Geachte klant,

Lees eerst aandachtig de gebruiksaanwijzing door voordat u uw nieuwe

koelapparaat in gebruik neemt. Hierin staat belangrijke informatie over een

veilig gebruik, over het opstellen en over het onderhoud van het apparaat.

De gebruiksaanwijzing s.v.p. bewaren om lager nog eens iets na te kunnen

lezen.. Aan eventuele volgende bezitters van het apparaat doorgeven.

Deze gebruiksaanwijzing is voor meerdere, technisch vergelijkbare modellen

in diverse uitvoeringen bestemd. S.v.p. alleen op de aanwijzingen letten die

op uw apparaat betrekking hebben.

Met de waarschuwingsdriehoek en/of door signaalwoorden (Waar-

schuwing!, Voorzichtig!, Let op!) wordt de aandacht gevestigd op aanwij-

zingen die belangrijk zijn voor uw veiligheid of voor het juist functioneren

van het apparaat. Hier absoluut op letten.

Na dit symbool wordt uitleg gegeven over de bediening en het praktisch

gebruik van het apparaat.

Met het klaverblad worden tips en aanwijzingen voor een economischen

milieuvriendelijk gebruik van het apparaat aangegeven.

Voor eventueel optredende storingen staan in de handleiding aanwijzingen

om deze zelf op te lossen, zie Hoofdstuk "Wat te doen als...". Als deze aanwij-

zingen niet voldoende informatie bieden staat onze service-afdeling u te

allen tijde ter beschikking.

Veiligheid

De veiligheid van onze koelapparaten voldoet aan de Europese en Neder-

landse normen. Desondanks zien wij ons genoodzaakt u met de volgende

veiligheidsaanwijzingen vertrouwd te maken:

Reglementaire toepassing

• Het koelapparaat is voor huishoudelijk gebruik bestemd. Het is geschikt

voor het koelen, invriezen en diepgevroren bewaren van levensmiddelen

en voor het maken van ijs. Als het apparaat voor andere doeleinden

gebruikt wordt kan de fabrikant geen verantwoording nemen voor even-

tuele schaden.

• Het ombouwen van of veranderingen aan het koelapparaat aanbrengen

is uit veiligheidsoverwegingen niet toegestaan.

• Als het koelapparaat commercieel of voor andere doeleinden dan voor het

koelen, diepgevroren bewaren en invriezen van levensmiddelen gebruikt

wordt, s.v.p. letten op de hiervoor van kracht zijnde wettelijke bepalingen.

Voordat het apparaat voor de eerste keer in gebruik

genomen wordt

• Controleer het koelapparaat op transportschaden. Een beschadigd appa-

raat in geen geval aansluiten! Wend u in geval van schade tot de leve-

rancier.

Koelmiddelen

Het apparaat bevat in het koelvloeistofcircuit de koelvloeistof Isobutan

(R600a), een natuurlijk, zeer milieuvriendelijk gas, dat echter wel brandbaar is.

• Bij het transport en het opstellen van het apparaat erop letten dat geen

onderdelen van het koelvloeistofcircuit beschadigd worden.

• Bij beschadiging van het koelvloeistofcircuit:

– open vuur en brandhaarden absoluut vermijden;

– het vertrek waar het apparaat staat goed ventileren.

Veiligheid van kinderen

• Verpakkingsdelen (bijv. folies, piepschuim) kunnen voor kinderen gevaar-

lijk zijn. Verstikkingsgevaar! Verpakkingsmateriaal van kinderen weghou-

den!

• Oude apparaten voor het weggooien onbruikbaar maken. Stekker uit het

stopcontact trekken, stroomkabel doorknippen, eventueel aanwezige

snap– of grendelsloten verwijderen of kapotmaken. Daardoor wordt

voorkomen dat spelende kinderen in het apparaat opgesloten raken (ver-

stikkingsgevaar!) of in andere levensgevaarlijke situaties terecht komen.

Regulations, Standards, Guidelines

This appliance was designed for household use and was manufactured in

accordance with the appropriate standards. The necessary measures in

accordance with appliance safety legislation regulations (GSG), accident

prevention regulations for refrigeration appliances (VBG 20) and the regu-

lations of the German Society of Electrical Engineers (VDE) were observed in

the manufacture of this appliance.

The refrigerant circuit has been checked for leaks.

This appliance is in accordance with the following EU guidelines:

– 73/23/EWG dated 19 February 1973 - low voltage guidelines.

– 89/336/EWG dated 3 May 1989

(including guideline change notice 92/31/EWG) - EMV guideline

costs. For this reason always provide the following appliance information:

We recommend that you enter this information here, so that it is handy if

needed.

Note: The customer bears the costs of unjustified customer service calls

even during the guarantee period.

• Kinderen kunnen gevaren die in het omgaan met huishoudelijke appara-

ten schuilen vaak niet herkennen. Zorg daarom voor de nodige toezicht

en laat kinderen niet met het apparaat spelen.

Bij dagelijks gebruik

• Containers met brandbare gassen of vloeistoffen kunnen lek raken door

de inwerking van koude. Explosiegevaar! Leg geen containers met brand-

bare stoffen zoals bijv. spraybussen, aanstekers, navullingen van aan-

stekers etc. in het koelapparaat.

• Flessen en blikken mogen niet in het vriesvak. Ze kunnen springen als de

inhoud bevriest – bij koolzuurhoudende inhoud zelfs exploderen! Leg

nooit limonades, sappen, bier, wijn, champagne etc. in het vriesvak. Uit-

zondering: sterke drank met een zeer hoog alcoholpercentage kan in het

vriesvak gelegd worden.

• Consumptie-ijs en ijsblokjes niet direct vanuit de vriesruimte in de mond

steken. Zeer koud ijs kan aan de lippen of de tong vastvriezen en verwon-

dingen veroorzaken.

• Niet met natte handen aan diepvriesartikelen komen. De handen kunnen

daaraan vastvriezen.

• Geen elektrische apparaten (bijv. elektrische ijsmachines, mixers etc.) in het

koelapparaat gebruiken.

• Voor het schoonmaken het apparaat altijd uitzetten en de stekker uit het

stopcontact trekken of de zekering in de uitschakelen huisinstallatie.

• De stekker altijd aan de stekker zelf uit het stopcontact trekken, nooit aan

het snoer.

Bij storing

• Als er een storing aan het apparaat optreedt eerst in de gebruiksaanwij-

zing kijken onder “Wat te doen als ...”. Als de daar gegeven aanwijzingen

niet verder helpen zelf niet verder aan het apparaat werken.

• Koelapparaten mogen alleen dooor geschoold personeel gerepareerd wor-

den. Door ondeskundige reparaties kunnen grote gevaren ontstaan. Wend

u zich bij reparaties tot uw vakhandel of tot onze service-afdeling.

Weggooien

Informatie over de verpakking van het apparaat

Alle gebruikte grondstoffen zijn milieuvriendelijk! Ze kunnen zonder gevaar

weggegooid of in de vuilverbrandingsoven verbrand worden!

De grondstoffen: de kunststoffen kunnen ook opnieuw gebruikt worden en

worden als volgt gekarakteriseerd:

>PE< voor polyethyleen, bijv. bij de buitenste verpakking en de zakken bin-

nenin.

>PS< voor schuimpolystyrol, bijv. bij de bekledingsdelen, in principe CFK-vrij.

Unusual noises.

Changing the light bulb

Warning! There is a risk of electric shocks! Before changing the light bulb,

switch off the appliance and unplug it, or pull the fuse or the circuit breaker.

Light bulb data: 220-240 V

1. To switch off the appliance, press the

ON/OFF button.

2. Unplug the mains plug.

3. To change the light bulb press on the

rear hook and at the same time slide

the cover in the direction indicated

by the arrow.

4. Change the defective light bulb with

one of the some power (the maxi-

mum power is shown on the light

diffuser).

5. Refit the light bulb cover.

6. Put the refrigerator back into opera-

tion.

Transportbescherming verwijderen

Het apparaat alsmede de onderdelen van het interieur zijn voor het tran-

sport beschermd.

• Alle plakband alsmede bekledingsdelen uit het interieur verwijderen.

Uw apparatuur is voorzien van

blokkeringen, waardoor de platen tij-

dens het transport op hun plaats blij-

ven.

Handel als volgt om deze te verwij-

deren:

Beweeg de blokkeringen in de rich-

ting van de pijl, til de glasplaat aan

de achterkant op en duw deze in de

richting van de pijl tot deze los raakt

en verwijder de blokkeringen.

De kartonnen delen zijn van oud papier gemaakt en kunnen ook weer bij

het oudpapier gedaan worden.

Weggooien van oude apparaten

Wegens milieuredenen dienen koelapparaten vakkundig ontmanteld te

worden. Dit geldt voor uw huidige apparaat en - als het ook aan vervanging

toe is - ook voor uw nieuwe apparaat.

