EN Introduction
The i-box Melody compact portable radio receives a wide range of DAB/DAB+
and FM stations. Up to 30 DAB and 30 FM stations can be stored as presets and
3 of each can be played instantly by pressing the Preset keys.
A large full colour TFT display makes tuning and setting the dual alarms easy
and also displays any programme information available. The built in lithium
rechargeable battery makes the Melody perfect for use anywhere indoors or out
and supports up to 8 hours of independent playback at 60% volume.

Caring for your
Melody Radio
Important - Please read these instructions fully before installing or operating your radio.
Do not expose to dripping or splashed fluids. Objects filled with liquids, such as vases,
must not be placed close to the radio.
Keep away from flame sources such as lighted candles.
The unit should not be exposed to direct sunlight, very high or low temperatures,
moisture, vibrations, strong magnetic fields, high frequencies and dusty environments.
Never attempt to insert wires, pins or such objects into the vents or openings of the unit.
Do not disassemble or modify the radio, there are no user serviceable parts.
If the radio is damaged in anyway or malfunctions do not use. Consult a qualified service
engineer.
Do not use abrasives or other solvents to clean the surface of the unit. To clean, wipe
with a clean soft cloth and a mild detergent solution.
Do not dispose of this product with household waste at the end of its life cycle; hand it
over to a collection centre for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances with

Getting started
When the Melody is first powered it will automatically
search for DAB radio stations, create a “Station list”
and set the time and date. To ensure a comprehensive
list of available stations extend the aerial fully before
powering up your Melody for the first time.
Powering and Charging
To power the radio or charge the built in
battery; connect a Micro-USB cable to
5V𝌂1A supply.
Setting the clock automatically
In standby mode press the Standby key 7 once to
enter DAB mode, your Melody will autoscan for DAB
stations and the time and date will
be set automatically.
Make sure the aerial is fully extended for best results.
Navigating menus and sub menus
Long press MENU 10 then / 8/9 to scroll
through the menu/sub menu options. Press the Select
key 3 to select an option or enter a sub menu.
Standby / ON/OFF
Press the Standby key 7 to switch on your Melody in
the mode last used. Press the Standby key 7 again
to return to Standby.
To change the operating language
The default operating language is English, to change it
enter the System menu scroll to <Language>.

Selecting the mode

1.1 DAB Full scan:

4. AUX In
To use your Melody as a speaker for another device,
connect that device (e.g. mobile phone) to the Melody
via an audio lead to the Melody’s 3.5mm AUX socket.
Then use the mode key
7 to select AUX as the input.
Adjust the volume on the source device before adjusting
on the Melody for optimal performance.

6. Bluetooth Mode
1. Use
the MODE key 6
to select Bluetooth an audio
tone will sound to indicate the Melody is ready to
connect, make sure your device is in Bluetooth mode.
The Melody will search for the last connected device.
2. If the last connected device is not available. The
Melody will search for other devices and will appear in
your device’s Bluetooth menu as “i-box Melody”.
3. Select the Melody and a “Connected” message will
appear in the display and you will hear a second audio
tone when connection is successful.

Erste Schritte
Beim ersten Einschalten des Melody werden ein
automatischer Suchlauf nach DAB-Sendern durchgeführt,
eine Senderliste erstellt und Datum und Zeit eingestellt.
Um sicherzustellen, dass Sie eine umfassende Liste der
verfügbaren Sender erhalten, ziehen Sie die Antenne
vollständig aus, bevor Sie Ihren Melody erstmals einschalten.
Stromversorgung und
Aufladen

Standby / Ein/Aus
Drücken Sie auf die Standby-Taste 7, um Ihren
Melody im zuletzt verwendeten Modus einzuschalten.
Drücken Sie noch einmal auf di Standby-Taste 7,
um in den Standby-Modus zurückzukehren.
Betriebssprache ändern
Die Standardbetriebssprache ist Englisch. Um sie zu
ändern, öffnen Sie das Systemmenü und suchen nach
der Option <Language>.

