescherming).
Bij bovenhands werken of bij stofontwikkeling dient u
een stofmasker te dragen. Bij langdurig gebruik dient
u gehoorbescherming te gebruiken.
2. Schone werkomgeving - bij een rommelige werk-
ruimte of werkbank is de kans op verwondingen groot.
Houd de vloeren schoon en droog.
3. Gevaarlijke omgeving - gebruik uw tacker niet op
vochtige of natte plaatsen.
4. Gebruik altijd het juiste elektrische gereedschap - pro-
beer de tacker niet voor andere doeleneinden te
gebruiken dan waar hij voor gemaakt is. De tacker
werkt veel effectiever als u niet te veel kracht gebruikt.
5. Bescherming tegen elektrische schokken - vermijd
contact met geaarde oppervlakken (zoals radiatoren,
pijpen, vaatwassers, koelkasten, enz.). Raak tijdens
het spijkeren in wanden geen metalen delen van de
tacker aan.
6. Algemene veiligheid – bevestig uw werkstuk in een
klem, reik niet te ver en stop met werken als u ver-
moeid bent.
7. Controle voor gebruik - let erop dat de schakelaar in de
uitstand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact
steekt. Let er altijd op dat de tacker niet beschadigd is
voordat u hem aanzet. Beschadigde delen dienen op
correcte wijze te worden gerepareerd of vervangen.
8. Haal de stekker van de compressor altijd uit het stop-
contact als u er niet mee werkt of als u onderdelen of

contact als u de tacker onbeheerd achterlaat.
9. Bescherm de kabel - til de compressor nooit op aan de
kabel, en trek nooit aan de kabel om de stekker uit het
stopcontact te halen. Voorkom dat de kabel in aanra-
king kan komen met scherpe voorwerpen, hitte of olie.
Laat de kabel vervangen als deze beschadigd is.
10. Onderhoud de tacker - houd hem schoon en in goede
conditie voor optimaal en veilig gebruik. Werk bij het
vervangen van onderdelen altijd volgens de instruc-
ties.
11. Let op kinderen en huisdieren - kinderen en huisdie-
ren dienen op een veilige afstand van de werkplek te
worden gehouden.
Alle gereedschappen dienen buiten bereik van kinde-
ren gehouden te worden en op een veilige plek opge-
borgen te worden.
12. Deze apparatuur mag niet in explosieve omgevingen
worden gebruikt.
13. Probeer niet met de tacker op een ladder te werken.
SPECIFIEKE VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES
Houd u zich strikt aan de volgende veiligheidsmaatrege-
len:
1) Trek bij alle afstelwerkzaamheden aan de machine de
stekker uit het stopcontact.
2) Voer geen elektrische of mechanische wijzigingen
aan het product uit. Neem bij problemen onmiddellijk
contact op met de leverancier.
3) Sproei niet met de luchtleiding of een sproeier of ander
opzetstuk naar open vuur of warmtebronnen.
4) Laat de machine niet langdurig in de zon staan om
oververhitting van kunststof delen te voorkomen.

MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the machine is not live when car-
rying out maintenance work on the motor.
The Ferm machines have been designed to operate over
a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper
machine care and regular cleaning.
Cleaning
Keep the ventilation slots of the machine clean to prevent
overheating of the motor.
Regularly clean the machine housing with a soft cloth,
preferably after each use. Keep the ventilation slots free
from dust and dirt.
If the dirt does not come off use a soft cloth moistened with
soapy water. Never use solvents such as petrol, alcohol,
ammonia water, etc. These solvents may damage the
plastic parts.
Lubrication
The machine requires no additional lubrication.
Faults
Should a fault occur, e.g. after wear of a part, please con-
tact your local Ferm dealer.
ENVIRONMENT
In order to prevent the machine from damage during
transport, it is delivered in a sturdy packaging. Most of the
packaging materials can be recycled. Take these materi-
als to the appropriate recycling locations.
Take your unwanted machines to your local Ferm-dealer.
Here they will be disposed of in an environmentally safe
way.
NiCd cells are recyclable. Take them to your local Ferm-
dealer or a local recycling station. The collected battery
packs will be recycled or disposed of in an environmen-
tally safe way.
GUARANTEE
The guarantee conditions can be found on the separately
enclosed guarantee card.