Waarschuwing! Apparaten die hun tijd gehad hebben onbruikbaar maken

voordat ze weggegooid worden. Stekker er afhalen, netsnoer doorknippen,

eventuele snap- of grendelsloten verwijderen of kapotmaken. Hierdoor

wordt voorkomen dat spelende kinderen in het apparaat opgesloten worden

(verstikkingsgevaar!) of in andere levensgevaarlijke situaties terechtkomen.

Aanwijzingen voor het weggooien:

• Het apparaat mag niet bij het huis- of grofvuil gezet worden.

• Het koelvloeistofcircuit, in het bijzonder de warmtewisselaar aan de ach-

terkant, mag niet beschadigd worden.

• Het symbool op het product of op de verpakking wijst erop dat dit

product niet als huishoudafval mag worden behandeld. Het moet echter

naar een plaats worden gebracht waar elektrische en elektronische appa-

ratuur wordt gerecycled. Als u ervoor zorgt dat dit product op de correc-

te manier wordt verwijderd, voorkomt u mogelijk voor mens en milieu

negatieve gevolgen die zich zouden kunnen voordoen in geval van

verkeerde afvalbehandeling. Voor meer details in verband met het recy-

clen van dit product, neemt u het best contact op met de gemeentelijke

instanties, het bedrijf of de dienst belast met de verwijdering van hui-

shoudafval of de winkel waar u het product hebt gekocht.

What to do if ...

Correcting Malfunctions

A malfunction may be caused by only a minor fault that you can rectify

yourself using the following instructions. Do not perform any other work on

the appliance if the following information does not provide assistance in

your specific case.

Warning! Repairs to refrigerators/freezers may only be performed by

qualified service engineers. Improper repairs can give rise to significant

hazards for the user. If your appliance needs repairing, please contact your

specialist dealer or our Customer Service.

Heavy build up of frost, possi-

bly also on the door seal.

Door seal is not air tight (pos-

sibly after changing over the

hinges).

Carefully warm the leaking

sections of the door seal with

a hair dryer (not hotter than

approx. 50 °C). At the same

time shape the warmed door

seal by hand such that it sits

correctly.

Opstellen

Opstelplaats

Het apparaat in een goed geventileerde en droge ruimte neerzetten.

De omgevingstemperatuur heeft invloed op het stroomverbruik.

Het apparaat daarom

– niet aan directe straling van de zon blootstellen;

– niet bij radiatoren, naast een kachel of andere warmtebronnen plaatsen;

– alleen op een plaats neerzetten waarvan de omgevingstemperatuur over-

eenkomt met de klimaatklasse waarvoor het apparaat is ontworpen.

De klimaatklassees staan op het typeplaatje dat zich links aan de binnenkant

van het apparaat bevindt.

De volgende tabel geeft aan welke omgevingstemperatuur bij welke kli-

maatklasse behoort:

Als het onvermijdelijk is het apparaat naast een warmtebron te plaat-sen,

aan weerszijden minimaal de volgende afstanden aanhouden:

– tot elektrische fornuizen 3 cm;

– tot olie- en kolenfornuizen 30 cm.

Als men zich niet aan deze afstanden kan houden, is een warmte-isoleren-

deplaat tussen fornuis en koelapparaat aan te bevelen.

Als het koelapparaat naast een ander koel- of diepvriesapparaat staat, is een

afstand van 5 cm aan weerszijden aan te bevelen, zodat zich geen condens

vormt aan de buitenkant van de apparaten.

4. Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm

water. Commercially available dish washing detergents may also be used.

5. After cleaning wipe with fresh water and rub dry.

Accumulation of dust at the condenser increases energy consumption. For

this reason carefully clean the condenser at the back of the appliance once

a year with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.

6. Check the water drain hole on

the rear wall of the fridge. Clear a

blocked drain hole with the aid of

the green peg in the pack of

accessories included with the

appliance.

7. After everything is dry place

appliance back into service.

Energy Saving Tips

• Do not install the appliance near cookers, radiators or other sources of

warmth. High ambient temperatures cause longer, more frequent opera-

tion of the compressor.

• Ensure sufficient air circulation and exhaust at the appliance base

and at the back wall of the appliance. Never cover air vent openings.

• Do not place warm foods into the appliance. Allow warm foods to cool

first.

• Only leave door open as long as necessary.

• Do not set temperature any colder than necessary.

• Put frozen food in the fridge to defrost. The cold in the frozen food will

then be used to cool the fridge.

• Keep the heat emitting condenser, the metall grille on the rear wall of

your appliance, always clean.

Draai de schroeven los steek de

afstandhouder onder de schroefkop

Cleaning and Care

For hygienic reasons the appliance interior, including interior accessories,

should be cleaned regularly.

Warning!

• The appliance may not be connected to the mains during cleaning. Dan-

ger of electrical shock! Before cleaning switch the appliance offand rem

ve the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker

or fuse.

• Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. Moisture could accumu-

late in electrical components, danger of electrical shock! Hot vapours can

lead to the damage of plastic parts.

• The appliance must be dry before it is placed back into service.

Attention!

• Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g.

– lemon juice or the juice from orange peals;

– butyric acid;

– cleansers which contain acetic acid.

Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.

• Do not use any abrasive cleansers.

1. Remove frozen food and the food from the refrigerator. Wrap frozen

food in several layers of newspaper. Store it in a cool place, well covered.

2. Defrost the freezer compartment prior to cleaning (see "Defrosting" sec-

tion).

3. Switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off

or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.

Voor ingebruikname

• Het interieur van het apparaat en alle accessoires schoonmaken voor het

eerste gebruik (zie Hoofdstuk “Reiniging en onderhoud”).

Elektrische aansluiting

Voor de elektrische aansluiting is een volgens de voorschriften geïnstalleerde

contactdoos met randaarde vereist. De contactdoos moet zodanig worden

geïnstalleerd, dat de stekker altijd uit de contactdoos kan worden getrokken.

De elektrische zekering dient minstens 10 Ampère te zijn.

Indien het stopcontact bij een ingebouwd apparaat niet meer toegankelijk

is, dient een maatregel in de elektrische installatie er voor te zorgen dat het

apparaat van de stroom kan worden afgesloten (bijv. zekering, beveiligings-

schakelaar, aardlekschakelaar of dergelijke met een contactopeningsbreed-

te van minimaal 3 mm).

• Voor ingebruikneming op het typeplaatje van het apparaat controleren of

de netspanning en stroomsoort overeenkomen met de waarden van het

lichtnet op de plaats waar het apparaat komt te staan.

Bijv.: AC 230 ... 240 V 50 Hz of

230 ... 240 V~ 50 Hz

(d.w.z. 220 tot 230 Volt wisselstroom, 50 Hertz)

Het typeplaatje bevindt zich links aan de binnenkant van het apparaat.

Defrosting

Refrigerator

Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigerator

compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use.

The defrost water drains out through a trough into a special container at

the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor, where it evaporates.

Freezer

The freezer compartment, however, will become progrssively covered with

frost. This should be removed with the special plastic scraper provided, whe-

never the tickness of the frost exceeds 4 mm. During this operation it is not

necessary to switch off the power supply or to remove the foodstuffs.

However when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner, complete

defrosting should be carried out as follows:

1. Remove the frozen food from the

freezer, wrap it in several layers of

newspaper and put it in a very

cool place.

2. Switch off the appliance and pull

out the plug, or remove or

unscrew the safety fuses.

3. Leave the freezer compartment

door open.

4. Insert the plastic scraper into the

recess provided under the defrost

water channel and place a collec-

ting basin under it.

5. Once defrosting is completed keep the scraper for future use;

6. Turn the thermostat knob to the required setting or replace the plug in the

power socket.

Warning!

Never use metal tools to scrape off the frost

Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the

thawing process other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

A temperature rise of the frozen food packs, during defrosting , may shor-

ten their safe storage life.

Toetsen voor temperatuurinstelling

De temperatuur wordt ingesteld via de

toetsen „+“ (WARMER) en „-“ (WARMER) .

De toetsen staan in verbinding met de temperatuurindicatie.

• Door te drukken op één van de twee toetsen „+“ (WARMER) of „-“ (WAR-

MER) wordt de temperatuurindicatie van de WERKELIJKE temperatuur

(temperatuurindicatie brandt) op de GEWENSTE temperatuur (temperatuu-

rindicatie knippert) omgeschakeld.

• Met elke verdere druk op één van beide toetsen wordt de GEWENSTE tem-

peratuur 1 °C verder gesteld.

• Als geen toets wordt ingedrukt, schakelt de temperatuurindicatie na

Preparation of Ice Cubes

1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water, place it in the freezer com-

partment and leave to freeze.

2. To loosen the frozen cubes, either bend the ice cube tray or hold it under

running water for a few seconds.

Important! Never try to free an ice tray that is frozen to the freezer com-

partment using pointed or sharp edged objects. Use the ice scraper supplied.

Freezing Calendar

• The symbols on the drawers show different types of frozen goods.