1.2. DAB-Senderliste:
Das LCD-Display zeigt den langen Namen des
eingestellten Senders und Programminformationen an.
Mit den Tasten Zurück/Weiter /
8/9 können
Sie die Liste der beim Suchlauf gefundenen Sender
durchsehen. Hier wird der Kurzname angezeigt. Drücken
Sie die Auswahltaste 3, um sich den angezeigten
Sender anzuhören.
Modus wählen
Betätigen Sie mehrmals die Modus-Wahltaste 7, um
zwischen den Modi umzuschalten.
1.1 Vollständiger DAB-Suchlauf:
Drücken Sie lange auf MENU 10, und starten Sie dann
mit den Tasten Zurück/Weiter /
8/9 einen
Suchlauf. Drücken Sie kurz auf die Auswahltaste 3, um
eine vollständige Suche nach verfügbaren Radiosendern
durchzuführen.

1.6. Löschen:

Ne pas exposer à des gouttes ou des éclaboussures de liquides. Les objets remplis de

hautes fréquences et aux environnements poussiéreux.

Prise en main
Lors de la première mise sous tension, l’appareil Melody
cherche automatiquement les stations de radio DAB,
crée une « Liste de stations » et règle l’heure et la
date. Afin d’obtenir une liste complète des stations
disponibles, dépliez complètement l’antenne avant la
première mise sous tension de votre l’appareil Melody.
Branchement et recharge
Pour brancher la radio sur le secteur
ou recharger la batterie intégrée,
connectez un câble micro-USB à une
alimentation de 5V𝌂1A.
Réglage automatique de l’heure
En mode veille, appuyez sur la touche veille 7 une
fois pour activer le mode DAB, votre Melody effectuera
un scan automatique pour trouver les stations DAB et
l’heure et la date se mettront à jour automatiquement.
Assurez-vous de déplier complètement l’antenne pour
obtenir de meilleurs résultats.
Navigation dans les menus et sous-menus
Appuyez longuement sur MENU 10 puis / 8
/9 pour faire défiler les options de menu/sous-
menu. Appuyez sur la touche Sélectionner 3 pour
sélectionner une option ou accéder à un sous-menu.
Veille / ON / OFF
Appuyez sur la touche Veille 7 pour allumer votre
appareil Melody avec le dernier mode utilisé. Appuyez
de nouveau sur la touche Veille 7 pour revenir en
mode veille.
Pour modifier la langue utilisée
La langue opérationnelle par défaut est l’anglais. Pour
changer, allez sur <Langue> dans le menu déroulant du
système.

Pour utiliser votre Melody en tant que haut-parleur pour
un autre appareil, connectez cet appareil (par exemple
un téléphone portable) au Melody grâce à un câble
audio branché sur la prise AUX 3,5 mm du Melody. Puis
utilisez le bouton Mode

qu’entrée. Ajustez le volume de l’appareil source avant de
l’ajuster sur le Melody pour une performance optimale.

6. Mode Bluetooth
1. Utilisez la touche MODE

mode Bluetooth. Vous allez entendre un son qui
vous indiquera que l’appareil Melody est prêt à se
connecter. Assurez-vous que votre dispositif est en
mode Bluetooth. L’appareil Melody cherche le dernier
dispositif connecté.
2. Si le dernier dispositif connecté n’est pas disponible.
L’appareil Melody cherche d’autres dispositifs et
apparaît dans le menu Bluetooth de votre dispositif
sous la forme « i-box Melody ».
3. Sélectionnez l’appareil Melody pour qu’un message
« Connecté » apparaisse à l’écran. Le succès de la
connexion est également signalé par un son.

Problem Solutions
La réception
radio est
mauvaise
Réglez l’antenne en la changeant de direction pour améliorer le signal.
Rapprochez la radio d’une fenêtre.
Vérifiez que la radio ne se trouve pas à proximité d’un micro-onde,
de lampes fluorescentes ou d’autres équipements susceptibles de
causer des interférences.
Aucun son Assurez-vous que le volume n’est pas réglé au minimum. Augmentez
le volume.
Vérifiez que la radio est bien allumée.
Essayez de capter une autre station de radio.
La radio ne
s’allume pas
La batterie est déchargée et la radio est mal branchée à la prise USB.