• The numbers indicate storage times in months for the appropriate types

of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indicated sto-

rage time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pre-treating

before freezing. The lower value applies to foods with high fat content.

Ice pack

There are two ice packs in one drawer of the freezer.

In the event of a power failure or malfunction, the ice packs will lengthen

the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to become too warm by

several hours. The ice packs can only fulfil this task optimally if it is placed

in the uppermost drawer, at the front, above the frozen food. You can use

the ice packs for cooling cold bags.

Bij een ingeschakelde COOLMATIC- of FROSTMATIC-functie kan er geen wij-

ziging van de temperatuurinstelling voor de koel- of vriesruimte worden

uitgevoerd.

Temperatuurindicatie

De temperatuurindicatie kan meerdere soorten informatie aangeven.

• Bij de normale werking wordt in het koelgedeelte de gemiddelde tempe-

ratuur aangegeven (WERKELIJKE temperatuur). De temperatuurfluctuaties

in de totale koelruimte zijn gering.

• In de vriesruimte wordt de warmste temperatuur aangegeven (WERKE-

LIJKE-temperatuur). Bij een volledige belading bevindt de warmste zone

zich in het algemeen in het bovenste deel, aan de voorkant, van het vrie-

sgedeelte. Afhankelijk van de belading zijn de temperaturen in andere delen

van de vriesruimte lager.

• Tijdens de temperatuurinstelling wordt de op dat moment ingestelde tem-

peratuur van de koel- en vriesruimte knipperend aangegeven (GEWENSTE-

temperatuur).

Informatie: Bij een verandering van vooringestelde temperatuur ca. 24 uur

wachten tot de temperatuurindicatie gestabiliseerd is.

• Bij een temperatuurwaarschuwing geeft de temperatuurindicatie bij het

indrukken van de RESET-toets gedurende 5 seconden de hoogste tempera-

tuur aan die de diepvriesproducten hebben bereikt.

• Als er sprake is van een storing aan het apparaat, verschijnt in de tempe-

ratuurindicatie:

– voor een storing in de koelruimte een vierkant of een letter in de tempe-

ratuurindicatie voor de koelruimte;

– voor een storing in de vriesruimte een vierkant of een letter in de tempe-

ratuurindicatie voor de vriesruimte.

Freezing and storing frozen food

You can use your freezer for freezing fresh food yourself.

Important!

• The temperature in the freezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder

before freezing food.

• Please observe the freezing capacity given on the rating plate. The free-

zing capacity is the maximum quantity of fresh food that can be frozen

within a period of 24 hours. If you wish to freeze food several days in a

row, please observe a maximum capacity of only 2/3 to 3/4 of that on the

rating plate. The quality of the food is best preserved when it is frozen

right through to the core as quickly as possible.

• Allow warm food to cool down before freezing. The warmth will cause

increased ice formation and increase the power consumption.

• Please note the maximum storage times specified by the manufacturer.

• Thawed foods which have not been processed further (cooked into meals)

may not under any circumstances be frozen a second time.

• Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures.

There is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any containers with flamma-

ble materials such as, for example, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill car-

tridges etc in the refrigerator/freezer.

• Bottles and cans must not be placed in the freezer. They can burst when

the contents freeze, high carbonate content drinks can even explode!

Never store lemonade, juices, beer, wine, sparkling wine etc. in the free-

zer. Exception: high alcohol content spirits can be stored in the freezer.

• All foods must be packed air tight prior to freezing, so that they do not

dry out or lose their flavour, and so that no flavour contamination of

other frozen goods occurs.

Caution! Do not touch frozen food with wet hands. Your hands could free-

ze to the food.

1. To achieve faster freezing of food or to freeze the maximum allowed quan-

tity, depress the ambient switch 12 hours before loading the food without

modifying the thermostat setting.

2. Place the food to be frozen in the top drawer.

3. Not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than absolutely neces-

sary.

MODE-toets

Met de MODE-toets kunnen verschillende standen worden ingesteld.

De volgende standen kunnen worden gekozen:

– SHOPPING: Koelruimtetemperatuur - standaard 3 °C gedurende 6 uur,

koeling voor de diepvriesruimte loopt ononderbroken gedurende 1 uur.

– FROSTMATIC: De koeling voor de diepvriesruimte loopt gedurende 52 uur

ononderbroken.

– COOLMATIC: koelruimtetemperatuur - standaard 3 °C gedurende 6 uur.

– FROSTMATIC en COOLMATIC: De koeling voor de diepvriesruimte loopt

52 uur ononderbroken, de koelruimtetemperatuur - standaard 3 °C gedu-

rende 6 uur.

– HOLIDAY: Koelruimtetemperatuur -standaard 14 °C. – : Volgens norma-

le werking ingestelde normtemperaturen.

1. MODE-toets 1x indrukken. In het display wordt de stand SHOPPING knip-

perend aangegeven.

2. Na ca. 4 seconden stopt de indicatie met knipperen, de stand SHOPPING

is ingesteld.

3. Als een andere stand ingesteld moet worden, moet voor het aflopen

steeds 4 seconden de MODE-toets zo vaak worden ingedrukt, tot de gewen-

ste stand in het display wordt aangegeven. Na ca. 4 seconden stopt de indi-

catie met knipperen, de stand is ingesteld. Als de MODE-toets opnieuw

wordt ingedrukt, verschijnt de volgende stand in de indicatie.

Om naar de normale stand terug te keren, zo vaak de MODE-toets

indrukken, tot in het display de woorden (“ “) niet meer verschijnen.

Tekstindicatie

In de tekstindicatie verschijnen de begrippen voor de verschillende met de

MODE-toetsen instelbare standen zoals Alarm, Stroomuitval of Functiesto-

ring.

• Standen: SHOPPING, FROSTMATIC, COOLMATIC, FROSTMATIC and COOL-

MATIC, HOLIDAY, leeg veld bij standaard werking.

• Alarm: TEMPERATURE bij een temperatuuralarm

• Na stroomuitval: Indicatie POWER

• Functiestoring: Indicatie SERVICE

Fresh food refrigeration

To obtain the best performance:

• do not store warm food or evaporating liquide in the refrigeator

• do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour.

• Position food so that air can circuiate freely round it.

Useful hints:

Meat (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelf above

the vegetable drawer(s)For safety, store in this way only one or two days

at the most.

Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc: these should be covered and may be placed

on any shelf.

Fruit and vegetables: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the

special drawer(s) provided.

Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or

wapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos-

sible.

Milk bootles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle

rack on the door.

Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not packed, must not be kept in

the refrigerator.

RESET-toets

Met de toets WAARSCHUWING UIT kan het akoestische waarschuwingssi-

gnaal uitgeschakeld worden, bijv. de "Open Deur"-waarschuwing als gedu-

rende langere tijd diepvriesproducten in- of uitgeladen worden.

Bij een temperatuurwaarschuwing geeft de temperatuurindicatie bij het

indrukken van de RESET-toets gedurende 5 seconden de hoogste tempera-

tuur aan die de diepvriesproducten hebben bereikt.

Voor ingebruikneming

Laat het apparaat, voordat u het op het elektriciteitsnet aansluit en voor de

eerste ingebruikname, 30 minuten staan, als het rechtop vervo-erd is. Als

het liggend vervoerd is, moet het apparaat voor ingebruik-name eerst 4 uur

staan, zodat de olie naar de compressor kan terugstromen. Anders kan de

compressor beschadigd worden.

1. Het interieur van het apparaat en alle accessoires schoonmaken voor het

eerste gebruik (zie hoofdstuk “Reiniging en Onderhoud”).

2. Voordat het voor de eerste keer in gebruik wordt genomen dient het

apparaat aan de hand van hoofdstuk "Opstellen en Aansluiten" juist opge-

steld te worden. Let er in het bijzonder op dat de netspanning en netfre-

quentie met de gegevens van het apparaat overeenstemmen.

3. Pak de koude-accu van het apparaat.

4. Leg de koude-accu pas na het bereiken van de optimale bewaartempe-

ratuur van -18°C in een lade en laat hem dan bevriezen.

5. Leg dan na ca. 24 uur de koude-accu voor op de bovenste lade.

6. Vries een ontdooide koude-accu op dezelfde wijze weer in, bijv. na het

schoonmaken van het apparaat.

Ingebruikneming

1. Stekker in het stopcontact stoppen.

2. Toets AAN/UIT ingedrukt houden. De temperatuurindicatie en de achter-

grondverlichting branden, het apparaat start. Er klinkt een waarschuwings-

signaal, in de display verschijnt TEMPERATURE en een knipperend rode ach-

tergrondverlichting.

3. Waarschuwingssignaal en rode achtergrondverlichting met de toets

RESET uitschakelen. De indicatie TEMPERATURE dooft als de temperatuur in

het apparaat onder de waarschuwingstemperatuur is gedaald.

In de fabriek vooringestelde temperatuurinstelling: +5 °C voor de koelruim-

te, -18 °C voor de diepvriesruimte.

4. Gewenste temperatuur voor de koelruimte instellen (zie Hoofdstuk "Tem-

peratuur instellen").

Drawer

The drawer is suitable for storing

fruit and vegetables. There is a

separator inside the drawer that

can be placed in different posi-

tions to allow for the subdivision

best suited to personal needs.

There is a grille on the bottom of

the drawer to separate the fruit

and vegetables from any humidity

that may form on the bottom

surface.

To remove the drawer, use the side handles (as shown in the drawing).

All parts inside the drawer can be removed for cleaning purposes.

Bottle rack

Place bottles in the rack with the

bottleneck to the front.

Important: Only store unopened

bottles horizontally.

The bottle rack can be tilted for

storing opened bottles.

To do this pull the bottle rack

forward until it can be tilted

upwards, then slide the front

support into the next level up.

Pas diepvriesproducten in het apparaat doen als een temperatuur in de

diepvriesruimte van -18 °C is bereikt, resp. tot het rode waar-schuwing-

slampje uit is.

Temperatuur instellen

Met de betreffende toetsen voor temperatuurinstelling kunnen de gewen-

ste temperatuur in de koelruimte en in de diepvriesruimte apart van elkaar

ingesteld worden.

1. Druk op de toetsen „+“ (WARMER) of „-“ (KOUDER).

De temperatuurindicatie schakelt om en geeft knipperend de op dat

moment ingestelde GEWENSTE temperatuur aan.

2. Gewenste temperatuur door indrukken van de toetsen „+“ (WARMER) en

„-“ (KOUDER) instellen (zie hoofdstuk "Toetsen voor temperatuurin-stel-

ling").

De temperatuurindicatie geeft direct de gewijzigde instelling aan.

Met elke druk op de toets wordt de temperatuur 1 °C hoger ingesteld.

Instelbereik voor de vriesruimte: van -15 °C tot -24 °C.

Instelbereik voor de koelruimte: van +3 °C tot +8 °C, (vakantieschakeling:

14 °C).

Een bewaartemperatuur van ca. +5 °C in de koelruimte en -18 °C in de diep-

vriesruimte is in de regel koud genoeg.

3. Als na het instellen van de temperatuur de toetsen niet meer ingedrukt

worden, schakelt de temperatuurindicatie na korte tijd (ca. 5 sec.) om en

geeft weer de in de koelruimte c.q. in de vriesruimte aanwezige WERKELIJKE

temperatuur aan. De indicatie wisselt van knipperende naar voortdurend

brandende cijfers.

Aanwijzing: als de instelling veranderd wordt, start de compressor niet

direct als op dat ogenblik automatisch wordt ontdooid.

De displayverlichting schakelt na het indrukken van een willekeurig toets in.

Als geen toets wordt ingedrukt, schakelt de displayverlichting na ca. 1 min.

uit.

Belangrijk! Regelmatig via het rode alarmlampje en de temperatuur-indi-

catie de juiste bewaartemperatuur controleren.

Interior Accessories

Storage shelves

• You should always slide one of the full size glass storage shelf into the

lowest set of guides, above the fruit and the vegetable containers, and

keep it in this position.

• The height of the storage shelves

can be adjusted:

• To do this pull the storage shelf

forward until it can be swivelle-

dupwards or downwards and

removed.

• Please do the same in reverse to

insert the shelf at a different hei-

ght.

Adjusting the upper door rack

• Depending on the food stored, the upper door racks can be changed to

other holders or removed. Take out the refrigerators food, press the door

racks digonally upwards at their edges, reposition them, and press them

back into place.

The glass shelf incorporates a device

with slits (adjustable by means of a sli-

ding lever), which makes it possible to

regulate the temperature in the vege-

table drawer(s). Close the slots to

obtain a warmer temperature and

greater humidity. Open the slots to

obtain a cooler temperature and less

humidity.

Function Errors

If the appliance’s electronics recognise a technical problem that has to be

remedied by the Customer Service Department, an alarm sounds and the

SERVICE indicator appears back lit with a flashing red light.

The temperature display indicates:

– a square or a letter in the temperature display of the fridge for a fault in

the fridge,

– a square or a letter in the temperature display of the freezer for a fault in

the freezer.

1. Using the RESET button you can switch off the alarm and the flashing red

light. The SERVICE indicator continues to be lit as long as there is an elec-

trical malfunction.

Aanwijzing:

De instelling van het apparaat kan niet veranderd worden, als de stek-ker

uit het stopcontact getrokken is of als er anderszins geen elektrici-teit

Standen

de eerder ingestelde WERKELIJKE-temperaturen verder.

Als de cijfers van de temperatuurindicatie na de instelling van de WERKE-

LIJKE-temperatuur nog knipperen, kan met de toets MODE nog geen

bedrijfsstand worden ingesteld.

SHOPPING

De functie SHOPPING is geschikt voor het snel afkoelen van grote hoe-

veelheden van aan bederf onderhevige levensmiddelen, evenals voor kleine

hoeveelheden diepvriesproducten in de diepvriesruimte, bijv. na het inkopen

van grote hoeveelheden.

Daarvoor is voor de koelruimte gedurende 6 uur automatisch een norm-

temperatuur van +3 °C standaard ingesteld. De koeling voor de diepvrie-

sruimte loopt gedurende 1 uur ononderbroken.

1. De MODE-toets zo vaak indrukken tot in het display SHOPPING knippert.

Na ca. 4 seconden is de stand SHOPPING geactiveerd, de indicatie SHOP-

PING brandt. De beide thermometerindicaties in het display geven een

dalende temperatuurbalk aan.

De SHOPPING-functie wordt na 6 uur automatisch uitgeschakeld. De indi-

catie SHOPPING dooft..

FROSTMATIC

De FROSTMATIC-functie versnelt het invriezen van verse levensmiddelen en

beschermt tegelijkertijd de reeds ingevroren waren tegen ongewenste

verwar-ming.

De koeling voor de diepvriesruimte loopt gedurende 52 uur ononderbroken.

1. De MODE-toets zo vaak indrukken tot in het display FROSTMATIC

knippert.

Na ca. 4 seconden is de stand FROSTMATIC geactiveerd, de indicatie FROST-

Temperature warning

For the fridge section:

An alarm sounds and the TEMPERATURE indicator and a red back light fla-

sh, as soon as the temperature in the fridge section rises above 12 °C.

In addition the temperature display for the fridge section flashes. If the

temperature in the fridge section falls below 12 °C, the alarm automatical-

ly switches itself off. The TEMPERATURE indicator and the red back lighting

continue to flash.

1. You can turn off the alarm and warning light using the RESET button.

For 5 seconds the temperature display for the fridge section shows the war-

mest temperature that was reached in the fridge section during the tempe-

rature warning. After that the temperature display stops flashing and swit-

ches back to the current temperature in the fridge section. The TEMPERA-

TURE indicator continue to flash as long as there is a temperature warning.

For the freezer section:

An alarm sounds and the TEMPERATURE indicator and red back light flash,

as soon as the temperature in the freezer section rises above -11 °C. In addi-

tion the temperature display for the freezer section flashes.

If the temperature in the freezer section falls back below -11 °C, the alarm

automatically switches itself off. The TEMPERATURE indicator and the red

back lighting continue to flash.

1. You can turn off the alarm and the red back lighting using the RESET but-

ton.

For 5 seconds the temperature display for the freezer section shows the

warmest temperature that was reached in the freezer section during the

temperature warning. After that the temperature display stops flashing and

switches back to the current temperature in the freezer section. The TEM-

PERATURE indicator continues to flash, as long as there is a temperature

warning.

If there is an interruption to the power supply during an alarm, when the

appliance is reconnected to the supply, it starts with an acoustic and visual

alarm.

If the possibility of partial or complete thawing exists, you should check the

quality of the foods.

A rise in temperature may be caused by:

– frequent door opening for long periods of time;

– loading with large quantities of warm foods;

– high ambient temperature;

– an error with the appliance.

1. De MODE-toets zo vaak indrukken tot in het display COOLMATIC knip-

pert.. Na ca. 4 seconden is de stand COOLMATIC geactiveerd, de indicatie

COOLMATIC brandt. De beide thermometerindicaties in het display voor de

koelruimte geven een dalende temperatuurbalk aan.

De COOLMATIC-functie zorgt nu voor intensief koelen. Daarbij wordt auto-

matisch een GEWENSTE temperatuur van +3 °C ingesteld. Na ver-loop van

6 uur wordt de COOLMATIC-functie automatisch beëindigd.

Het gele lampje gaat uit. De oorspronkelijk ingestelde GEWENSTE tem-pera-

tuur geldt dan weer en de temperatuurindicatie geeft weer de temperatuur

aan die op dat moment in de koelruimte heerst.

FROSTMATIC en COOLMATIC

Bij de combinatie van de functies FROSTMATIC en COOLMATIC is voor de

koelruimte gedurende 6 uur automatisch een normtemperatuur van +3 °C

standaard ingesteld. De koeling voor de diepvriesruimte loopt gedurende 52

uur ononderbroken.