Guida introduttiva
Alla prima accensione Melody esegue automaticamente
la ricerca delle stazioni radio DAB, crea una “Lista delle
stazioni” e imposta la data e l’ora. Per ottenere una
lista il più possibile completa delle stazioni disponibili,
estendere completamente l’antenna prima di accendere
Melody per la prima volta.
Alimentazione e carica
Per alimentare la radio o caricare
la batteria integrata, collegare un
cavo Micro-USB a una fonte di
alimentazione da 5V𝌂1A.
Impostazione automatica dell’orologio
In modalità Standby, premere una volta il tasto Standby
7 per accedere alla modalità DAB. Melody eseguirà
una scansione delle stazioni DAB e imposterà la data e
l’ora automaticamente. Per garantire il funzionamento
ottimale, verificare che l’antenna sia completamente
estesa.
Navigazione tra menu e sottomenu
Premere a lungo MENU 10, quindi / 8/9 per
scorrere le opzioni del menu/sottomenu. Premere
il tasto Seleziona 3 per selezionare un’opzione o
accedere a un sottomenu.
Standby/Accensione/Spegnimento
Premere il tasto Standby 7 per impostare
la modalità utilizzata per ultima sul dispositivo
Melody. Per tornare alla modalità Standby, premere
nuovamente il tasto Standby 7 .
Modifica della lingua operativa
La lingua operativa predefinita è la lingua inglese.
Per modificarla, fare scorrere il menu fino all’opzione
<Lingua>.

Zorgen voor uw Melody Radio
Belangrijk - Lees deze instructies volledig door voordat u uw radio installeert of bedient.
Niet blootstellen aan druipende of opspattende vloeistoffen. Met vloeistof gevulde
voorwerpen, zoals vazen, mogen niet in de buurt van de radio worden geplaatst.
Verwijderd houden van vlambronnen zoals brandende kaarsen.
Het apparaat mag niet worden blootgesteld aan direct zonlicht, zeer hoge of lage
temperaturen, vocht, trillingen, sterke magnetische velden, hoge frequenties en stoffige
omgevingen.
Probeer nooit draden, pinnen of dergelijke voorwerpen in de ventilatieopeningen of
openingen van het apparaat te steken.

Aan de slag
Wanneer de Melody voor het eerst van stroom wordt
voorzien, zoekt hij automatisch naar DAB-radiostations,
maakt hij een stationslijst aan en stelt de tijd en datum
in. Om voor een uitgebreide lijst van beschikbare
stations te zorgen, trekt u de antenne volledig uit voor u
de Melody voor het eerst van stroom voorziet.

U kunt de radio van stroom voorzien of
de ingebouwde batterij opladen door
een micro-USB-kabel aan te sluiten op
de voeding van 5V𝌂1A.

Druk in de stand-bymodus één keer op de

om over te schakelen naar de DAB-modus. De
Melody gaat nu automatisch DAB-stations zoeken en
stelt ook automatisch de datum en tijd in. Trek voor het

6. Bluetooth-modus
1. Gebruik de modustoets (6) om de Bluetooth-modus
te selecteren. Er klinkt een toon om aan te geven
dat de Melody klaar is om verbinding te maken. Zorg
ervoor dat uw apparaat in de Bluetooth-modus staat.
De Melody zoekt naar het laatst verbonden apparaat.
2. Als het laatst verbonden apparaat niet beschikbaar
is. De Melody zoekt naar andere apparaten en zal
als “i-box Melody” in het Bluetooth-menu van uw
apparaat verschijnen.
3. Selecteer de Melody. Als de verbinding is gelukt,
verschijnt het bericht “Verbonden” op het scherm en
hoort u een toon.