1. De MODE-toets zo vaak indrukken tot in het display gelijktijdig FROST-

MATIC en COOLMATIC knipperen.

Na ca. 4 seconden is de stand FROSTMATIC en COOLMATIC geactiveerd, de

indicaties FROSTMATIC en COOLMATIC branden. De beide thermometerin-

dicaties in het display geven een dalende temperatuurbalk aan.

De functies FROSTMATIC en COOLMATIC worden automatisch uitge-

schakeld: COOLMATIC na 6 uur, FROSTMATIC na maximaal 52 uur. De indi-

caties doven dienovereenkomstig.

HOLIDAY

In de stand HOLIDAY (vakantie-instelling) is de vooringestelde normtempe-

ratuur voor de koelruimte +14 °C. Daardoor bestaat de mogelijkheid - zon-

der dat geur- of schimmelvorming optreedt - gedurende langere afwezi-

gheid (bijv. vakantie) de lege koelruimte in plaats van open ook gesloten te

houden. Voordeel: onopzettelijke dichtvallen van de deur resp. bij vergissing

dichtdrukken van de deur door personen die tijdens Uw afwezigheid toe-

gang tot de woning hebben, is niet meer mogelijk. Zonder de vakantiestand

Switching off freezer section when fridge switched on:

1. Press and hold down the “+“and the “-“ buttons for the freezer section at

the same time. In the temperature display for the freezer section there is a

countdown from “3“ to “1“. Then “OF“ appears in the temperature display.

The freezer section switches itself off.

To switch the freezer section on again, press “+“ or “-“ button.

Switching off freezer section when fridge switched off:

1. Press and hold down the “+“and the “-“ buttons for the freezer section at

the same time. There is a countdown from “3“ to “1“, then “OF“ appears in

the temperature display. The freezer section or the whole appliance switches

itself off.

Note: The appliance cannot be switched on or off if unplugged, or if there

is no power being supplied to it. Following connection to the mains power

supply, the appliance returns to the same operating state as before the

interruption of main power.

If the appliance is not to be used for an extended period:

1. Switch appliance off by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button (see

above).

2. Remove the mains plug or switch off.

3. Defrost freezer compartment and clean thoroughly (see section: "Main-

tenance and Cleaning").

4. Leave the doors open after defrosting to avoid accumulation of odours.

Control and Information Systems

The control and information systems consist of a temperature display, an

optical warning indicator light and an acoustic warning.

The system warns:

– when there is a power cut;

– when the appliance doors are open

– when the temperature in the refrigerator or freezer compartment is too

high;

– if there are functional disturbances at the appliance.

Power cut warning

After an interruption to the power supply, POWER is displayed in the display

and the current Actual temperature is displayed again. The appliance con-

tinues to run with the previously selected settings. The POWER indicator

goes out, as soon as any button is pressed.

Let op! Geen producten in de koelruimte opslaan als het apparaat op de

vakantiestand staat. De temperatuur tijdens de vakantiestand wordt op

ongeveer +14 °C gezet. Dit is te warm voor levensmiddelen.

Als tijdens de afwezigheid de kamertemperatuur gedurende langere tijd tot

onder de 15 °C zou dalen, dient de koelruimte niet in de stand HOLIDAY

ingesteld te worden, maar dient het uitgeschakeld te worden en dient de

deur opengesteld te worden.

Om de koelruimte weer in de standaard instelling in te stellen, moet de

MODE-toets zo vaak worden ingedrukt tot er geen woorden meer in het

display worden aangegeven.

Apparaat uitschakelen

Koelruimte en diepvriesruimte kunnen apart van elkaar uitgezet worden.

1. Voor het uitschakelen van het gehele apparaat dient de toets AAN/UIT

ingedrukt gehouden te worden. Bij beide temperatuurindicaties verschijnt

een zogenaamde “Count down“, waarbij van “3“ naar “1“ wordt geteld. Na

het bereiken van “1“ wordt korte tijd OF aangegeven, daarna schakelt de

koel- en vriesruimte uit. De temperatuurindicaties doven.

Voor de afloop van de “Count downs“ kan de uitschakelprocedure door mid-

del van het loslaten van de toets AAN/UIT worden afgebroken.

Koelruimte uitschakelen bij een ingeschakelde vriesruimte:

Gelijktijdig de toetsen “+“ en “-“ voor de koelruimte ingedrukt houden.

Een “Count down“ van “3“ naar “1“ volgt, daarna verschijnt in de tempera-

tuurindicatie “OFF“. De koelruimte schakelt uit. 3 Om de koelruimte weer in

Koelruimte uitschakelen bij uitgeschakelde vriesruimte:

After emptying and cleaning the appliance, proceed as follows:

1. To switch on the holiday setting, press the MODE button repeatedly

Important! Do not store any goods in the refrigerator when the holiday

mode is in operation. The temperature is regulated at about +14 °C when

Switching the Appliance Off

Refrigerator and freezer compartments can be switched off independently

of one another.

1. To switch the entire appliance off, press and hold down the ON/OFF but-

ton. In both temperature displays there is a countdown from “3“ to “1“. After

“1“ is reached, OF is displayed briefly, then the fridge section and the free-

zer section are switched off. The temperature displays go out.

Before the countdown has been completed, the switch-off procedure can

be cancelled by releasing the ON/OFF button.

Switching off fridge section when freezer section is switched on:

Press and hold the “+“ and “-“ buttons for the fridge section at the same

time. There is a “countdown“ from “3“ to “1“, then “OF“appears in the tem-

perature display. The fridge section switches itself off.

To switch the fridge section on again, press “+“ or “-“ button.

Switching off fridge section when freezer section is switched off:

2. Stekker uit het stopcontact halen of zekering uitschakelen, er resp. uit-

halen.

3. Diepvriesruimte ontdooien en apparaat grondig reinigen (zie hoofdstuk

"Reiniging en Onderhoud").

4. Deuren daarna open laten ter vermijding van reukvorming.

Het openen van de deur van de diepvries-ruimte

Als het apparaat ingeschakeld is en de deur van de diepvriesruimte ge-slo-

ten wordt, kan hij niet direct weer geopend worden omdat er onder-druk in

de diepvriesruimte ontstaat die de deur gesloten houdt tot de druk weer

gelijk is. Na een paar minuten kan de deur weer geopend worden.

Controle- en informatiesysteem

Het controle- en informatiesysteem bestaat uit temperatuuraanwijzingen,

optische waarschuwingsaanwijzing en akoestische waarschuwingen.

Het systeem waarschuwt:

–bij stroomuitval;

– bij geopende apparaatdeuren;

– als de temperatuur in de koel- of diepvriesruimte te hoog oploopt;

– bij functiestoringen aan het apparaat.

Stroomuitvalwaarschuwing

Na een stroomonderbreking wordt in het display POWER aangegeven en

wordt de actuele WERKELIJKE -temperatuur aangegeven. Het apparaat

functioneert weer met de eerder gekozen instellingen. De indicatie POWER

dooft zodra een willekeurige toets wordt ingedrukt.

The operating mode FROSTMATIC is automatically switched off depending

on how the appliance is filled at the latest after approx. 52 hours. The FRO-

STMATIC indicator will go out.

COOLMATIC

The COOLMATIC operating mode is suitable for quickly cooling larger quan-

tities of refrigerated foods in the fridge section, e. g. drinks, salads for a

party or wedding.

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until COOLMATIC is flashing in the

display.

After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode COOLMATIC is activated, the

COOLMATIC indicator lights up. The thermometer indicator in the display

for the fridge section shows a falling temperature column.

The COOLMATIC function now provides for intensive cooling. A DESIRED

temperature of +3 °C is automatically selected. The COOLMATIC function is

ended automatically after a period of 6 hours. The originally selected DESI-

RED temperature is again valid. The temperature display shows the ACTUAL

refrigerator temperature.

FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC

When the FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC functions are combined, a desired

temperature of +3 °C is automatically set for the fridge section for 6 hours.

Cooling for the freezer section runs for 52 hours in continuous operation.

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC are

flashing in the display at the same time.

After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC

is activated, the FROSTMATIC und COOLMATIC indicators light up. Both

thermometer indicators in the display show a falling temperature column.

The function FROSTMATIC and COOLMATIC is automatically switched off:

COOLMATIC after 6 hours, FROSTMATIC after 52 hours at the latest.

The indicators go out accordingly.

HOLIDAY

In the operating mode HOLIDAY (holiday setting) the desired temperature

value for the fridge section is +14 °C. In the holiday mode it is therefore pos-

sible to leave the door of the empty refrigerator closed during periods of

extended absence. Advantage: Unintentional closing of the door, or acci-

dental closing of the door by persons who have access to your home during

your absence, is no longer possible. Without the holiday mode leaving the

door closed would lead to the accumulation of odours and mould.

Temperatuurwaarschuwing

Voor de koelruimte:

Er klinkt een waarschuwingssignaal en de indicatie TEMPERATURE en een

rode achtergrondverlichting knipperen, zodra de temperatuur in de koel-

ruimte boven de 12 °C komt.

schuwingsindicatie uitschakelen.

De temperatuurindicatie voor de koelruimte geeft gedurende 5 seconden de

hoogste temperatuur aan die tijdens het temperatuuralarm in de koelruim-

te werd bereikt. Vervolgens stopt de temperatuurindicatie met knipperen en

schakelt weer naar de actuele koelruimtetemperatuur. De indicatie TEMPE-

RATURE blijft zolang het temperatuuralarm bestaat, knipperen.

Voor de diepvriesruimte:

Er klinkt een waarschuwingssignaal en de indicatie TEMPERATURE en een

rode achtergrondverlichting knipperen, zodra de temperatuur in de vrie-

sruimte tot boven -11 °C stijgt.

Als de temperatuur in de vriesruimte weer tot onder -11 °C daalt, schakelt

het waarschuwingsignaal automatisch uit. De indicatie TEMPERATURE en de

rode achtergrondverlichting blijven knipperen.

1. Met de toets RESET kunt u het waarschuwingssignaal en de rode achter-

grondverlichting uitschakelen.

De temperatuurindicatie voor de vriesruimte geeft gedurende 5 seconden

de warmste temperatuur aan, die tijdens het temperatuuralarm in de vrie-

sruimte werd bereikt. Daarna stopt de temperatuurindicatie met knipperen

en schakelt weer naar de actuele temperatuur van de vriesruimte over. De

indicatie TEMPERATURE blijft zolang het temperatuuralarm bestaat, knip-

peren.

Als er een alarm van een stroomuitval wordt aangegeven, start het appa-

raat zodra de stroomtoevoer hervat is, met een akoestisch en optisch alarm-

signaal.

Let op! Als de verdenking bestaat dat de levensmiddelen ontdooid zijn, aar-

gelang de temperatuurstijging, de kwaliteit en het verdere gebruik ervan

controleren.

Een temperatuurstijging kan eventueel veroorzaakt worden door:

– de deur vaak of langdurig te openen;

– grote hoeveelheden warme levensmiddelen op te slaan;

– hoge omgevingstemperatuur;

– een defect aan het apparaat.

Operating modes

Using the MODE button different operating modes can be selected. The

operating modes are automatically switched off after a corresponding

period, but can also be manualled ended each time. To do this, press the

MODE button repeatedly until there are no longer any words appearing in

the display. After the operating modes have been completed, the appliance

SHOPPING

The SHOPPING function is suitable for quickly cooling larger quantities of

refrigerated foods in the fridge section, as well as for smaller amounts of

frozen foods in the freezer section, e. g. after a big shop.

This automatically sets a desired temperature of +3 °C for the fridge section

for 6 hours. Cooling for the freezer section runs for 1 hour in continuous

operation.

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until SHOPPING is flashing in the

display.

After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode SHOPPING is activated, the

SHOPPING indicator lights up. Both thermometer indicators in the display

show a falling temperature column.

The SHOPPING function is automatically switched off after 6 hours.

The SHOPPING indicator will go out.

The display lighting switches itself on when any button is touched. If no

button is pressed, the display lighting switches itself off after approx. 1

minute.

FROSTMATIC

The FROSTMATIC function provides for quick freezing of fresh food pro-

ducts, and at the same time protects previously stored goods against unde-

sired warming in the freezer compartment.

The cooling of the freezer section runs for about 52 hours in continuous

operation.

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until FROSTMATIC is flashing in the

display.

After approx. 4 seconds the operating mode FROSTMATIC is activated, the

FROSTMATIC indicator lights up. The thermometer indicator in the display

for the freezer section shows a falling temperature column.

Functiestoringen

Als de elektronica van het apparaat een technische storing detecteert die

door de service-afdeling verholpen moet worden, klinkt een waar-

schuwingssignaal en de indicatie SERVICE verschijnt met een rood knippe-

rende achtergrondverlichting uitschakelen. De indicatie SERVICE blijft bran-

den totdat de functiestoringen verholpen zijn.

5. Set the freezer temperature to -18 °C or colder (see section: "Tempera-

ture Adjustment").

Do not load freezer with goods until a temperature of -18 °C has been rea-

ched, or until the red warning indicator light has gone out..

Temperature Adjustment

With the individual temperature setting buttons the desired temperatures

in the refrigerator and in the freezer compartment can be adjusted inde-

pendently of one another.

1. Press either the „+“ (WARMER) or „-“ (COLDER) button for the refriger-

ator or freezer compartment .

The temperature display switches over and the DESIRED temperature cur-

rently set flashes on the temperature display.

2. To adjust to a warmer temperature, press the „+“ (WARMER) button. To

adjust to a colder temperature, press the „-“ (COLDER) button. The changed

setting is immediately displayed on the temperature display.

Each time the button is pressed the temperature is adjusted by 1 °C.

Adjustable temperature range for the freezer compartment:

-15 °C to -24 °C.

Adjustable temperature range for the refrigerator compartment:

+3 °C to +8 °C, (HOLIDAY: +14 °C )

Note: +5 °C for the refrigerator compartment and -18 °C for the freezer

compartment should be considered cold enough as a storage temperature.

3. When the buttons are not further pressed after an adjustment has been

made, after a short period (approx. 5 sec.) the temperature display switches

over and again displays the ACTUAL temperature in the refrigerator com-

partment. The display changes from flashing to illuminated numbers.

When the setting is changed, the compressor does not start immediately if

automatic defrosting is currently taking place.

The display lighting switches itself on when any button is touched. If no

button is pressed, the display lighting switches itself off after approx. 1

minute.

Important! Please check regularly on the warning display and on the tem-

perature display that the storage temperature is being maintained.

Tip:

The appliance setting cannot be changed when the mains plug is pulled out

or there is no power supply.

When reconnected to the mains supply, the appliance takes on the state it

had at the time of the interruption to the power supply.

Prior to Initial Start-Up

Before connecting the appliance to the mains and putting it into ope-ration

for the first time, leave the appliance to stand for 30 minutes if was tran-

sported upright. After transport on its side, the appliance must be left to

stand for 2 hours before putting it into operation. This is necessary to allow

the oil to flow back into the compressor. Otherwise the compressor may be

damaged.

1. Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initial start-

up (see section: "Maintenance and Cleaning").

2. The appliance must be correctly installed in accordance with the chapter

"Installation" before it is put into operation for the first time. Care should

be especially taken that the mains voltage and frequency available corre-

spond with the appliance’s rating plate.

3. Remove the cold accumulation block from the appliance.

4. Place the cold accumulation block into a drawer only after the optimal

storage temperature of -18 °C has been reached, and allow to freeze.

5. After 24 hours place the cold accumulation block at the front of the

upper drawer.

6. Re-freeze the thawed cold accumulation block in the same fashion, e.g.

after cleaning the appliance.

Initial Start-Up

1. Insert plug into mains socket.

2. Press and hold down the ON/OFF button. The temperature indicator and

the back lighting light up, the appliance starts up. An alarm sounds, TEM-

PERATURE appears in the display and the back lighting flashes in red.

3. Switch off alarm and red back lighting using RESET button. The TEMPE-

RATURE indicator goes out, if the temperature in the appliance has gone

below the warning temperature.

3 Temperature settings set in the factory: +5 °C for the fridge section, -18

°C for the freezer section.

4. Set the refrigerator to the desired temperature (see section: "Tempera-

ture Adjustment").

Goods to be refrigerated can be loaded shortly after switching on, because

the storage temperature in the refrigerator is quickly reached.

De lade is geschikt om er groente en

fruit in te bewaren.

Binnenin de lade bevindt zich een

scheidingswand die op verschillende

plaatsen kan worden gezet om de

afscheiding aan de eigen wensen af

te stemmen.

Op de bodem van bovengenoemde

lade bevindt zich een rooster dat

ervoor zorgt dat de etenswaren die

erin zitten niet in aanraking komen met het vocht dat zou kunnen

ontstaan en dat in het onderste gedeelte opgevangen wordt.

De lade kan verwijderd worden met behulp van de zijhandgrepen

(zoals aangeduid in de afbeelding) en de binnenste onderdelen kun-

nen weggenomen worden om schoongemaakt te worden.

ting mode appears in the display.

To return to normal operation, press the MODE button repeatedly until no

words appear in the display (“ ”).

Text display

The names of the various operating modes that can be set with the MODE

button and the words indicating an alarm, power cut or electrical fault

appear in the text display.

• Operating modes: SHOPPING, FROSTMATIC, COOLMATIC, FROSTMATIC

and COOLMATIC, HOLIDAY, empty field when operating normally.

• Alarm: TEMPERATURE when there is a temperature warning

• After power cut: POWER displayed

• Electrical fault: SERVICE displayed

RESET button

With the RESET button, the acoustic warning signal can be switched off, e.g.

the "Open Door" warning when sorting in or out, the food to be chilled or

frozen.

When there is a temperature warning for the freezer compartment, if the

RESET button is activated, the temperature display will show for 5 seconds

the warmest temperature the frozen food has reached.

Koelen van levensmiddelen

Voor een optimaal gebruik van de koelruimte adviseren wij u de volgende

eenvoudige regels in acht te nemen:

• Plaats geen warme of dampende spijzen of dranken in de koelruimte;

• dek vooral sterk geurend voedsel af of verpak het;

• plaats de levensmiddelen zo, dat de lucht vrij eromheen kan circuleren.

Enkele belangrijke tips:

Vlees (alle soorten): wordt in plastic zakjes op de glazen plaat boven de

groentelade geplaatst.

Bewaar vlees niet langer dan één of twee dagen.

Gekookt voedsel, koude schotels enz.: kunnen, goed afgedekt, op elk legv-

lak geplaatst worden.

Fruit en groente: worden schoongemaakt in de groentelade(n) gelegd.

Boter en kaas: worden, om blootstelling aan de lucht te voorkomen, in spe-

ciale koeldozen bewaard of in plastic- of aluminiumfolie verpakt.

Flessen melk: worden, goed gesloten, in het flessenrek geplaatst.

Bewaar niet-luchtdicht verpakte bananen, aardappelen, uien of knoflook

niet in de koelkast.

The temperature that has been selected for inside the fridge or the freezer

compartment. The DESIRED temperature is indicated by flashing numbers.

ACTUAL temperature means:

The temperature display indicates the current temperature inside the fridge

or the freezer compartment. The ACTUAL temperature is indicated with

illuminated numbers.

Temperature Displays

The temperature displays shows several types of information.

• In normal operation the average temperature in the fridge section is

displayed (ACTUAL temperature). The variations in temperature in the who-

le fridge section are small.

• In the freezer section the warmest temperature is displayed (ACTUAL tem-

perature). When fully filled, the warmest zone is normally located at the top

in the front area of the freezer section. Depending upon how the section is

filled, the temperatures are lower in other areas of the freezer section.

• When the temperature is being adjusted a flashing display indicates the

fridge or the freezer compartment temperature currently set (DESIRED tem-

perature).

Tip: When changing the temperature setting wait about 24 hours until the

temperature display has stabilised.

• When there is a temperature warning for the freezer compartment, if the

RESET button is activated, the temperature display will show for 5 seconds

the warmest temperature the frozen food has reached.

• If there is a fault in the appliance the temperature display shows:

– a square or a letter in the temperature display of the fridge for a fault in

the fridge,

– a square or a letter in the temperature display of the freezer for a fault in

the freezer.

MODE button

Different operating modes can be set using the MODE button.

The following operating modes can be selected:

– SHOPPING: Fridge temperature value 3 °C for 6 hours, cooling for freezer

section runs for 1 hour in continuous operation.

– FROSTMATIC: Cooling for the freezer section runs for 52 hours in conti-

nuous operation.

– COOLMATIC: Fridge temperature value 3 °C for 6 hours.

Invriezen en diepgevroren bewaren

In uw koelapparaat kunt u diepvriesproducten bewaren en verse levens-

middelen zelf invriezen.

Attentie!

• Voor het invriezen van levensmiddelen dient de temperatuur in de vries-

ruimte –18 °C of lager te zijn.

• Let op het op het typeplaatje aangegeven vriesvermogen. Het vriesver-

mogen is de maximale hoeveelheid verse waren die binnen 24 uur inge-

vroren kunnen worden. Als er gedurende meerdere dagen achter elkaar

ingevroren wordt, neem dan slechts 2/3 tot 3/4 van de hoeveelheid aan-

• Warme levensmiddelen voor het invriezen laten afkoelen. De warmte leidt

tot verhoogde ijsvorming en verhoogt het energieverbruik.

• Bij het bewaren van kant-en-klare diepvriesproducten dient u zich

beslist aan de door de fabrikant opgegeven bewaartijd te houden.

• Eenmaal ontdooide levensmiddelen zonder verdere verwerking (berei-

den tot panklare gerechten) in geen geval een tweede keer invriezen.

• Containers met brandbare gassen of vloeistoffen kunnen lek raken door

de inwerking van koude. Explosiegevaar! Leg geen containers met brand-

bare stoffen zoals bijv. spraybussen, aanstekers, navullingen van aan-

stekers etc. in het vriesapparaat.

• Flessen en blikken mogen niet in de vriesruimte. Ze kunnen springen als

de inhoud bevriest – bij koolzuurhoudende inhoud zelfs exploderen! Leg

nooit limonades, sappen, bier, wijn, champagne etc. in de vriesruimte. Uit-

zondering: sterke drank met een zeer hoog alcoholpercentage kan in de

vriesruimte gelegd worden.

• Alle levensmiddelen voor het invriezen luchtdicht verpakken, zodat ze

niet uitdrogen, de smaak niet verloren gaat en de smaak niet op andere

diepvriesproducten overgebracht wordt.

Voorzichtig! Diepvriesartikelen niet met natte handen aanraken. De handen

kunnen daaraan vast vriezen.

Om veiligheidsredenen moet u de laden niet verwijderen.

Temperature setting buttons

The temperature is adjusted using the „+“ (WARMER) and „-“ (COLDER) but-

tons.

These buttons are connected to the temperature display.

• The temperature display is switched over from the display of the ACTUAL

temperature (Temperature display is illuminated) to the display of the DESI-

RED temperature (Temperature display flashes) by pressing one of the two

buttons, „+“ (WARMER) or „-“ (COLDER).

• Each time one of the two buttons is pressed again the DESIRED tempera-

ture is adjusted by 1 °C.

• If neither button is pressed, the temperature display automatically swit-

ches back after a short period (approx. 4 sec.) to the display of the ACTUAL

Koude-accu’s

In één van de laden van de vriesruimte bevinden zich twee koude-accu’s.

Als de stroom uitvalt of bij een storing aan het apparaat verlengen de koude-

accu’s de tijd tot de diepvriesartikelen te warm worden met meerdere uren.

De koude-accu’s kunen dit echter alleen optimaal doen als ze in de boven-

ste lade vooraan boven op de diepvriesartikelen gelegd worden. De koude-

accu’s kunnen tijdelijk ook als koelelement voor koeltassen gebruikt worden.

Diepvrieskalender

• De symbolen geven de diverse soorten diepvriesproducten aan.

• De getallen geven voor iedere soort diepvriesproduct de bewaartijd in

maanden aan. Of de hoogste of de laagste waarde van de aangegeven

bewaartijd geldt, hangt af van de kwaliteit van de levensmiddelen en de

behandeling voorafgaand aan het invriezen. Voor levensmiddelen met een

hoog vetgehalte geldt altijd de laagste waarde.

Maken van ijsblokjes

1. IJsbakje voor 3/4 met koud water vullen, in de vriesruimte plaatsen en laten

bevriezen.

2. Om de ijsblokjes los te maken het ijsbakje omdraaien of kort onder stromend

water houden.

Attentie! Een eventueel vastgevroren ijsbakje in geen geval met spitse

of scherpe voorwerpen losmaken.

Prior to Initial Start–Up

Electrical connection

Before initial start-up, refer to the appliance rating plate to ascertain if sup-

ply voltage and current values correspond with those of the mains at the

installation location.

(i.e. 230 to 240 volts alternating current, 50 Hertz)

The rating plate is inside the appliance on the left.

A correctly installed, earthed socket is required for the electrical supply. The

supply must have a fuse rating of at least 10 Amps.

If the socket is not accessible once the appliance is built in, the electrical

installation must include suitable means of isolating the appliance from the

mains (e.g. fuse, cut-out, current trip or similar with a minimum contact

separation of 3 mm).

Attention: The mains connection cable may only be replaced by a skilled

electrician. Please contact your dealer or our customer service department

for repairs.

Ontdooien van het apparaat

Het ontdooien van de koelruimte

Als de compressor loopt vormt zich op de achterwand van de koelruimte

een rijplaag. Deze laag wordt automatisch verwijderd, wanneer de com-

pressor stilstaat. Het dooiwater wordt in een gootje in de achterwand van

de koelruimte opgevangen en via een afvoeropening naar een verzamelbak

boven de compressor gevoerd, alwaar het verdampt.

Het ontdooien van de vriesruimte

In het vriesvak slaat het vocht dat ontstaat tijdens de werking van het

apparaat en tijdens het openen van de deur neer. Daardoor vormt zich in

de vriesruimte een rijplaag. Deze dient regelmatig verwijderd te worden

met behulp van de speciale kunststof schraper. Een dikke rijplaag in de

vriesruimte betekent een hoger energieverbruik. Ontdooi daarom minstens

éénmaal per jaar, resp. als zich een rijplaag van ca. 4 mm gevormd heeft, de-

vriesruimte. Dit kunt u het beste doen, wanneer de vriesruimte leeg of sle-

chts voor een klein deel gevuld is.

Ga als volgt te werk:

1. Verwijder de diepvriesproducten en

bewaar ze op een koele plaats.

2. Schakel het apparaat uit en haal de

stekker uit het stopcontact of

schakel de zekering in de huisinstal-

latie uit.

3. Laat de deur van de vriesruimte

openstaan.

4. Steek de kunststof schraper in de ope-

ning onder de vriesruimte en plaats

daar een schaaltje of teiltje onder.

5. Draai de thermostaatknop in de gewenste stand of steek de stekker weer in

het stopcontact. Na twee of drie uur kunt u de diepvriesproducten weer

terugplaatsen.

Belangrijk

Gebruik geen metalen voorwerpen om de rijplaag te verwijderen.

Gebruik geen elektrische verwarmingsapparaten o.i.d. om het ontdooipro-

ces te versnellen. Houd u aan de aanwijzingen in dit boekje.

Temperatuurstijging van diepvriesproducten kan hun houdbaarheidsduur

verkorten.

Apparaat van binnen

ren de stand FROSTMATIC instellen, om voor de stroomonderbre-king voor

genoeg koudereserve in de diepvriesruimte te zorgen. Deur van diepvrie-

sruimte daarna niet meer openen.

1. Ca. 12 uur voor ontdooien de stand FROSTMATIC instellen om in de diep-

vriesproducten genoeg koudereserve op te slaan voor het tijdelijk uit-

schakelen van het apparaat.

Voorzichtig! Niet met natte handen aan diepvriesproducten komen.

De handen kunnen eraan vastvriezen.

2. De koel- en diepvriesproducten eruit halen. Diepvriesproducten in een

aantal lagen krantenpapier wikkelen en afgedekt op een koele plaats leg-

gen. Koudeaccu boven op de vriesproducten leggen.

3. Diepvriesruimte voor het schoonmaken ontdooien (zie Hoofdstuk "Ont-

dooien").

4. Koel- en diepvriesruimte uitschakelen en de stekker uit het stopcontact

halen of de zekering uitschakelen, er resp. uithalen.

5. Apparaat binnen met een doek en lauwwarm water schoonmaken. Even-

tueel een beetje normaal afwasmiddel toevoegen.

Het onderste legplateau die de koelruimte scheidt, kan voor het reinigen

worden uitgenomen. Hiervoor wordt het plateau recht uitgetrokken.

De afdekking van de onderste lade kan voor het reinigen worden verwijderd.

6. Daarna met schoon water afnemen en droogmaken.

7. Controleer en reinig de magnetische deurvergrendelingen regelmatig.

Apparaat van buiten

1. Apparaat buiten met een doek en lauwwarm water schoonmaken.

Eventueel een beetje normaal afwasmiddel toevoegen.

2. Daarna met schoon water afnemen en droogmaken.

Let op: Gebruik geen reinigingsmiddel voor roestvrij staal en ook geen

andere agressieve of schurende reinigingsmiddelen. De beschermende lak-

laag van het roestvrij stalen oppervlak kan daardoor worden aangetast.

De aanwezige laklaag beschermt tegen vingerafdrukken, extra reinigings-

of onderhoudsmiddelen zijn daarom niet meer vereist.

Stof op de condensor vermindert het koelvermogen en verhoogt het ener-

gieverbruik. Daarom eenmaal per jaar de condensor aan de achter-kant van

het apparaat met een zachte borstel of met de stofzuiger voorzichtig

schoonmaken.

3. Als alles droog is het apparaat weer in gebruik nemen.

If installation next to a source of heat is unavoidable, the following mini-

mum clearances must be maintained at the sides of the appliance:

If these clearances cannot be maintained a heat insulating pad is required

If the refrigeration appliance is installed next to another refrigerator or free-

Installation

Installation Location

The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room.

Energy use is affected by the ambient temperature. The appliance should

therefore

– not be exposed to direct sunlight;

– not be installed next to radiators, cookers or other sources of heat;

– only be installed at a location whose ambient temperature corresponds to

the climate classification, for which the appliance is designed.

The climate classification can be found on the serial plate, which is located

at the left on the inside of the appliance.

Disposal of old Appliances

For environmental reasons, refrigeration appliances must be disposed of

properly. This applies to your old appliance, and - at the end of its service

life - for your new appliance as well.

Warning! Before disposing of old appliances make them inoperable. Remo-

ve plug from mains, sever the power cable, remove or destroy any snap or

latch closures. This eliminates the danger that playing children lock them-

selves into the appliance (danger of suffocation!) or place themselves into

other life-endangering situations.

Disposal:

• The appliance may not be disposed of with domestic waste or bulky refuse.

• The refrigerant circuit, especially the heat exchanger at the back of the

appliance, may not be damaged.

• The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that

this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall

be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling

of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is

disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative con-

sequences for the environment and human health, which could

otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this pro-

duct. For more detailed information about recycling of this product,

please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal

service or the shop where you purchased the product.

Tips om energie te besparen

• Het apparaat niet in de buurt van kachels, verwarmingselementen of

andere warmtebronnen plaatsen. Bij een hoge omgevingstemperatuur

werkt de compressor vaker en langer.

• Zorgen voor voldoende be- en ontluchting aan de onderkant van het

apparaat. Ventilatieopeningen nooit afdekken.

• Geen warme spijzen in het apparaat zetten. Warme spijzen eerst laten

• Deur slechts zo lang open laten als nodig is.

Daily Operation

• Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures.

There is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any containers with flamma-

ble materials such as, for example, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill car-

tridges etc in the refrigerator/freezer.

• Bottles and cans must not be placed in the freezer compartment. They can

burst when the contents freeze, high carbonate content drinks can even

explode! Never store lemonade, juices, beer, wine, sparkling wine etc. in

the freezer compartment. Exception: high alcohol content spirits can be

stored in the freezer compartment.

• Do not put ice creams or ice cubes in the mouth immediately after remo-

val from the freezer compartment. Very cold ice can freeze to the lips or

tongue and cause injury.

• Do not touch frozen food with wet hands. Your hands could freeze to the

food.

• Do not operate any electrical appliances in the refrigerator/freezer (e.g.

electric ice cream makers, mixers etc.).

• Before cleaning the appliance, always switch off the appliance and unplug

it, or pull the house fuse or switch off the circuit breaker.

• When unplugging always pull the plug from the mains socket, do not pull

on the cable.

In case of malfunction

• If the a malfunction occurs on the appliance, please look first in the "What

to do if ..." section of these instructions. If the information given there

does not help, please do not perform any further repairs yourself.

• Refrigerators/freezers may only be repaired by qualified service engineers.

Improper repairs can give rise to significant hazards. If your appliance needs

repairing, please contact your specialist dealer or our Customer Service.

Disposal

Appliance Packaging Information

All materials are environmentally sound! They can be dumped or burned at

an incinerating plant without danger!

About the materials: The plastics can be recycled and are identified as fol-

Intended use

• The refrigerator is intended for use in the home. It is suitable for the coo-

ling, freezing and storing of frozen food, as well as for making ice. If the

appliance is used for purposes other than those intended or used incor-

rectly, no liability can be accepted by the manufacturer for any damage

that may be caused.

• Alterations or changes to the freezer are not permitted for reasons of

safety.

• If you use the refrigerator in a commercial application or forpurposes

Refrigerant

The refrigerant isobutane (R600a) is contained within the refrigerant circuit

of the appliance, a natural gas with a high level of environmental compa-

tibility, which is nevertheless flammable.

• During transportation and installation of the appliance, be certain that

none of the components of the refrigerant circuit become damaged.

• If the refrigerant circuit should become damaged:

– avoid open flames and sources of ignition;

– thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is situated.

Safety of children

• Packaging (e.g. wraps, polystyrene) can be dangerous for children. There is

a risk of suffocation! Keep packaging material away from children!

• Please make old appliances unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains

plug, cut off the mains cable, break or remove spring or boltcatches, if fit-

ted. By doing this you ensure that children cannot lock themselves in the

fridge when playing (there is risk of suffocation!)or get themselves into

Het koelapparaat is voor huishoudelijk gebruik bestemd en is met inacht-

neming van de voor deze apparaten geldende normen gemaakt. Bij de

fabricage zijn speciaal die maatregelen genomen die vereist zijn volgens de

Duitse wet op de veiligheid van apparaten (GSG), volgens de Duitse voor-

schriften ter voorkoming van ongevallen bij koudeinstallaties (VBG 20) en

volgens de bepalingen van de vereniging van Duitse elektotechnici (VDE). De

koudecirculatie is op dichtheid getest.

Dit apparaat voldoet aan de volgende EU-richtlijnen:

– 73/23/EG van 19.2.1973 - Laagspanningsrichtlijn

– 89/336/EG van 3.5.1989

(met inbegrip van Wijzigingsrichtlijn 92/31/EG) - EMC-richtlijn
